Chapter Nine
Other than giving directions, Brian remained silent on the ride to the loft. He was quiet as he keyed in his code and led Julian into the building, up to the top floor, and into his apartment.
Once inside, he slid the door shut and immediately shoved Julian back against the cool metal. His hands gripped Julian's shoulders almost painfully, and he leaned into him with his whole body as he plundered his mouth. Julian returned the kiss eagerly and dropped one hand down to cup the curve of Brian's ass, urging him impossibly closer.
Without breaking the kiss, Brian les has hands wander down to unfasten the buttons on Julian's shirt and then glide over the warm flesh beneath. Julian arched into his touch, his hands tugging ineffectually at Brian's shirt which was still trapped beneath his leather jacket.
Smirking slightly, Brian backed away just enough to tug off his jacket and toss aside his shirt. Julian quickly shed his own jacket and the now open shirt before moving forward to embrace Brian again. He pressed his body against Brian's and dropped his head to suck and nip at the pulse point on Brian's throat. With an animalistic groan, Brian fisted one hand in Julian's hair, encouraging him to continue his ministrations. A moment later, he grew impatient and began to slowly walk backward across the loft, dragging Julian with him.
Inch by inch, they crossed the apartment, shedding clothes along the way. They stumbled only slightly on the steps up to the bedroom, drawing a chuckle from Julian and an answering grin from Brian, and then Brian felt the edge of the mattress bump the backs of his legs. He spun Julian around and flung him down on the bed. Julian dragged himself toward the center of the mattress, and Brian followed, crawling across the bed in the manner of a panther stalking pre

Art trt time later, Julian was begging Brian to fuck him. Smirking, Brian leaned over the side of the bed to rifle through a drawer.
"Fuck," he swore softly, slamming the drawer shut.
Another drawer opened. Then slammed shut. Then another.
Brian dragged himself out of bed and disappd ind into the bathroom, only to return some minutes later looking more than a little frustrated. He retrieved his cigarettes from his jacket in the other room, lit one, and dropped down to sit on the edge of the bed.
"Brian?" Julian asked, sounding concerned.
"I don't have any fucking condoms," Brian explained.
"I..." Julian stopped. He believed in always being prepared; he knew he had condoms in the pocket of his jacket. But he decided that Brian didn't need to know that. "It's okay," he said, sitting up behind Brian. He rested his chin on Brian's shoulder for a moment, then leaned forward to brush his lips over the sensitive spot behind Brian's ear. "I guess you're just going to have to settle for a blowjob," he teased. He snagged the cigarette from Brian's hand and carefully extinguished it in the ashtray by the bed. "Lie down," he murmured.
Brian did as he was told, and Julian covered Brian's body with his own. Thharehared a lingering, passionate kiss, and then Julian started to edge away, intending to lick and suck a path down to Brian's cock. Brian stopped him, however, tangling one hand in Julian's hair to bring him down for another kiss while his other hand guided Julian's hips down to meet his own. Julian rolled his hips, grateful for the sweet friction of his cock rubbing against Brian's, enjoying the feel of Brian's body sliding against his own. He rolled his hips again, and Brian arched beneath him, gasping. Brian gripped Julian's hips tightly, guiding him into a desperate rhythm. Julian responded by slipping his arms beneath Brian's back to grasp his shoulders from behind, digging his fingertips into the flesh there hard enough to leave small bruises. They continued to rock together, clinging to one another, until at last Julian tensed and held still as a surprisingly powerful orgasm washed over him. When he came back to awareness, he realized that Brian had come as well. He chuckled softly.
"What?" Brian asked, forcing his eyes open.
"Us," Julian replied with a wide grin. He rested his forehead against Brian's and lightly brushed his nose against Brian's. "A couple of middle-aged men rutting like horny teenaged boys."
"I'm not middle-aged," Brian replied, trying to sound affronted. He was relaxed and slightly drowsy, however, so thrds rds lacked any real heat.
Julian laughed again. "You know what I mean," he said. Still chuckling, he added "I don't think I've done that since I was a horny teenager."
"College," Brian said with a grin. "With a woman, at that." The admission made Julian laugh again. After a few minutes passed, Brian lightly slapped Julian's flank. "Up," he commanded.
"Uh-uh," Julian refused, nuzzling Brian's neck.
With one smooth, practiced move, Brian flipped Julian onto his back, reversing their positions. Julian immediately wrapped his long legs around Brian's hips to hold him there. He leaned up to brush his lips against Brian's.
Betweisseisses, Brian managed to mutter "shower," and eventually Julian relented. Their amorous play continued in the shower, with Julian delivering the promised blowjob and Brian returning the favor. When they emerged at last, both clean and sated, the hour was growing late. Without exchanging any words, it was agreed that Julian would stay the night - as he had told Brian he intended to do. They didn't curl up together in the bed, but kept a comfortable distance between them, their bodies apart but touching slightly as they drifted off to sleep.

When Julian awoke the next morning, he was surprised to find Brian's side of the bed empty and cold. Struggling to sit up, he looked around for some sign of the other man.
He found a note on the table on his side of the bed.
Had to go in to the office. If you leave before I get back, don't forget to lock the door and set the alarm. The code is 587846. See you tonight?
Beside the note was a key - obviously the key to the loft. Julian wasn't quite sure to to think, but he couldn't seem to stop smiling.
After a quick shower, he called Brian's work number.
"Kinney," Brian answered the phone.
"Good morning, Brian," Julian purred.
"Ah, you're awake," Brian said, his smile evident in his voice. "I wasn't sure if you were sleeping or comatose when I left this morning."
Julian laughed. "I got your note," he said.
"Good. Don't forget to set the alarm if you leave. I've been robbed once, I really don't want to go through it again."
"I won't forget. What time are you leaving the office?"
"Probably around one. Why?"
"Because I have a surprise for you," Julian teased.
"I don't like surprises," Brian replied matter-of-factly. The last time Julian had surprised him, he had taken him to visit Justin's grave. He wasn't sure he was up to anymore such surprises.
"You'll like this one," Julian promised. "Look, I have to go out for a bit, get into some fresh clothes and whatnot. Why don't we meet up somewhere at around one o'clock?"
"The cafe by your place?" Brian suggested.
"It's kind of out of your way, isn't it? I was thinking the Liberty Diner."
Julian's suggestion was met with utter silence on Brian's end of the line.
"Brian? Are you there?"
"Sorry, just distracted," Brian lied. Truthfully, just the thought of going to the diner and facing his friends - who would undoubtedly be rallied around Michael - filled him with dread. He couldn't think of any good reason to give Julian for not meeting there, though, so he decided to bite the bullet and just go. "I'll meet you at the diner around 1:30," he said.
"Great," Julian replied enthusiastically. "Later, Brian."
"Later," Brian returned automatically. He hung up the phone and took a deep breath. It looked like it was going to be a long, hard day, and that was after he left the office. He sighed and went back to work.
