Finding Her
Part 8
2 months later
It was two months later and still Dez had not been found. All of Olympus seemed to shut down. Temples closed until further notice. Hera Zeus, Ares and Bliss were holding council and trying to ignore the rants of Joxer and Cupid.
"Bliss maybe we should consider that Desire might be dead." Zeus said. It pained him to say so, but there was absolutely no trace of his great- granddaughter.
"No!!!" Bliss slammed his fist down on the table. "She's not dead. I would know if she was dead."
"HAHAHAHAHA!!!!!" Joxer's laughter filled the room. "He's right you know. They're most likely torturing her."" The mad God of Chaos sat laughing and rocking. Cupid made a lunge for him but his chains pulled him up short.
Hera sighed and looked at Ares. He was not doing to well. It was hard to watch her child suffer.
"Mother are you sure, we can't scry for her? Maybe we overlooked her signature or theirs." The God of war said trying to inject some hope into the situation.
She nodded sadly, "Yes. I'm afraid unless they give us some clue as to clue as to where they are, we'll never find them."
At that very moment a box and scroll appeared. The box floated to Hera and the scroll to Zeus.
"To Bliss and Cupid. Those who remain." Was all it said.
"Merciful Gods!!!" Hera pulled out the contents of the box into view.
The others, except for Joxer were shocked into silence. In Hera's hands were Dez's mutilated and bloody wings.
Whether it was the smell of blood or the sight of his daughter's wings, no one is sure, but Cupid began to struggle free of the chains. It was pointless. The Hepheastian metal wouldn't give, but Hera could have sworn she saw the metal stretch just a tiny bit.
Bliss was staring at the wings. His mind of Dez. The wings had been cut jaggedly and were carved upon. Feathers were missing. Ares had turned away in disgust. Callisto and Psyche would pay with their lives.
///Somewhere?///
Dez sagged against her chains. Her body racked with pain and a part of her wanted to die. The days and weeks had blurred together in her mind. 'You can't die. Think of Bliss and the children.' Dez had realized she was pregnant with twins sometime ago and was determined to get out of this alive.
When the two had cut off her wings, the pain had been so great it made her faint. She looked up at the sound of footsteps. "How could you do this?" She asked for what must have been the thousandth time.
Psyche smirked as replied, "Easily. They betrayed me. My own son and husband. Strife stole them form me." The coldness of her voice made Dez sick to her stomach.
"And then you took me. Because I'm his."
"Bingo." Callisto answered her, stepping out of the shadows. "'Sides we got to hurt Ares and that Idiot Joxer all in one." She slung a plate of food in from of Dez. The smell and sight of it made Dez's stomach lurch violently.
Psyche watched as the young Goddess fought her nausea and hissed, "You whore." She slapped Dez so hard and quickly that she didn't have time to cry out.
"What's wrong love?" Callisto purred.
"This...this little tramp is carrying." Then a gleam came into her eyes and she looked at her lover. "Calli are you thinking what I'm thinking?"
Callisto nodded, catching on. "Yes. I am. Maybe we should share with her."
"You see Dez, you have just give us a new toy." Psyche said evilly.
"Bitch," she spit at her. "Don't you dare touch my child."
The Two laughed and left arm in arm. Dez began to cry softly. ///Bliss. I'm so sorry.///
Back at Olympus Bliss was staring off into space when he heard Dez's faint prayer. "She's alive. I can hear her thoughts."
"Try and concentrate on her. Maybe we can locate her." Ares said. They watched as Bliss turned into himself.
"She's in a cave or temple. Bleeding. Wait mother's coming..." The connection was broken.
"Bliss?" Hera asked. She was worried. If they had found out Dez could contact them, then she was in great danger.
"Psyche was coming and..." Bliss trailed off as he fell to the ground screaming in agony. Everyone watched in horror as red cuts and welts appeared on his body. Whatever was happening to Dez was happening to bliss. It lasted for five long agonizing minutes and then suddenly stopped.
"Bliss are you okay?" Ares rushed to his grandson's side and helped him up. Bliss looked up at him.
"I can't feel her anymore. Not her energy, life. Nothing." Bliss hung his head. It was if he was saying she was dead. His heart was screaming at him though not to believe it. Dez would come back to them and he would wring the life from his mother's body.
