Chapter 9
“I don’t care what anyone says,” Kimberly pushed the pause button. “That was beautiful.”
“Whoo,” Aisha breathed outward. “That was definitely something. Wow.”
“I just need a minute to wrap my mind around that,” Tommy admitted as he swallowed.
“All of this was going on right under our noses,” Adam said and ran a hand over his face.
“And we never suspected a thing,” Rocky said and shook his head.
“Yeah, but in our own defense, it wasn’t something that was going to come up casually in conversation either. I mean, I can just see it,” Jason said as he waved his hand. “Hey, Billy, Zordon, you seem to be spending a lot of time together lately. Are you having Glow Sex?”
Zack choked on his laughter, and shook his head. “Oh yeah, the subtle approach. Works every time.”
“The sad thing is, that they really seemed to have something special,” Kimberly frowned. “It must have been really hard on Zordon to have to let Billy go. You know, when he got sick.”
“Only one way to find out,” Aisha said, and pushed the play button.
“And that, Rangers, is what I wanted you to see. Not out of some sick, voyeuristic shock fantasy, but to let you know that William and I truly were in love. It was not a casual thing, nor was it just an old head seducing a young body for fun. Had he not fallen ill, it is very easy to imagine that we still would have been together in some form.
“You are aware of the circumstances that surrounded William’s aging illness. How it was a delayed reaction from regaining his age when you had been turned to children. How the Aquitians had their version of the fountain of youth and cured him with it.
“However, it was after that I learned that William had disappeared. First, weeks passed, and he hadn’t contacted me . . . us. I admit, that while I am a very old and very wise being, I am also capable of some very strong emotions, not the least, unfortunately, being jealousy . . . and as you know from experience, jealousy is quite debilitating. However, as the weeks became months, and still I . . . we . . . had not heard from him, I started to try and contact him.
“At this point, the torch had been passed to the Turbo Rangers from Adam, Tanya, and Kat, to Ashley, Cassie, and Carlos, and as a new group, they needed me. I continued to try and contact Aquitar, but it seemed, when I tried, William was either busy, or the signal from the planet was too weak.
“I even had Alpha try and create a signal booster, but without William here to assist, the constant attacks, and the forces of evil amassing beyond the scope of our planet, there was very little Alpha could do, and the universe needed me more at that point, or so I believed, than William did.
“And then I was taken, and you know the rest. The space Rangers saved me, only to need my energy to bring the balance of Good and Evil back to the universe. However, while I was on Astronema’s ship, but after the attacks had begun on the various planets, I received this transmission from Aquitar.”
“Zordon!” One of the Aquitian rangers, they couldn’t tell which one due to the fuzziness of the transmission, and the fact the being was so badly injured, called, almost desperately. “Aquitar has fallen! The forces of Evil have evaporated most of our surface water, and we are dying of dehydration by the hundreds! Perhaps this is our punishment, and it is just, I suppose, but you need to know this. Billy Cranston, also known as the former Blue Ranger, is not with us now.
“I wish I could say he was safe, but I honestly do not know.
“What you were told last, was true. Billy had recovered completely from the aging sickness, and he was young again, but that’s as far as it was true. Unknown to us, Cestria had been sent by our government to retrieve Billy, and use him as a bargaining chip with one of our enemies, whose prince found Billy’s Human form pleasing to him, the last time he’d been here. Our government agreed to hand Billy over to the Prince, and in return, he agreed not to attack our planet, if we would give Billy to him.
“We, meaning the Rangers, did not know this, for if we had, we would never have let this happen to him. However, our government thought that with the forces of evil amassing and attacking border planets, they didn’t need to already be in a war when the main war came to our door.
“The government has fallen, utter chaos is prevailing, and several previously secret arrangements we were unaware of have since come to light, this being one of them, and the transmission I’m going to send, being the other. I know you are unable to do anything about this now, but perhaps, when you are able to be freed, this will help you in some way.”
