"That...that bitch killed our mother?!?!?!" The idea the woman who had looked like Jess had killed his mother and, by logical deduction, the woman he loved, enraged him.
Dean looked over at the wall and then the floor and then the wall again and tried to figure out how to break it to him. "Um...half right."
Sam stood up and grabbed Dean, slamming him against the wall. "Fuck this riddle bullshit! Tell me what happened!"
At that moment the door opened and Jess walked in. She grinned at the display and cleared her throat, causing Sam to drop Dean and stand stunned as Dean shoved his younger brother behind him to protect him.
Jess just sat on the altar and sighed. "What he's saying, Sammy....is that his father raped your father's bride...Then your mother killed his mother."
Dean closed his eyes. He hadn't wanted Sam to find out that way. "Sam..."
"Shutup, Dean." He pushed out from behind Dean and walked over to Jess. "Who are you?"
Jess smiled and stood to face Sam. She ran her hand down his chest. "I'm your mommy..." She leaned forward quickly and began to kiss Sam. He struggled, but she was more powerful.
Dean rushed forward to stop her, but he was thrown back as she continued to ravage Sam's mouth. He cried out when he saw blood begin to drip from their joined mouths.
Jess finally pulled away with a laugh and spit some more blood out onto Sam's shirt. "I like it when they bite..."
Sam just stood where he was and trembled. He couldn't think of another way to make her let go, but he didn't expect her to enjoy it. "You're not-"
"I am."
He just shook his head. "You can't be."
Dean took a deep breath. "She is, Sammy. She's your mother AKA Lilith. She killed Mary Winchester to be near me. Then she took her place and ended up getting pregnant with you. She was pretty pissed off she had a son so...she waited. Then she left when Abaddon came to get her."
"Came to get her? You mean..."
"I mean he's the demon we've been looking for, but he doesn't kill anyone. He comes to let her know when her time is up. She's been creating humans with special abilities. She thought it would be fun."
"Fun?"
Jess just shrugged. "Abaddon said since he couldn't be with his perfect son..." She smirked at Dean. "...then I couldn't be with my babies. So when they're old enough I'm told to leave."
"But...you leave? What do you mean?"
"Same as you and Dean just now. I have to die to get home. I try to mark you all as my own before I leave. My blood makes it impossible for you to hide from me....or hurt me." She smiled. "It protects me from over eager children."
Dean shook his head. "Yeah, but you missed the first time."
Jess sighed. "Yes, I had to come back for you, Sammy. Everything was fine. I was allowed to stay with you and enjoy you until I saw Dean. That's when I knew I had to leave. He'd found me so I had a hunch he'd try and take you away from me anyway before I could mark you. So I left and managed to brand you with my blood."
"You killed Jess!"
"No, there never was a Jess. It was always just me. We had great times, didn't we, Sam?" She touched his cheek and laughed when he backed away only to gasp as Dean jumped forward and grabbed her wrist.
"Don't you touch him, you bitch!"
Jess just glared. "Who do you think you are?"
Dean smiled. "I'm the guy who pays his dues every year. He's not yours to touch, Lilith. Not unless I don't fulfill my end of the deal by the end of the day. And I always do."
She smiled as Abaddon walked in. "Oh...yes you certainly do." She winked at Sam. "Come along, Sammy." She stepped away as Dean released her. "You're going to have a front row view."
Dean's eyes widened. "No!" He lunged for her, but found himself grabbed by his father. "Don't do this. It's not part of the deal.
Abaddon, hidden in the shadows until that moment, leaned forward and whispered softly in Dean's ear. "It is now. I know he tried to kill you. He's ruined the game."
Sam shuddered as he saw Abaddon for who he really was, at least for a bit. The man's skin was pale and smooth. He must have been his father's age. His eyes were yellow and reminded him of a snake. The demon's hair was black as night and he had strong features that made a person feel fear instead of security like one did with Dean.
Sam looked away as he realized the features were very close to Dean's.
Abaddon grinned. "Ah...you see the family resemblence, do you? I'm afraid you look more like your father, Sam. Lilith is a beautiful woman, though. You do have her eyes."
Dean jerked against his father. "Leave him alone! You have me. The deal is you don't touch my brother!"
Jess laughed. "That's true enough. That is the deal. But he's not your brother, is he?"
She caressed Sam's cheek and giggled at his dazed look. "Awww...I think we've overloaded him. Let's go." She snarled and grabbed Sam by his arm, shoving him in front of her.
Abaddon just laughed as the two disappeared and wrapped his arms around Dean. "Looks like she's in quite a mood tonight. Are you ready for our family time?"
"Don't. Your family time is sick and twisted and-" Dean found himself spun around and slapped hard enough to send him into the wall. He touched his hand to the corner of his mouth and wiped the blood away.
Abaddon glared at him. "That's your problem! Other children of mine come to me wanting to spend time with me. You...you've been defiled by the human idea of family. I won't have it. Not today! Today you act like my son! Not John Winchester's!"
Dean laughed, finally seeing what he had missed for years. "That's it, isn't it? You're jealous! John raised me and you didn't get to and John had Mary and you never did. Not the way you wanted." He regretted the words as soon as he spoke them. He realized making Abaddon angry did not bode well for him.
"You're disrespecting me. I suppose you'll learn..." He moved forward and smiled at the fear that entered his precious boy's eyes.
