Harry’s New Family

After all three of them changed into their Chopec outfit, five Chopec worriers walked out of the woods.
[Hello Enrique, Anadarko.] Said one of the worriers.
[Hello, Pecalo.]
[Shaman Amado and Chief Adelio, are expecting you.]
“Pa, who dat?” Harry asked Blair. Not realizing what he said.
But Blair did and was very happy. Bending down, “These our friends. Say hello Harry.” Blair said, and tells Harry what to say.
[Hi]
Pecalo smiled at Harry, [He learns quickly.]
[Yes, and we’re very proud of him.] Said Blair.
[Come, the shaman is waiting] Pecalo said, as he began walking towards the woods.
Ten minutes later, they reached the Chopec village, [Wait here. I will get Amado.]
A minute later the Chief and Shaman walked out of the Shaman’s hut, [Welcome Enrique, Anadarko. I see you have brought the child of magic.] Looking down at
Harry Amado see what the killing curse has done, [This child must be purified or the evil will devour him.]
[That is why we came to you great one. An evil sorcerer killed this child’s parents and tried to kill him.] Explained Anadarko.
[Yes, I can see that some of the evil still resides in him. Come we will set you up with a tent.] Turning toward the Chief, [He will be a very powerful worrier when he is older. We should train him, when Enrique and Anadarko visit every year.] Amado said, as he began to walking towards the tent that was farther away then the rest of the village. Reaching the tent, [Rest today; tomorrow we will begin his purification ritual.]
Before Amado walked away, [Amado, if you take the evil away; will it take away certain gifts?] Inquired Anadarko.
[What kind of gifts?]
[He is able to talk to snakes.] Answered Enrique.
This surprised Amado and Adelio, [That is a very powerful gift. It is said, that those who can talk to snakes will be able to wield great magic, but only for the good of others. If it’s used for evil their soul will turn black as coal.] With a thoughtful look, [I only know one other person to have this gift, but that was a very long time ago. It was before our time, but it’s a very good symbol.]
[Adelio is right, it is a good symbol and it will make him a powerful child of magic.]
After discussing things between each other, [We understand. Then he should keep his gift.] Said
Enrique.
Without showing his surprise, [Very good. The purification will begin tomorrow.] Amado said, before he and the chief left the hut.
“Do you really think Harry should keep his ability to talk to snakes?” Jim asked, after Amado left.
“Yes, it will make him special. Plus you heard Amado, he will be a powerful wizard.” Blair answered, while looking over at a sleeping Harry.
“I guess you’re right.”
“We should get some rest.” Jim said, in a tired voice.
It was around five o’clock when Harry woke up from his nap, and was a little disorientated from sleep. At first he didn’t know where he was or where his parents could be, which caused Harry to cry for them.
“Hey, sport. What’s wrong?” Jim asked, picking Harry up as soon as he began to cry.
“No da yen u.” Harry said, with tears in his eyes.
“Dad is right over there.” Jim said, as he pointed to a sleeping Blair. “Would you like to sleep with us?”
“Yef.”
Making sure that Harry was comfortable and wasn’t going to be squished, Jim laid down and they both went back to sleep.

Peruvian Jungle
November 21, 1991 = Wednesday
8:00 a.m.

The next morning, the Chief’s youngest daughter Monita awoke the family. Getting up, both men washed, dressed and ate breakfast that was brought to them. When they were done, Blair awoke Harry, washed, dressed and feed him. An hour later, they left their tent and walked to the Shaman’s tent where they met by the Shaman’s apprentice.
[Welcome, Shaman Anadarko. You and the young one may go in, but Enrique must stay outside. Only those who have magic may go in.] Said Galeno, as he showed Blair and Harry into the hut. [Enrique, while they are purifying the young magician, the chief wants to see you.]
[Thank you.] Jim said, before going to see the Chief. At the same time in the Shaman’s tent, Amado had just finished getting everything ready when Blair and Harry walked in.
[Good you are on time. Please sit and we will begin.]
“Da, what do?” Harry asked, as he looked around.
[He wants to know what is going on.] Translated
Anadarko.
[You should tell him. Never keep any thing from a child.] Said Amado.
Realizing that Amado was right, “Harry, baby I have to tell you a story. I know you won’t understand all of it, but you have to know.” Taking a deep breath, Blair explained as best he could how Harry’s parents went away and why they weren’t coming back.
“Were ma and da, go?” Harry asked, when Blair was done.
“They had to go away, but they will always be with you here.” Blair said, as he touched Harry’s chest near his heart.
“Ma and da love?”
“Yes baby, your mom and dad love you.” Blair said, as he hugged Harry.
[Anadarko let us begin.] Amado said, a minute later.
[You did a good job.]
[Thank you Amado. What should I do?] Asked Anadarko.
[Lay him down flat and we will begin the purification ritual.]
Smiling at Harry, “Harry, I need you to lay down.”
“Why?”
“This is to help you be a big strong boy.” Answered Blair. Not knowing what else to say.

10:00 a.m.

With a big smile on his face Harry laid down on his back, [He’s ready.] Said Blair.
[Good, we shall begin.] Amado said, before he started to chant.
While Amado chanted, Harry began to tremble and quiver from some invisible force trying to get out. An hour into Amado’s chanting a black mass began to ooze out of Harry’s scar. As the black mass began to grow bigger, Amado took out a ceramic jar with a lid. While chanting Amado began to gather the mass into the jar, until he had everything inside. Amado continued to chant while he secured the jar with ceremonial ribbons and then he stood up.
[Where are you going?] Blair asked, as he held Harry.
Without saying a word Amado went to the corner of his tent where he lit a fire and placed the jar while still chanting. As he continued to chant the fire began to consume the jar and what it contained. When the jar was ash, Amado swept all of the ash into a different container and then walked out of the tent. He began to walk toward the woods, until he reach the clearing, there he began to dig a shallow grave. When it was deep enough, he then buried the ashes, while all the while chanting. As soon as he buried the container Amado stopped chanting.
A minute later he walked back into his tent, and then walked toward where Harry was stretch out. Without saying a word, he began to chant something different, which caused Harry to glow white. Five minutes later the glowing stopped and Harry woke up with a smile on his face.
“I saw ma end da.” Whispered Harry.
“Really, that’s great.” Blair said, with a smile.
Turning towards Amado, [Is that it?]
[Yes. You should also know that he will contain some of the magic of the magician who tried to kill him.] Answered Amado.
[Thank you.] Blair said, as he held a sleepy Harry.
[He will be tired for some time. You may take him home in a couple of days.]
[Can I take him back to our tent?]
[Of course. Just remember he will want to sleep.]
Amado said, as Blair was leaving with Harry in his arms.
At the same time, as Amado was performing the cleansing ceremony on Harry, Enrique was with the chief of the village and its hunting party.
[Enrique, we need your help.] Said Adelio.
[Of course any way I can.]
[We believe that one of our young worriers developed the same gifts as you. We would like for you to talk to him.] Requested Adelio.
[I would be honored to talk to him. Have you found his guide yet?]
[Yes, but he’s still too young to help keep Donato with his zones.]
[Very well, I will speak to the young worrier.]
[Good, let us continue with out hunt.]

1:00 p.m.

It was three hours later, when Harry awoke from his nap hungry. Getting up Harry looked around, but didn’t see either of his parents, which scared him because he thought they left him, causing him to start crying.
“Harry what’s wrong?” Blair asked, as he ran into the tent.
“You leafe.” Harry cried, as he clung to Blair.
“No, baby I didn’t leave. I was outside waiting for you to wake up.” Blair whispered, in a soothing voice.
“No leafe?” Harry asked, in a hitched voice.
“No. No one is leaving you.” Blair said, hating that his son was so scared and so self-conscious.
“Momma and da leafe.” Whispered Harry.
“I know baby, but I told you why they left. They couldn’t help it.” Blair said, with tears in his own eyes. (We will have to make sure he grows up confident in his abilities and in himself.) Blair thought, as he held Harry.
While Blair was calming Harry down, Shaman Adelio was in his tent meditating when he felt a presence in the spirit world.
(Looking around Adelio saw three figures walk out of the forest, [“Welcome, Shaman Adelio. It is good to see that my abilities have been passed down to such a good man.”]
[“Thank you oh great Incacha. But why are you here?”] Inquired Adelio.
[“You must give Anadarko the ability to shield their home from prying eyes.”] Answered Incacha.
[“It will be done before they leave.” Then turning to the two people who came with Incacha, “Who are you?”]
[“We are Harry’s parents. Please tell Anadarko, that we will be watching over our baby.”] Lily said, with a sad smile.
[“I will talk with Anadarko about training Harry in our ways. I will also talk to him about shielding their home from prying eyes.”] Adelio said, before the spirit world faded into the real one)
Getting up Adelio began to prepare a spell for when Anadarko and Enrique would leave home. This spell would protect them from anyone who was evil or had bad intentions toward them. It would also protect them from interference from others who would pry into their life.
[This should keep those that have ill intentions away from Anadarko, Enrique and Meteo.] Thought Adelio, as he finished with the spell.

5:00 p.m.

It was four hours later when the hunting party came back, [Enrique, I wish to speak with you.] Adelio said, meeting Jim on his way to his tent.
[Of course Adelio.] Enrique said, as he followed the Shaman.
Walking into his tent, Adelio went to the left side of his tent, [Take this and *give to* Anadarko.] Adelio said, as he handed Enrique a tied sac.
