I Want You Around

"Sergeant Schultz. Bring Private Gregg to my office." Klink told Schultz the next morning after roll call.
"Jawohl, herr Kommandant." Schultz saluted.
~~~~~~~~~~
Schultz entered the barracks. He looked at Carmel. She sat at the table in a heated discussion with LeBeau over morning coffee.
"Private Gregg, Colonel Klink wishes to see you in his office." Schultz said. The Heroes looked at each other with reservation. Carmel nodded and got up.
Once outside, "I overheard Colonel Klink talking about you in his sleep last night." Schultz told Carmel. She blushed softly. "I think that you two make a very lovely couple. If only both of you were on the same side." Schultz said. Carmel just smile a small smile.
~~~~~~~~~~
Carmel entered Klink's office. They smiled warmly at each other.
"You wanted to see me... Wilhelm." Carmel said with a slight twinkle in her eyes.
"Yes, I do... Carmel." Klink said with a smile. "You see, last night after you left, I sat down and thought long and hard about us. I think I have found a way for us to be together." Klink said. Carmel's eyes widened.
"Really? Please, tell me!" She said excitedly.
"How much do you know about the German language and culture?" Klink asked.
"A pretty fair amount. Why?" Carmel responded.
"Good. I'm thinking that all you have to do is start using a German accent. You can pose as Frau Hilda's assistant and none of the officer's that visit will be suspicious." Klink said.
"This is wunderbar! But what about the guards and POW's?" Carmel asked.
"We will tell them that you're doing a work program." Klink said.
"Wow! You've really thought all of this through." Carmel said with a sly grin.
"Of course. I will go to any length to be with the woman I love." Klink said. Klink leaned in and gently kissed Carmel.
