The tide has turned
I'm sorry that this chapter is so short. But I hadn't much time to write lately. So I thought it's better to send out a short chapter than nothing at all.

The kiss wasn't bad, but it wasn't really exciting either. In fact, it was almost as if John had kissed his father. Deep inside he felt a bit disappointed. This kiss didn't make him dizzy and breahtless like the kisses he had shared with Luka. But no, he wouldn't think of him! Damn. Carter scolded himself. It was over now!
"Wow, that was great." Samuel instead seemed to have liked their kiss. He had a little stupid smile on his lips and his eyes were shining brigthly. "Why haven't we done that before?"
"Maybe I haven't been ready for it before." John answered and played with Samuel's wild locks. He loved this stubborn red hair. John smiled. Even if the kiss wasn't overwhelming like in a love novel, John was sure that he could live in a peaceful and very harmonical relationship with Samuel. Maybe that was even more important to him than an exciting sex life.
"I'm so happy that you are ready for me now. Let's kiss some more. I need practise. Haven't kissed for a long time anymore." Samuel took John's head between his hands and pressed his lips against the other man's mouth as if there was no tomorrow.

"Come on, we go out. I want to show myself everywhere with you." Samuel enthusiastically grabbed John's hand. It was already the third time this week that he wanted to go out in public with John.
The young Doctor was happy that his new boyfriend was not afraid of people seeing them together. On the contrary, the red haired Italian seemed to be proud of showing his boyfriend to the world. He was so different than Luka.
Damn! This thought gave John a little sting He was a bit angry with himself that he still couldn't completely banish his ex-lover from his mind. But he had loved that guy for so long. It was difficult now to completely forget about this love. It was time to disappear from Chicago though. John had written a lot of application to hospitals at the other side of the country. Only 1000 miles away from his "dark past" he could start a totally new life. But the best was that Samuel could come with him.
"I'm a writer. I can implement my job wherever I am. Important is only that I have enough inspiration. And you are my inspiration, John." John's heart smiled when he thought of Samuel's words.

Meanwhile Luka was in a darker mood than before. He missed John like crazy, even more than he wanted to confess himself. He could hardly sleep and eat, and even his job was not the same anymore without his cute brown haired co-worker.
Luka sighed when he walked through the grey streets of Chicago. The weather was exactly like his mood. Simply bleak. He really had to think about what he wanted in his life. He just had finish this thought when he saw them, sitting in a small cafe.
Through the window he could clearly recognize John and Samuel kissing passionately. They did not even care if the other guests talked about them.
The pain that suddenly rushed through Luka's entire body shocked the dark haired man himself. His heart felt as if it would break in million of pieces. And suddenly Luka knew what was wrong with him. He was in love with John! He really loved this guy! How could he have been so stupid and had not noticed it before? Now it was too late. John had found another love! And HE was the loser now. Luka was on the verge of tears. It couldn't be true!

Three days later Luka was lying in his bed, trying to find some sleep with a bottle of Wodka. But it didn't help very much. He still couldn't get the image of John and his lover out of his mind. He hated the red haired guy. How could he take away somebody that belonged to him? Luka wouldn't accept this!
No! With new energy Luka jumped out of his bed. He had to get Carter back!

At the same time John and Samuel had planned to sleep together for the first time. Samuel had come over to his boyfriend's appartment, bringing everything they needed for this night.
After a romantic dinner with candle light, wine and a lot of kisses, the two guys where moved into John's bed room.
