Part 9
Warrick came walking in with his arms loaded full of evidence bags, "Hey, I didn't get any notice about a meeting or party. What's going on?"
Everyone except for Nick, Greg and Gil had started moving out of the DNA lab. By the time Warrick had all the evidence sat down and logged in, only the four men were left in the lab.
Smiling Gil looked at Warrick, "you missed a great show that these two just put on. Maybe if you ask nicely they'll do it again for you."
Both Greg and Nick had turned a bright red.
Warrick glanced between the three men finally stopping on Nick, "you finally asked him out on a date. It took you long enough."
Greg looked at Nick then Warrick, "he didn't ask me out on a date."
Gil and Warrick sounded almost like one voice, "what do you mean?"
"Well, Nick tricked me into a kiss and then following him home. But he never asked me on a date. I sort of, just kind of, started living at his place. His bed is more comfortable than mine. I sleep better at his place. And we're great at getting each other to work on time."
"Greg! You're the one that said you were moving in tomorrow that first day. Remember? I said we should date first."
"I remember. But you still never asked me out, at least not an official 'do you want to do out on a date'?" Greg was smiling as he locked eyes with Nick. "You ask if I was coming over, did I want to go out to eat, see a show, go with you to the bar or a casino but never a date." Greg kissed Nick lightly on the lips. "But I really don't care as long as I get to stay in the bed with you."
Warrick was smiling than went all serious, "Gil, maybe we should give them some privacy. I'm really not into the idea of watching them, if you know what I mean."
Gil almost laughing, "I really think they should be the ones to go…" Gil moved his hand motioning to the glass then continued, "…maybe the supply closet. I've noticed that they seem to need a lot of supplies lately but the inventory hasn't changed any."
Gil and Warrick started snickering as they left the lab. They left a very red faced Nick and Greg staring after them.
Nick looked at Greg and whispered, "you don't think, they really know about Saturday, do you?"
"They couldn't or they wouldn't have been asking if…Gil is just playing with us. You know the dinners, yeah, that's it." Greg said trying to convince them both. "You did get a little loud before I put the paper towel in your month."
"I was doing okay until you started with the fingers." Nick whispered back.
Greg smiled as he remembered Saturday night and blowing Nick in the supply room, "I guess adding the fingers, was a bit over the edge but I didn't hear you complaining that night. As remember it was more like "Greg more please more" before I got the paper towel."
"Okay, but it did help me get in a better mood. And I rewarded you later."
"You sure did! Maybe next time you can blow me in the supply room."
Gil stopped at the door of the lab, "Hey Nick, how about giving me the report on the vehicle and Greg…"
Greg looked at Gil, "yes?"
"…get back to work. There's still almost an hour on the shift."
Nick gave Greg a quick kiss, turned and followed Gil out of the lab to his office. Greg returned to the work he had been doing before Nick came in.
Nick got a call as he was finishing up the report with Gil on the vehicle. It was from the doctor at Veterinarian Hospital. He told Nick the second number was the new owner. Her mother had died about four months ago and they had been having problems keeping the dog in the yard. It kept breaking out of the fence to go back to his old home. They had tried everything including a chain which is what the dog had broken as well as their fence before crossing the road. She was very thankful to know about what had happen to the dog. The doctor added that the report should be mailed by the end of the week.
Greg and Nick left the lab together at the end of shift. They took Greg's vehicle as they no longer needed to keep up a front. Nick's vehicle needed to be worked on. The first stop was the Uhaul store to make a reservation for a truck and to get some boxes. Next stop was Greg's apartment. They carried the boxes in. They had planed on spending a couple of hours each day working on packing before going to Nick's bed to sleep.
This first day they had already used packing time just getting the truck and boxes taken care of. So they decided to spend just a little more time going over what furniture Greg wanted to keep and took the measurements. Back at Nick's they hit the bed, sound asleep in minutes.
They had set the alarm for three hours before work so that they could have a little time for each other. Greg slipped out of the bed before the alarm went off. Seeing that he had about a half an hour he headed for the office.
Greg had thought about his friend Mike that morning. Walking around his apartment he realized that most of the furniture he really didn't need anymore. Mike on the other hand could probably use most of it. Greg thought how lucky he was and how unlucky Mike had been over the last year.
First Mike's wife kicked him out of the house they had just bought. The only good thing is that they had no children together and had only been together for two years. Second the divorce settlement went in his favor, everything was split and she had to buy him out of the house. She even paid him for his part of the furniture that she kept. He had used the settlement to buy this big old house. It was something he could fix up and sale to make a profit. And he felt like he really didn't need much in the way of furniture, a bed, TV, stereo, and a couch. That had been the plan that he told Greg.
Mike had just finished painting the place, putting in new carpet and refinishing all the hard wood floors when his sister, Kim showed up. She had packed up her three kids and escaped from her abusive husband to land on his doorstep. Mike of course, took them all in; Kim, Jackie, 6, Kris, 7 and Marcus, 12. He had put all his money into the house so they had to make do with what few things he had been able to buy or borrow from friends.
Greg picked up the phone and called Mike. They made a deal on the furniture. Mike could have all but a few pieces in exchange for helping with the move. As Greg was finishing up with his call to Mike, Nick stood in the door smiling.
"He needs the stuff and I don't. This way we get help with the move." Greg explained.
"Greg" Nick slowly walked over to Greg.
Greg was looking up at Nick, "Yes"
"I think it's a very nice thing you're doing. They don't really have to help but I think you did it that way so that your friend would feel better about taking the stuff. Have I told you today how much I love you?"
"No"
Nick pulled Greg into a passionate kiss. They started a slow movement towards the bedroom where they made love before getting ready for work.
The next three days flew by as Greg and Nick worked their shifts then went to the apartment and packed for a few hours before going home to collapse on Nick's bed. Somehow they had managed to get everything packed. Gil also gave them three days off for the move.
Mike, his sister and her kids where there on the first day, moving day. First they loaded the truck with everything that was going to Mike's. Next was everything for Nick's. They had everything moved and the place cleaned out by late afternoon. Boxes were set all around Nick's place but the guys headed straight for the bed and fell on it. They were sound sleep as soon as their heads hit the pillows.
