Pain
Woohoo to a review.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
He watched them through the window and could felt the jealousy start churn in his stomach. Jealousy and anger, because he didn't want these feelings. He'd enjoyed his life and emotions make you sloppy. Emotions ruin things and she was starting to ruin him. He was supposed to keep his distance, because he'd come to understand he wasn't going to be able to kill her even if it would fix everything again.
As he thought about it, the anger grew. The fact that when he thought about hurting her he froze and felt dread was not good. It was terrible, it was going to ruin everything. He had his life, his plan, and all he'd had to do that night was wait her out. He'd been able to tell right away that the shield wouldn't hold very long. It would have taken almost nothing to end her and instead, when she'd started to cry and ramble he'd listened and it had done nothing but drive him crazy ever since.
But like most of his plans when she got involved, staying away hadn't really happened. Instead he'd ended up at her house. He'd never wanted to do violence so much in his life as he had when the cop had started to shake her, but the hate he'd had for that and snowballed into an unchecked rage when they'd moved to the bed and she'd wrapped her slender body around his. The rage had flooded him and through the haze of it he couldn't think clearly.
But she wasn't his and why it should bother him he couldn't-no that was a lie, he was refusing to understand, refusing to think about it and it just made things worse. The need for her, them to pay was almost to much. An intense desire to simply interrupt them, kill the cop, and then choke the life out of her hit him hard.
--
Azure closed her eyes and arched up into Matt. This relationship was no better then her other one. Fighting and fucking, hot and cold. But then his hands were sliding under her top and her brain stopped working. Her eyes slowly opened again and she smiled, Matt was what she wanted. Matt was good for her, would protect her and he made her happy. Those were the things she needed. Not tears streaking down her cheeks and a broken heart. No more pain, no more mess, just happy. Just loved. Her hips arched up and she moved her hands to hands to his pants and slipped her hand inside, curving her hand around him.
--
He wouldn't be apart of this. He would not become so pathetic that he'd sit here and watch and practically mope about it not being him. With a muttered curse he turned to leave when he heard it, the catch of her breath and that breathy moan of hers.
A sound she made so beautifully for him just hours before, before he'd told her it meant nothing and crushed her. Now she was making it for the cop and he wanted it to stop. He didn't stop to think it through, to admit what the reaction meant. He just knew he didn't want to hear that noise again, why that dumb oaf was on top of her.
The window shattered, spraying them both and he heard her whimper. As he moved into the room he watch her come up into a sitting position, her shirt pushed up and her hair a mess. As she slowly blinked her gaze clear her eyes went wide. Knowing he had her attention his gaze moved over to the cop and his eyes narrowed as he watched her hand reached out and grab his arm.
"Gabriel."
Her voice expressed her surprise and she watched him but his gaze never moved off the man, a smirk curving his mouth he lifted his hand only to stumble as she crashed into him her arms snaking around his waist to cling to him, her face turned up to look at him and her voice begging him.
"No, Gabriel don't please don't" For a second he almost wrapped his arms around her back but then he got a hold of himself. Her body flew backwards and slammed hard into the wall behind her. The crack of her head against it was unmistakable and she cried out in pain in response as she slid down the wall. No sooner had she hit the floor was the cop beside her. Touching her face gently checking if she was alright.
"Matt, you can't fight him."
"Just stay put."
"No, he will kill you h-Matt!."
But Matt was already flying away from her and slammed into the wall on the other side of the room. Moving towards her he watched the panic feel her face before he squatted down to look her in the face, and that rage and anger that had started to take over before, finally won out.
"You really are a whore aren't you."
She looked like he'd struck her, grabbing her face hard with his hand he forced her to look at him and only him.
"Wh-why are you doing this. You didn't want me"
And wasn't that the truth, he'd filled his need. A need he'd for the longest time thought didn't exist anymore and then he'd left her behind. The plan was to stay away? And instead he acted like a jealous boyfriend because she'd been moaning and grinding against the useless cop.
"Is he what you want Azure?"
"I don't understand why you care."
He could tell she meant it. She looked so confused, like she was going under but didn't know how to stop it and he understood the feeling. He also felt himself soften towards her and without thinking he titled her head back and kissed her.
She didn't fight it and as he slanted his mouth across hers he smiled, she couldn't stay away anymore then he could. But she went still when the gun cocked. Clearly someone in the room was a slow learner. She jerked away from him so violently her head slammed into the wall again.
"Shit.."
He just managed to not roll his eyes and slid his fingers into her hair to rub the injured spot for a moment before slowly standing up. Then she understood what was happening.
"No!"
"Get away from her asshole."
"Matt stop it."
"I don't remember her asking me to."
He watched the cop, Matt, all but shake with barely controlled rage, little Azure was going to get one hell of a lecture in a few moments. Or maybe she'd be able to give him those big doe eyes and cry her way out of it.
"Stay away from her."
"And if I don't?"
"I'll find a way to kill you."
"Those are big words, I welcome you to follow through on them."
"G-"
His face gerked down to look at her her and her mouth snapped closed
"Sylar, please don't. P-Please just leave."
"Fine."
And then he did leave, just turned and left because she'd asked him to. Because it would annoy Matt that he'd listened to her plee.
As soon as he was gone she looked to Matt with worried eyes, would he yell at her again? Would he just leave? He was so silent and so she just sat their against the wall and hugged her knees to her chest. Of course he was going to be angry she'd let Sylar kiss her and worst of all she'd kissed back, even after what her and Matt had been in the middle of. Finally she couldn't take his silence any longer.
"Matt?"
Nothing, she looked down and took a deep breath, they were going to fight again.
"Can you stand up Azure?"
Her head shot up and she nodded. Watching as he clicked the safety to his gun on before tossing it on the bed. Grabbing her by the elbows he lifted her to her feet before pulling her towards the bathroom and she could do nothing but follow in confusion.
"Matt?"
"We're taking a shower"
"Huh"
That had been the last thing she'd expected. He turned to face her, took in her complete confusion. He wanted to shower? No talk, nothing-just a shower? She her arms around her waist hugging herself, small and scared.
"We have a lot to talk about Azure, and I want to shower. You can either come with or you can sit out here and see if he comes back"
"I asked him to leave"
"After you shoved your tongue down his throat. Make a choice Azure."
How could she ever make that choice? Matt, whom she knew fairly well, got along with and cared for or the dark brooding one that made her stomach toss every time she saw him. As she kept telling herself Matt promised stability and love, Sylar promised nothing but pain and trouble and yet-she still couldn't force herself to not care about him, to just forget about it. But, at this moment she knew what she needed to do. Letting out a heavy sigh she followed after Matt into the bathroom.
