Chapter 10

Ahhh the final chapter. The site is still down. Poor Alya. But I have the story finished. Sorry no sex here. Just people trying to kill poor little Chris. Well remember this is the first part and then it is Playtime and then it is Present. Next I’ll be working on those two a lot more. Stupid school taking up my time. Soon it will be done.

My gremlin is starving. He needs reviews. He has so many pointy things bur doesn’t know if he should use them. Aww he’s crying. (I might have stepped on him this morning.) Well enjoy the chapter.

Chapter 10

Leo woke to footsteps outside his cage. He had just relived the horrors that his own flesh and blood had shown him. ‘It just goes to show you what a little trauma can do.’ He didn’t understand what was driving Wyatt so far from good. ‘But what he’s done does prove he is lost.’ Only that killing two Elders, destroying your aunt’s soul and corrupting and bedding your own brother made him evil.

Wyatt had used Excalibur to destroy Prue’s soul and then absorbed the energies from it. The power he gained no doubly caused his telekinetics to double in strength. ‘He had gone mad for power.’ It was all for power. Chris had tried to warn him. ‘This time Chris is being pulled down with him.’ He had said that Wyatt was evil and still Leo didn’t take his warning far enough. He should have been listening. ‘But did you listen?’ He should have realized that Wyatt had been damaged enough by Gideon’s first attempt on him and seeing the other Chris die trying to protect him. ‘Love blinded you. It stopped you from doing what you should have done to protect your family. To protect the world.’ He should have...no that wasn’t something he’d even consider.

Looking up, he saw Gideon. But, how? He’d killed him years ago. “It’s alright Leo. I’m here to help. I know that you had to protect them before, but now…” He paused kne knelt down. He unlocked the cage telekinetically and helped Leo sit up. “Now is time to right those wrongs. Wyatt has turned. There is nothing we can do about that but Chris…Chris can be saved still.”

“How? Tell me.” Leo was desperate. He had to save Chris; he couldn’t lose that tiny angel. “Tell me how to save Chris. I’ll do anything.”

“You may not want to.” Gideon continued slowly and calmly. “Wyatt’s hold on his brother increases every moment he is with him. Every second that Wyatt has Chris, Chris’ soul is dying. He can still be what he was meant to. He just needs you to help him get there, Leo. Do you understand?”

Leo could only shake his head no, as tears rolled down his face. How was he supposed to help make Chris an Elder now? Wyatt had destroyed all sense the boy had for right and wrong. “Leo, if Chris is given a second chance at life then in the next he could be an Elder. He needs to move on. He needs to be freed.”

Leo starred at the ground and his hands. He couldn’t kill Chris. “Even to save his soul, Leo? Chris is a good creature, but if Wyatt finished corrupting him and he kills…” Gideon closed his eyes in pain. “He will be lost for all eternity. Each life he would have would lead him to that end, evil. At least you can save one of their souls. You failed Wyatt; must you fail Chris as well, again?”

Looking up at his old mentor he knew Gideon was right. Leo had allowed love to blind him and now he had to stop a monster from destroying what was left of his son. He had to save Chris the only way that was left.

“He is still mortal in the sense of living. You can end it quickly and with little pain. He will be thankful in his next life. He will be free.”

Wyatt shimmered into the Underworld. He had Excalibur strapped to his back and was searching for dark lighter. Minnaka had said that their territory was around here and Wyatt’s presence was probably enough to draw most of them out. He needed their help for this. He needed to protect what was his.

He couldn’t get Chris’ tear-streaked face out of his mind after he had told him about Victor. They had woken up and Chris was happy. He had taken a shower and jumped back onto the bed asking Wyatt what he wanted for breakfast. He had been all smiles and cuddles until Wyatt told his to sit down. He had held the witch while he cried. And then held him again while Wyatt explained about the Elders and what they had done.

Chris hadn’t been able to take the betrayal and emptied his stomach on the floor beside the bed. Wyatt had laid him down and cleaned up the mess. He got Chris dressed and under the covers again. Placing the cherub under the sleep spell hadn’t been his favorite option but it accomplished what was needed. Chris was now resting and wouldn’t wake until he returned or if any of the wards were tripped that Wyatt had set up. If the creature could get past the ones surrounding the bedroom he would be amazed.

He spotted the leader and walked confidently up to him. They had a common goal. They had a chance to bring about the end of an era. And start a new one where magic took it’s rightful place as did mortals, below them.

Leo orbbed into the living room. He half hoped that Chris would be in here and he could get it over with. ‘Get it over quickly.’ The other half of him wished he was at school and would never come home. ‘And let him turn fully and help his brother destroy the world?’ His eyes scanned over the various pictures and knick-knacks that littered the tables and ledges. Wyatt’s trophies and Chris’ books were everywhere. ‘Signs of their innocents. Did they really every truly have any?’ His heart cried out at the thought of never holding his sons again. ‘They aren’t really your son’s Leo. They are just shadows of what once was. Of what was never meant to be.’ He wanted to cry again but knew that Chris would be warned about him then. Chris was an empath and if Leo wanted this to be quick he needed to get close to him.

He didn’t want his own son to suffer because fate was cruel and out to destroy him. ‘You have to help him.’ This’d save him. Leo kept telling himself this. ‘He will turn if you don’t.’ He had too or else he’d break down and fail Chris again. ‘How many times had you failed him? He begged you to be his father the second time around but you left again.’ Closing his eyes he sensed that Chris was upstairs asleep. ‘Like the angel he will soon be.’ Breathing out a sigh he hoped he could do it while he stayed sleeping. ‘Yes quickly before anyone stops you.’ That way Chris wouldn’t have the opportunity to be frightened. He hated seeing Chris scared. ‘In his innocents he could never understand why anything should be frightening.’ It tore at his heart when Chris was five and ran to his mommy for protection from a thunderstorm. ‘She had kept him safe. But you couldn’t.’ The bright flashes and sudden loud noises had scarred his son to tears.

He knew that Piper would probably never forgive him for sending her son to her so young. ‘With just reason. You failed Chris.’ Chris had just turned 16 a few weeks ago. He hadn’t even had a chance to wish him a happy birthday or ask him if he had his license yet. Wyatt probably already had him get it. ‘He’s probably already teaching him how to shimmer and blink.’ Wyatt didn’t like waiting or letting other people wait.

Growling at the thought of what was residing in his oldest son’s body he nearly heaved. ‘It is corrupting your son.’ It was the reason he had to do this. ‘It stole his innocents along with his virginity.’ It was what had tried to destroy them last time and it was trying again. ‘It took what it wanted and didn’t care about hurting Chris.’ Maybe Gideon was right. ‘So much power in such a tiny vessel.’ Maybe Wyatt had too much power and it was only time before he turned. ‘Even if Wyatt wasn’t here Chris might have turned too.’ Maybe if he hadn’t been an Elder he could have seen it coming. ‘He was born a half Elder. It was too much for him to control.’ But now wasn’t the time for what ifs. Now was the time to save his son’s soul.

Creeping up the stairs he immediately noticed the crystals placed around the hall to protect the sleeping child. ‘To protect a whore of Satin’s.’ Piper used to place those very same crystals out to protect the boys in their cribs. ‘She loved their innocents.’ Luckily Leo was already attuned to the crystals and quietly stepped around them. Wyatt probably forgot or thought that Leo would have no chance of getting out of the cage. ‘He was probably going to kill you soon too so didn’t worry one little bit.’ Creeping to the master bedroom he saw Chris.

His face was paler then usual and there were trails going down his face where tears still flowed even sleeping. He could feel Chris pain as if it were tangible. Chris probably knew he was turning but couldn’t fight it. ‘He’s not that strong. You have to be strong for him.’ This Chris was never meant to be a fighter. ‘You all made sure of that.’ He was meant to be an Elder, an advisor and a protector. But never a killer. ‘He will be if you don’t finish him.’ Leo looked down at the atheme in his hand and gripped the handle tighter. He had to move fast. ‘It will be painless. He won’t even notice the transition.’ He had to do it before Wyatt returned and stopped him.

Stepping in the room he knew he could do this. ‘You can save your son.’ His son wouldn’t feel the pain of the blade slipping into his heart. He wouldn’t have to die slowly by a stab to the gut like the other one did. He wouldn’t have to turn evil. He was so wrapped up in his thought that he failed to notice the towels by Chris’ bed or the garbage can so thoughtfully placed there so if Chris was to be sick again.

Chris’ eyes shot open to the bang and he sat up as ready as a child was to fight off his attacked. Maybe running would be a good option. Looking around he saw Leo sprawled on the floor. Throwing off the covers he jumped down and helped Leo stand back up. His father had come. His dad must have sensed how upset he was and he would tell him what was going on. Wyatt couldn’t be right. The Elders couldn’t have attacked him.

Leo cursed to himself. The knife had gone under the bed and all chances to doing this without frightening Chris were gone. The boy was awake and …trying to help his father. His heart broke at the sight of Chris. The way he was dressed. The normaly shyly clothed cherub was in a tight shirt and jeans. It showed him off to whoever wanted to see him. A display of what he had to offer his lover to temp Wyatt to take him again. Looking into his innocent green eyes Leo couldn’t bear the thought of them being corrupted. They were so much like his brother’s. Would they too become cold and distant, not shedding a tear as he destroyed all those who loved them?

Leo felt Chris cuddle into him. ‘He simply wants affection and Wyatt used it into something corrupt and disgusting.’ He was crying again. ‘He needs you.’ He was mumbling something about Wyatt and the Elders and wanting to know what was going on. Maybe he could be saved. ‘No. Wyatt had hurt him so much. It would grow quietly inside of him until it would be too late to save him. Just like Wyatt.’ But the knife was lost. All Leo could use was his hands and his energy throwing.

Leo curled his arms around the trembling child. ‘Slowly don’t frighten him.’ His own tears were being lost in the soft brown hair as he held his cheek against the top of Chris’ head and shushed him. ‘Hold him; make him know you still love him and will protect his soul better then you did his innocents.’ He had to do this. Leo moved his hands slowly up to Chris’ back. ‘It must be done.’ If he didn’t break the boy’s neck he’d have to use his lightning. ‘That will hurt and frighten him, quickly.’ Slowly moving to hold his shoulders. It would be as painless as the knife.

Chris looked up at his father and pulled back slightly. “Please.” The child was begging between sobs. “Please tell me what’s wrong. What is happening to the Elders and Wyatt? Please.” Leo had one chance. ‘Take it.’ He did.

His hands moved around his son’s throat and tried to squeeze. A sharp knee to his stomach made him let go as he was flipped over the smaller man’s body and onto the other side of the bed. One of his boys was strong, the other fast. Chris just stood there for a moment starring with wide tear filled eyes at the man pretending to be his father before bolting.

That couldn’t be his father. That couldn’t be Leo. ‘Why not? He always hated you.’ He had to be in the Twilight Zone or something. ‘The Elder ignored you in favor of Wyatt. He was the son Leo wanted, not you.’ Maybe he was having a nightmare. ‘One of many you have had.’ No those hands had hurt when they grabbed his throat. He tried to orb away. Anywhere was fine by him but found that either he couldn’t calm down enough to concentrate or Leo had blocked him to prevent his escape. ‘He will kill you. Run!’

Running after his son he noticed the boy hadn’t teleported. Maybe he couldn’t when panicking. ‘He knows what has to be but is frightened. He still thinks that death is an end.’ He had to kill him quickly. He didn’t want Chris to suffer. ‘He is already scared. You have to make him understand. Make him forgive you.’ He saw Chris running for the door and shot out some lightning. It clipped Chris’ shoulder and hit the door. Blasting away all the glass it forced Chris to run the other way.

Once in the living room he tried to grab one of the many potions he knew were hidden around there. Wyatt always liked being prepared incase you’re caught off guard. ‘One to kill the demon posing as your father.’ Grabbing a dark green one he pitched it at the insanely crying Elder the moment he saw his head.

Leo sent out another bold and destroyed the bottle mid way to him. He sent another and it hit Chris’ other shoulder as he dodged. “Just give up Chris. I don’t want you to feel any more pain.” Leo tried to get closer as he saw Chris go down. The child was crying more and trying to get back up. “I’m sorry Chris. I love you. I’m sorry.” If Leo could get closer and aim it would be over in another moment.

The energy ball hit his midsection and Leo went flying back and hit the wall with all the pictures on it. Chris just stared at his hand. He had meant to tkay Leo away. This was a demonic power. ‘Maybe that means you are a demon. That you have forsaken all that you held dear because you were too weak to fight.’ He didn’t know where it came from but half didn’t care if it got the Elder away from him.

Leo slumped to the ground and saw Chris trying to run past him to the kitchen. He reached out and grabbed his ankle, tripping him. Chris hit the floor hard as Leo move to sit on his back. He was being held down as Leo gathered enough energy to end his life. “I’m sorry Chris. I’m sorry I failed you again.” Chris could only cry as he felt the air go static from his father’s powers. He closed his eyes expecting to feel the pain.

Wyatt orbbed back into the basement and heard something going on upstairs. Shimmering up he saw Leo about to kill Chris. He threw out his hand and tkayed the bastard away from his brother through a wall. Leo was stunned as he tried to comprehend what happened. Wyatt was home.

Rushing to his brother he didn’t expect the Elder to get up so fast. He was still hurting from the attack Up-there and needed to get Chris out of here. The lightning hit his left arm and made him see stars. Getting back up he drew Excalibur from the sheath on his back. He would send this Elder to the rest of them in many pieces.

Leo saw the sword and shook his head. ‘Silly child of a monster.’ He raised his hand and sent the lightning through it into his oldest son. He watched as Wyatt’s body convulsed and dropped the sacred weapon. ‘You must finish him.’ Another bolt sent Wyatt flying away from his brother’s form. ‘If you can kill him maybe then you can save Chris. Maybe then you can erase enough of Chris memories and tell him that Wyatt was the cause of all of this destruction.’ Walking over his fallen young to reach the monster trying to get its bearings he picked Wyatt up by the collar of his blood stained shirt. He had been on a killing spree. Probably hundreds of innocents lay dead because of what he and Piper had created.

He formed the energy in his hand. ‘Make it quick.’ This was for the future. ‘Save the innocents.’ This was to save Chris’ soul. ‘One life to save thousands.’

The energy dissipated and Leo looked down. Excalibur was sticking about three inches out of his chest. Dropping Wyatt he turned his head to see Chris. Chris shoved the sword fully in to the hilt. Chris had killed. He was lost. Twisting the sword to do more damage to stop the lunatic Chris saw the face move inn. Tn. Tears were flowing down both of their faces as Chris watched Leo’s body go up in flames. He felt Leo die and be consumed by hell itself.

Chris dropped Excalibur and rushed to Wyatt. He was still breathing. He needed a healer but who? No white lighter would help them now and he knew no Elder could be trusted. Closing his eyes he tried to tap into his brother’s powers and find the trigger. Wyatt had always said that healing depended on your bond with the person. He found it and let his emotions flow through them both.

Wyatt gasped and fought the air now rushing into his lungs. He had been close. He had seen death and now he was back. Looking up he saw Chris. Sweet injured Chris. Wyatt sat up and put his hands over the burns. Healing them didn’t take much
. He loved his brother more then anything. He would always.

Pulling Chris against him he crushed the cherub to his chest as they both cried. Wyatt never wanted Chris to have to kill. He never wanted Chris to be harmed. He had failed. His brother sobbed into his chest as Wyatt tried again to shush him. He rubbed his brother’s back while kissing the top of his head and rocked him. “No one will ever try to hurt you again.” Chris looked up into his lover’s eyes. Tear filled green met determined ice blue. Wyatt’s eyes were different now. The caring and protecting there had become more fierce and possessive. “No one will every be able to again.” Kissing his lips Wyatt felt the trembles go through the little cherub. “No one will ever dare again.”

Flaming back to the underworld Gideon’s form shifted to Barbas’. Lift up one of his hand he tapped his wrist with the other and a smile. “Bad Barbas.” Tap. “Destroying them all. Bad bad bad Barbas.”
