Summary: Greg and Don are down in Miami to visit Ryan. While they are there they get Ryan to go with them on a date to the zoo.

Zoo

Ryan was glad for the time off from work. After having a less than stellar acceptance into the group Ryan was still wary of the team and their intentions. So when Greg and Don called, telling him that they were coming down to spend a week with him, Ryan took the time off to spend it with his lovers.

He knew that there were many things that would have to be taken care of, but Ryan was glad that he could step out of the lab and keep away from the team. He smiled at the date that Greg wanted today, the zoo. While Greg was a few months older than Ryan, he had the exuberance of a twenty year old. Ryan didn’t care and was just happy to spend a day with his two lovers.

Ryan knew that he would have to meet his lovers at the Zoo, as they would put their belongings inside Ryan’s car. Upon meeting them Ryan had to hold back his emotions. Don looked as good as ever, and thankfully he wasn’t wearing one of his ties. Greg was breath taking, considering he had been blown up recently inside his own lab. As Ryan greeting his lovers he never noticed Eric and Calleigh watching him.

The trio entered the Zoo, giving Ryan the time to relax before Don would pounce with questions. Both he and Greg knew that something was wrong with their lover after the joy of being a CSI turned into resignation. Don was willing to bet on his cookies that the team wasn’t being very accepting due to their recent loss. Greg had wanted to ask Ryan after a few beers, but realized that his lover might not get time off.

Eric and Calleigh saw the transformation in Ryan as h spent time with his guests and noticed the tension leaving him. Blinking at change both wondered why he was so tense in the first place. They would get the chance to find out though as the trio stopped at a bench that had bushes around it.

“Hey Ry, I know that you’ve always wanted to be a CSI, but why are you so down as of late?” Greg curled into his lover as he watched the sadness creep back into the expressive green eyes.

“I know that my entrance into the CSI world was at a bad time, with Timmy dying and all, but I expected his friends to still be open to having a new team member to take off the extra case loads. I remember just going over to my cousin’s place to hear about the cool people that he worked with, only to find out that they are cruel and bitter people.” Ryan’s voice was filled with tears, but not one drop fell from his eyes.

Eric and Calleigh sat behind the bushes in shock. Ryan Wolfe was the cousin that Tim was going to introduce to the team the day he got shot. Hearing the pain filled voice and the dejected slump in his should both felt extremely guilty for how they treated the young man.

Horatio’s words entered their minds. “I would like all of you to treat Ryan with respect and to not punish him with your memories of Speed. He has also lost, and if you project your pain onto him, it will be worse in the long run for the lab.”

“Hey, you know that Mac loves to work with you, so if you need it you can transfer to New York. Also, I know that the CSI’s in Vegas love you as well, so either way you can still love your job.” Don’s voice was compassionate and Eric had to stop himself from telling the guy that Wolfe would stay in Miami, even if he knew it was Ryan’s choice.

Ryan gave a small smile to his lovers and shook his head. Giving both a soft kiss, the trio left the zoo for further adventures at home. Eric and Calleigh were both shocked at the display of affection, and realised that Ryan was a person who needed physical contact. Both were deeply ashamed of their actions and left for the lab to inform Alexx of what they learned.

When Ryan was brought home by his two lovers, he couldn’t help but wonder how things would be if his coworkers had treated him with some dignity from the beginning. His thoughts were soon interrupted when Horatio came by to meet up with Greg and Don again while he rested.

As Horatio gave a more detailed explanation to Greg and Don about how the lab was treating Ryan, Ryan decided that Vegas would be a nice place to live. Making his way into the living room, Ryan got the attention of his guests.

“I’ve been giving what you said some though, Don, and I believe that I would do better in Vegas. Horatio, while I love working with you like you did with Tim, I just wish that the lab was a bit more accepting of me as a person.” He looked his boss in the eye and got a sad smile in return.

“I’ll get your transfer done immediately Ryan, and I am sorry that you have to leave due to the simple-mindedness of the people we work with. You do not need to apologize for looking after your best interests.” Giving Ryan a small smile he gathered the young man in his arms and held him close.

“I can give you one promise H, I will keep in contact with you and be her for you if you ever need a person to talk to. I know that Tim was your confidant, and that you have a tendency to bottle things up, but I will only be a phone call away.” Ryan returned the hug as he spoke, missing the sad smiles of his lovers.

As they finished up the evening, Horatio promised that he could fly out to Vegas today and get everything set up as he dealt with the paperwork. Giving a rare smile to Horatio in thanks, Greg and Don began to help Ryan pack.

While their date at the Zoo was more of an outing, Ryan was glad for it, as it helped him home in on what he needed in life and how he should go about it.

The End!!!!

AN: I know that people might have been expecting Smut or something similar, but I needed to write this one to help prepare for the next story. Cheers my fellow friends and writers! Hope you enjoyed it!
