All I Ask of You chap 9

All I Ask of You pt 9

Grissom slowly woke and noticed that someone was stroking his hair. He leaned into the touch and smiled when he smelled her hair. “If I keep waking up like this, I could learn to love mornings.” She smiled and played with his curls.

“How do you feel?”

Grissom looked up and saw Sara’s brown eyes twinkling with mischief tinged with concern. “I’m fine.”

“Good.” She leaned down and captured his lips with a tender kiss that he thought only happened in his dreams. He reached for her and she pulled back smiling at him. “So I was thinking, how about we go for a walk today? There’s a park not far from here.”

“Of all the things to do in this city, you want to go walk in a park?”

“Why not? It’s peaceful, quiet, and shouldn’t send you into another migraine. Besides, tomorrow we go back to Vegas and the day after we’ll be back at the lab. How many chances are we going to get to just be us after that?”

He smiled and leaned up for a quick kiss. “You know I’ve always loved how you think.”

After breakfast they spent the afternoon wandering through the waterfront park and made their way to the shopping district. Sara was still getting used to how Grissom was away from the lab. “Gruesome Grissom”, “The Tin Man”, and “robot” were terms tossed around by everyone in the department when discussing Grissom. He was so controlled and detached from people most of the time that people assumed he didn’t feel, or care, or need anyone. The man she was with now was openly demonstrative with his affection, touching her nearly all the time and kissing her. It wasn’t that she minded; it was just different than what she was used to. Grissom saw the confusion drift across her beautiful eyes and asked her if she was all right as he pulled her close.

“Yeah I’m fine. It’s just…well…you’re always such a private person at work. You’ve touched me more in the past minutes than you have in the last five years working together. Not that I mind you touching me, but this goes against everything I know about you.”

“Another piece of the Grissom puzzle that doesn’t fit?”

“Exactly.”

Grissom stood behind Sara while they waited for a table at a little restaurant and wrapped his arms around her. “Sara, Sara. You’re a scientist. You of all people should know your theories on how I behave are flawed. Tell me have you ever seen me in love with someone, and acting on it?”
“Until this trip? No.”

“So what makes you think this is out of character for me? Besides, once we’re back home we’ll have to be careful and discrete. At least until I get things worked out with Ecklie and the sheriff. I don’t want them making things hard for you because they don’t like me.”

Sara turned her head to look at him. “You think they’d do that?”

Grissom brushed her hair away from her face. “With both of our histories with Ecklie? I think it’s a definite possibility. Since I’m your supervisor it’s at his discretion what happens when they find out about us. With our solve rates it would be possible for him to overlook us being together, but if he really wanted to he could fire one or both of us. Of course knowing what a prick he is, I wouldn’t put it past him to fire you and try to make my life hell.” He pulled her back tight against him and kissed her cheek. “Don’t worry about Ecklie. I’ll handle him. If he tries to fire you, I’ll quit first. There are plenty of other things I can do that have nothing to do with that lab.”

Sara leaned her head back against his shoulder and smiled. “There are other things I can do too. There are other labs including some private ones close to Vegas. I’ve been thinking about going back to school anyway, so that’s an option. I may not be independently wealthy or anything, but I do have options. You don’t have to give up your career to try and defend me to that pompous ass. You love the lab.”

His beard tickled her neck when he nipped at her ear. “Yeah, but I love you more. Let’s not worry about Ecklie right now. Tomorrow we fly back, the day after we’re back at work. Right now it’s just you and me, and we can do what we want since no one knows us here.”

Sara felt her stomach plummet to her feet and Grissom’s pulse speed up when she heard someone calling “Dr. Grissom.” He pulled back from her until his hands were just lightly resting on her hips while he looked for the person calling him. He let her go when he saw who was coming out of the lounge toward them. The man was tall with salt and pepper hair and a tan that spoke of not being a Pennsylvania native.

“Dr. Gil Grissom. Of all the people I expected to run into here, you were not one of them. The last I heard you were working in Las Vegas.”

“I still am. There was a conference I was presenting at here, and just hung around for a vacation.”

The man had seen him holding Sara and glanced over at her. “I’m sorry if I was interrupting anything. But damn Gil, is she young enough?”

An older woman with blonde hair stepped up behind the man and smiled. Grissom smiled back and looked at the man “Well pot, think you can behave yourself long enough to be introduced to her?”

Grissom slid his arm around Sara’s waist. “Ray this is Sara Sidle. Sara, meet Dr. Ray Martin. Ray is the LA County coroner. So what brings you all the way here from LA?”

“I just brought some case files for Wecht to take a look at for me.”

Sara smiled at the other man. “So did you used to work with Griss?”

The older woman behind him laughed. “You’ve even got your ladies calling you Grissom?” He shrugged. “Gil, Grissom, Griss. They all stuck. And I seem to remember that was your fault anyway.”

She stepped forward and gave him a hug. “I know but I thought by now the ladies would have something else to call you. Don’t mind us Sara. We all go way back. I’m Stacy Martin by the way.”

They were able to get a table for the four of them in the restaurant and had a nice evening together. It took Sara less than ten minutes to piece what she heard in the conversation together and come up with who Stacy was. “So how did you and Dr. Martin meet?”

“First of all, lose the Dr. Martin. It’s Ray. You keep up with that Doctor stuff and I’ll never get his head into our hotel. How we met, well that’s all Gil’s doing. He introduced us.”

Recognition flashed across Sara’s face. “You’re that Stacy. You went to high school with Grissom and he helped you in chemistry.”

Stacy laughed. “You told her about that?”

Grissom smiled. “Well she asked why everyone calls me Grissom. What was I supposed to tell her?”

Ray chuckled at him. “Oh boy this one must be serious Gil. You’re sharing personal information with her.” He looked over at Sara. “I’m sorry. I don’t mean to make you uncomfortable or anything. But Gil here never gave anyone personal information when he worked in LA.”

Sara smiled. “He still doesn’t. I’ve worked with him for five years and he doesn’t tell anyone anything. Ok that’s not exactly true. He did tell another CSI about him playing poker. He did mention going to watch boxing to study blood spatter patterns. He mentioned he likes baseball and once he showed us how he cooked his hot dogs in college while he was trying to prove a victim was electrocuted. But ask him a direct question like how he knows how to sign, and he shuts down and doesn’t tell anyone anything. I’ve found out more about him in the last two weeks than I have in the past five years.”
“Yeah that sounds like Gil. Nothing changes does it kiddo? So tell me Sara, how did you end up with this old geezer?”

Grissom nearly spit his drink. “Hey! Watch it with the geezer comments. You’re older than I am, Ray.”

Ray smirked at him across the table. “Yeah I am. But she’s not.”

Grissom chuckled. “Like I said pot. Watch it.”

Grissom looked over at Sara and smiled. “See he forgets that I know how old he really is. He was 32 when I introduced him to Stacy here, and she was 19 at the time.”

Ray playfully took the defensive. “Hey that’s only a 13 year age difference. What is it between you and Sara here? 20 years?”

Sara rolled her eyes and looked at Grissom. “Oh he’s smooth isn’t he?” Grissom laughed and Sara looked over at Ray. “Actually I’m 14 years younger than Grissom. And before you get any other ideas I have a Masters in Theoretical Physics and I’m a CSI level 3 in Vegas.”

Grissom slid his arm around her. “Actually Sara has the highest solve rate of my CSI’s in Vegas. On any shift.”

“Well that figures. Beauty and brains to boot. You don’t do anything half way, do you Gil?”

The four laughed and joked all the way through dinner and drinks. Afterwards they exchanged numbers and emails, and then Grissom and Sara took a cab back to their hotel. The door to the suite had barely closed when Grissom pounced. His mouth latched onto hers as he backed her against the wall and unleashed his passion. If there was any doubt in her mind as to how Grissom felt about her, the intensity of his kisses melted it away. Sara found herself straddling Grissom’s thigh with his hand inside her jeans stroking her quickly to a powerful orgasm. His lips never left her skin as his free hand pulled her closer and cupped her ass as she lifted her legs and wrapped them around his hips. He walked them the short distance to the bedroom and laid her on the bed, stripping her jeans and panties off as he stood up. His own clothes quickly followed and he lowered himself onto her, his lips feasting on her neck and working his way lower. He unbuttoned her blouse as he kissed his way to her breasts. Grissom silently thanked whoever invented front closures on bras and had her breasts barred to his touch.

Sara was overwhelmed at the sensations in her body as Grissom kissed, licked, and nipped at her skin. She arched into him and cried out when he simultaneously sucked on her neck and entered her in one thrust. Her hand shot to his hip and he stilled as he pulled back and looked into her eyes. “Am I hurting you?” Sara’s eyes were closed and her head was thrown back into the mattress. She didn’t answer him and he stroked her hair until she opened her eyes to look at him. “Sara, honey, am I hurting you?” She could see the fear in his deep blue eyes and his concern touched her very soul.

“No. You’re not hurting me. Just give me a minute.”

Her fingers stroked his back and shoulders while she adjusted to him, then a rock of her hips told him she was ready. Each touch, each thrust sent her body closer to ecstasy. When Grissom took her hands and pinned them beside her head, much as he had in the layout room, she was on the brink of another orgasm. All she needed was one more touch to push her over the edge. The longer Grissom held off on giving her that touch, the more frustrated she became. She tried to pull her hand free to touch herself, but he held her fast. Sara looked up at him and saw him grinning at her with mischief in his eyes. “Damn it Griss touch me and let me come already!”

He smiled and shifted his hips to send himself just a little deeper into her. “Oh you’ll come honey. You’ll come just like this, with nothing touching you but my cock.”

Her eyes grew wide when his words sank in. “I can’t. I’ve never been able to.”

Her protests quickly turned into encouragement when he thrust deep within her and she felt her climax building even further. His thrusts grew stronger at her request and her vision began to darken as she exploded into an orgasm the likes of which she had never dreamed existed. Her inner muscles rippled around him and he followed her into bliss. Grissom gathered her into his arms and rolled them to their sides while they rode out the aftershocks of pleasure.

Sara clung to him as their breathing and hearts slowed to normal. Reality began to sink in for her and she clung to him tighter. No one had ever made her feel as safe, as cherished, or as loved as Grissom did, and she didn’t want to lose it. Tomorrow they had to return to Las Vegas and face the real world, and the thought terrified her. It was as if Grissom could read her thoughts as he stroked her back. “It will be all right Sara. I promise. No matter what happens I won’t let anything come between us. Not if I can help it.”

He felt her relax into sleep in his arms and sighed. He wished he were as easy to convince that things would be all right once they returned home. As he found his own way to sleep he was sure of two things: he wanted a life with Sara, and he was ready to fight for it if he had to.
