The Switch
Nine
PART NINE
Tori
awoke early the next morning. She
hadn't slept well during the course of the night due to the constant hounding
of nightmares she was having about Cupid.
Finally, right before the sun rose, she gave up on trying.
For a long time she just
snuggled up to the warmth of the handsome, thick body next to her. Her new god and lover. The second one she had been with in her
lifetime.
What
are the odds that this would happen twice? she
mused to herself. It was unlikely for a
moral to meet any of the gods, let alone become intimate with one. And yet, here she was, wrapped in the arms
of another god. And the real
mindblower, he was another war god.
Concerned her restlessness
would disturb her new lover, she decided to get out of bed. Wrapped only in the burgundy sheet to ward
off the chill from the stone walls of the room, she stood by the large picture
window and absently gazed out over the beautiful gardens. Her dreams about killing Cupid kept running
through her mind. She so wanted her
revenge on the worm, but thought it would not be possible. Since she had decided to join with Ares
there was no way for her to get back, if killing him was her only option. Besides, she had agreed to stay in this
realm and work with his armies.
She
sighed heavily and then felt a pair of strong arms circle around her from the
back.
"Good
morning, my pet," Ares cooed and gave the side of her face a quick
smooch. "What could be bothering
you on such a delightful day?"
"It's nothing, really,"
she said as she turned around and put her arms around his neck, letting the
sheet fall to the floor around her.
"I guess I'm just feeling a little injudicious about how Cupid
played me for the fool. It really
pisses me off. You don't know how much
I'd love to get back at him."
Ares
chuckled. "I bet I do, but try not
to let it distract you too much.
There's not a whole lot you can do about it now. Personally, I'm glad he did what he
did." He started to run his hands
down the sides of her naked body and around to her ass.
She
tilted her head to the side questionably at his comment.
Knowing
she required more of an explanation of his remark, he continued. "If he hadn't, I wouldn't have gained
such a skilled swordsman in my fold.
Not to mention the ‘other’ qualities you possess." He raised his eyebrows up and down as he
pulled her against his hard body and started to grind his hips into her.
His compliments made her
feel better, and she slowly dropped to her knees, as she ran her hands down his
sexy chest, and took his semi-erect cock into her mouth. She started to suck and lick the gorgeous
muscle and within seconds, the god was moaning.
"Oh,
yes!" he whispered. "This
Cupid was an idiot to let you get away, Tori.
Mmmm!"
~*~*~*~*~
A
few hours later, Ares finally let Tori out of the bed to eat breakfast. She had worked up quite an appetite between
the previous night and that morning's activities. She didn't say much during breakfast since she was too busy
eating. Before she had finished, Ares
got up and was dressed with a thought.
"Tori,
I have to take care of something. I'm
not sure how long I'll be gone. Why
don't you spend today familiarizing yourself with the temple grounds? Introduce yourself to my staff. Relax in the gardens. Once I've completed my task and acquired the
additional power I need, we can discuss some strategies on how to fight the
light."
Tori
quickly grabbed the mug of juice and washed down a mouthful of food. "But doesn't that require killing a
virgin?"
"Yeah,
so?"
"So,
where are you going to get one?"
"Why,
the village of Ramel, of course. They
still own me a virgin or two, and I bet I won't have any problems finding one
this time."
"So
you know the villagers lied to protect the girls that day?"
"That
became quite obvious as soon as I found out that you were sent on
purpose."
"And
you know that they'll be expecting you to return?"
He laughed. "So what! I'm the God of War. What
can they do to me?"
Tori
took another swallow of juice and reached for a piece of bacon. "Perhaps nothing. But Hercules, on the other hand . . ."
"HERCULES? HERCULES!
THAT SWINE OF A WANNA BE!" Ares raged. "What do you know about Hercules?" His carefree attitude abruptly left him and
hatred filled his eyes.
Tori
half-expected his reaction, so she was not fazed at all by the sudden change in
his mood. She casually continued
eating, not really paying him too much attention.
"Well,
nothing really. Only that he is a good
friend of Iolaus and a rival of yours.
One of the reasons I volunteered to be your ‘virgin’ was to allow Iolaus
enough time to seek out Hercules and bring him back to the village to help
protect them."
Ares
paced the floor in front of the bed, running a hand through his hair and
mumbling. "That little rat! I should have finished him off that day you
showed up in the forest. But I allowed
you to distract me. Well, you better
believe that the next time I see his ugly face, I'm gonna . . ."
"Oh,
Ares!" she interrupted, "Just leave him be. He's nothing compared to you and your greatness. Insignificant. Why even waste the energy?"
"If
I didn't know better, Tori, I might think you like him."
She
remained silent.
"You
DO like him, don't you? Well, I'll have
none of that. You belong to me now and
you have no need of him any longer. You
have no need of anyone except ME. Do
you understand?"
"Ares!"
she said unbelievingly.
Supremacy
flashed in his eyes, directed at her.
"DO YOU UNDERSTAND?"
"I
understand," she said casually.
"Does that mean you'll leave him alone?"
"What
I do or do not choose to do is none of your concern, Tori." He stopped pacing and stood glowering at
her.
She
defiantly stared right back.
"Bullshit! When it concerns
a friend of mine, it concerns me."
Tori was walking a thin line with the god and pushing it all the more.
Ares
rushed her and pulled her from the chair by the shoulders. "How dare you challenge me, woman! You are but a mere mortal, not a god. Do you think you can stop me from doing
whatever I want to whomever I want?"
He shoved her back in her seat.
"I think not."
Tori
huffed. "Fine, Cupid! Do what you want. I didn't have to tell you about Hercules, ya know."
Ares
glared at her with eyes that could cut steel.
"What did you just call me?"
"You heard me! I called you Cupid,
cause you're acting just like him."
She got up and started to get dressed.
"I thought you were better than him. I thought you were worth it, worth giving you my life and my
loyalty. Looks like I've been a poor
judge in charr, ar, again."
Ares
walked over to her and swung her around by her arm to face him. "You must have a death wish,
woman. No one speaks to me like that
and lives."
Tori
threw aside the tunic she holdholding and held her arms out from her
sides. "Go ahead. Kill me, if you want. I don't care. I've got nothing to live for.
You were my last hope, my savior, my god. I thought you wanted me to serve you. But I obviously mean nothing to you. It's all about you, isn't it?
So, I should give my life to you and expect nothing in return? Gods, put me out of my misery right
now."
Oh,
she's a real spitfire, Ares thought
while she was ranting. This is exactly
what he liked about her. Willing to
speak her mind, stand up to him and to accept the consequences of her
actions. He had to admit he admired her
for it. A smirk crossed his face and
then he started to bust out laughing.
He released her arm.
Tori
was seething now. "Did I say
something funny?" she inquired, putting both hands on her hips.
"You're
one bold little girl," he said as he moved closer to her, wrapping his
arms around her. He kissed her
forehead. "I will leave Iolausone one . . . this time. But if
you ever call me Cupid again . . ."
She
backed out of his arms and looked up at him.
"Really?" He
nodded. "Thank you," she said
as she kissed his cheek. Picking up her
tunic, she finished dressing.
"Ares,
I've been thinking, is a virgin the only source you can draw this power from?”
He
thought for a moment and then answered.
“Yes. A virgin is the closest
thing to being divine, other than an actual god. Why?”
“What
do you mean by divine?” she asked, wanting to be sure she understood the
guidelines of the sacrifice.
“Well,
the blood of the sacrifice must be pure.
Anything less than that would not be accepted; it's not
acknowledged. Other than animals,
virgins are the only things we’ve found that are acknowledged. However, the animal sacrifices are far less
effective.”
“Divine,
huh? Would that also include the blood
of a god, then?”
“I
suppose so, yes. But no god would ever
think to sacrifice another one. Zeus
would ha fia fit . . .”
As
Ares watched Tori’s face, he recognized the forming of an idea she was having,
and by her smirk, it was sinister.
“Tori, why are you smiling like that?
What are you thinking?”
"I
have an idea that I think might just benefit us both," she smiled
wickedly. "Tell me what you think
about this . . . "
~*~*~*~*~
Ares
sat across the table from Tori, envisioning her plan in his mind. He was rather impressed that this woman, one
who looked as average as the next, could have such devious thoughts.
But
she was far from average, at least when it came to her mind and skills. Instead of spending her time trying to
improve her looks, her femininity, so she could catch a man and be taken care
of in life, she had rather practice her sword or study battle tactics. Those were the kinds of things that were
useful in her line of work, not how to concoct a mud pack or learn how to walk
gracefully in a fancy dress.
Yet,
under all that tough attitude, strip away the leather battle gear and weapons,
there lay a sensuous woman with a simple beauty that one could gaze upon for
eternity. She had bountiful breasts and
a well rounded, yet toned hourglass shape that she kept hidden under her boyish
style of dress. And when her hair
wasn't pulled back, it added just enough softness to her face to reveal the
beautiful woman within. Ares felt his
cock starting to harden and shifted in his seat to relieve the pressure. He hadn't desired a mortal woman like this
since he had met Xena.
"Well,
what do you think?" She looked up
at the war god with excitement in her eyes.
"I
think you're incredibly sexy when you talk of such duplicity," he said
while his eyes draped over her body.
"Keep talking, you're turning me on." His desire was more than apparent.
"Come
on, Ares! Have you been listening at
all or can't you think about anything else for a moment?" she
laughed. "No, really, do you think
it will work?"
"With
a little fine tuning, the plan has merit, yes.
I will have to take a trip to the other side first. But I'm sure he'll agree to play
along."
"Excellent!"
she remarked.
"So,
now that you've managed to solve one problem, I have another one that needs
tending to." He looked down at his
growing bulge and smirked. "This
soldier seems to be a little out of line." His chin was tilted down and he looked up at her through his
eyelashes. "A good beating might
just straighten him out," he said seductively.
Tori smiled and shook her
head. "As you wish, my Lord."
