Atreks
Chapter Eight
Atreks
“Say Grace”. She said putting her hands together. The children followed; The Doctor did too but had a silly grin on his face. “For What We Are About To Receive, May Lord Make Us Truly Grateful, For Jesus Christ, Amen”. She said and started eating her supper, the others followed. “What was that all about”? The Doctor whispered to her.
Nicola stopped for a moment to pick up her cup of tea. “Just because their “Father” wanted to rule the world or what not, doesn’t mean they have to follow. He left them with me, so I can teach them good”. She said going back to her meal.
“That’s a good idea. Maybe when it’s time for them to you know what, maybe they’ll teach their children the same way”. The Doctor said.
After they’d finished, Nicola and The Doctor washed up while the children played with a ball the Doctor gave them. “We’ve landed at Atreks”. He said as he dried up a plate she gave him, she nodded. “There are animals similar to earths animals, I’ll help catch a few and they can look after them”. He said. “Mum can we go out and play”? Asked a voice. Nicola looked around and saw a ten-year-old Adam. “Ask the Doctor, it's his ship after all.” she said then looked at the Doctor with worry. “Sure come with me you lot, remember to hold hands”. He said to them. Nicola held Rose’s hand and they walked to a new room, Nicola’s never seen before. The Doctor turned a light on, inside was a room filled with toys. “Enjoy, only each of you, when you leave can have one toy each”. He said to them as they ran inside screaming with delight. “They’ll be fine here, I’ll need your help in building houses for them”.
The Doctor said to her, Nicola nodded.
They left the children in the care of the TARDIS; they went out of the room and into the control room. “I’m not sure if I can say goodbye to them Doctor”. She said. “I know it’s hard, I’ve grown quite fond of them myself”. He said putting an arm on her shoulders. They stepped outside and looked around. What they saw was trees and grass, they walked abit more and they saw rivers and mountains, Nicola look into the sky and saw two moons. “I’ve got some tents inside The TARDIS, we can set up camp for tonight and when the sun shines, we can teach the kids how to survive here”. The Doctor said to Nicola. “It’s perfect”. She said. “Come on”. He said holding out his hand to her, which she took and headed back inside The TARDIS….
