A/N: Here is the continuation to “Zoo”. Hope you enjoy! This is for the 20 dates challenge.

Summary: Greg and Don and Ryan are now all living in Vegas. Ryan received his transfer and said his goodbyes, while Don had simply asked for a change in scenery. As the trio were having their “date” in a coffee shop, Eric and Calleigh met up with them to see if they could repair the damage they had done to Ryan in the past.

Coffee Shop

Ryan and Greg were seated at their table at the mom and pop’s coffee shop in Las Vegas waiting for Don to finish his shift for the night. As they waited, they went over the cases that they had been working on, seeing if they could find the missing piece that would crack the case wide open.

As they chatted Don walked in and stepped up to the counter. Getting his favourite coffee, he ordered another for Ryan and Greg before he made his way to their table. Upon sitting down, they basked in the contentment of being together.

When Ryan had first moved to Vegas, all those months ago, he was worried that the night shift would do as Miami had when meeting him. However, he was greeted with open arms and soon was being led around the town by Nick and Warrick when he wasn’t with Greg and Don. The fact that the friendships that were given to him were so open and honest helped Ryan heal in a way that Greg and Don prayed that he would. His self-confidence and belief were mounting, and it wasn’t rare to see Ryan laughing with the people of the lab.

The case that Ryan was on now, was linked to several deaths in Miami. After contacting Horatio, Ryan needed to unwind before the storm of Eric and Calleigh showed up to dampen his mood.

The Coffee shop was where Ryan had met with Don and Greg on their first date in Las Vegas. He had been nervous and twitchy wondering what the two men had seen in him from the start. Greg and Don had been lovers for over three years and after getting to know Ryan at one of the seminars in Vegas, they wanted him in their relationship.

FLASHBACK

Ryan was nervous about meeting up with the pair even after their first few rendezvous. Both were supportive of him in his endeavour to follow in his cousin’s footsteps as a CSI. As he waited at the coffee shop with a cooling cup of cafe mocha, he still smiled upon seeing them enter the shop. Greg had been bouncing off the walls and Don was smiling fondly at the DNA specialist.

Seeing the pair so obviously in love, Ryan felt a pang of longing strike through him. Greg noticed him and sauntered over to the lone brunette and launched into a discussion about surfing and forensics. Don joined them moments later and added the topics of policing and working with over eager DNA specialists.

Ryan couldn’t help but laugh at Greg’s pouting, and soon began telling them things about him that had taken his cousin, Tim months to find out. When they found out that he had OCD, Ryan was surprised that both were so accepting of his condition. As they spoke over the course of several hours, Ryan had begun to trust Greg and Don, and had very few problems with them afterwards.

END FLASHBACK

As they spoke, Eric and Calleigh entered the coffee shop and spotted Ryan right away. He seemed happier and had a spark that they didn’t see in Miami. He was obviously happy in his new predicament and the fact that their amosity had pushed him out of their lab. Guilt lay heavy upon their minds, especially after hearing the confession at the zoo several months prior.

Getting some coffee, both slowly made their way over to the trio so that they could clear the air before they began to work for the night. Greg saw Ryan stiffen at the sight of Eric and Calleigh, and gave Don the signal to keep the peace as they went over the case and maybe a few other things.

Eric mentally winced at the expressions on the three faces, and if he hadn’t seen how Ryan reacted before, then he would think that nothing had changed since he left Miami. Silently asking to sit with them, a stiff nod was given to them.

“Ryan, before we start Eric and I would like to apologize,” Calleigh spoke quietly, knowing that Ryan could just brush them off without a care, as it was his right. “The way we treated you in Miami was questionable at best, and downright cruel at its worst. We know now that it wasn’t fair to treat you the way we did, and would like to try and make amends, if you wish.”

“We had begun to notice a difference in the way you acted at the lab, and when we saw that everyone else was becoming so accepting, we lashed out.” Eric had the grace to look and still feel ashamed. “When we overheard that you we leaving, I thought I would feel happy and liberated, but all I felt was shame and disgust, all of it focused at myself. I looked into why I felt the way I did, and decided to do some research.

“When I looked into the family archives for Tim, I noticed your name. I never knew that you were his cousin, and I felt even more disgusted for my actions towards you. I know that our apologies may come too little too late, but I know that if we didn’t try, it would only keep festering and making things worse.” Eric shook his head remembering the agony of the past few months, where the lab was treating him and Callie just like they had treated Ryan.

Ryan, Greg and Don saw the contrition that both of them held. Not being a cruel person by nature Ryan looked at both of them. “While I know that the pair of you was cruel to me, I understood that you were both in pain. So, while I may never forget what you had both done to me, I will forgive you.”

Four heads looked at Ryan in disbelief. While Greg and Don could hold grudges, Ryan saw how that hurt people more than necessary. Eric and Calleigh were both surprised and humbled at the kindness Ryan offered them, and vowed to gain his friendship if possible.

With the past now behind them, the Case moved fairly smoothly. When Calliegh and Eric left, Ryan was given a note that the pair had written, and left with his lovers to their coffee shop.

“You know Greg,” Don whispered to his lover as Ryan got the coffee, “We could always have this discussion at home, and just enjoy our date time with Ry. He could use the motivation to get down and dirty right about now.”

Ryan was confused at the twin grins that he got from his lovers frightened him yet excited him. Giving both an assessing look, Ryan tried to determine what they were planning. However, they just continued their date, and after several hours of talking and drinking coffee, the trio went home; where Ryan would know the true meaning of taking someone in hand.

The End... Or is it?

AN: Hope you liked this one. I might write more later for this pairing. Hope you enjoyed it!
