Love at the Outback

Ching Ching:
Braddicks Residents



"Do you have any leads?" Mrs. Braddick asked as they sat in the living room.



"We have some new information that may help." Fin hesitated before continuing "Mrs. Braddick, did you know that Stacy was pregnant?" There was a long pause.



"No I didn't...how could I not have known?" she asked herself out loud. A movement caught John's eye and he looked towards the stairs to see a small boy whom he identified as Stacy's younger brother. He stood, walking towards the young boy as Fin continued her conversation with his mother.



"Hey there, big guy. My name is Detective Munch. What's yours?" The boy paused before replying.



"Toby" Munch smiled as softly as he could.



"Toby, I'm a police officer. I'm trying to help find out who hurt Stacy. Did you know if she had a boyfriend?" He asked before Toby nodded.



"He was mean to her."



"Mean to her? how?" Toby again.



"I promised her I wouldn't tell. My dad says when you give your word, your word is your bond." Munch smiled again.



"Your dad is absolutely right, Toby. But I really need your help to find out who hurt Stacy. I think this time...it's okay to tell me." Toby took a breath.



"I saw him hit her one time."



"Where did he hit her?" Toby pointed towards Munch's cheek.



"Here...and here" He said pointed towards Munch's stomach. John nodded slowly.



"Did Stacy's boyfriend ever hit you?" Toby looked down at the floor and slowly nodded. "Did you ever see her fighting with anyone else? One of her friends maybe?" Toby shook his head. "What about your parents? Where were they when he hit you?"



"They were at a party. Stacy was taking care of me."



"Well, don't worry. He can't hurt you anymore. Okay?" Toby nodded "You were a really big help, Toby." Munch smiled and gently poked Toby's nose eliciting a wide smile from the child. He stood straight up and walked over to where Mrs. Braddick and Fin were talking.



"Thank you, Mrs. Braddick. We'll be sure to inform you if anything turns up." he said as they walked towards the door. Once outside, John turn towards Fin. "You get anything from the little brother?"



"He told me that Jake abused both he and Stacy." Fin let out a breath before his cell phone rang.



"Tutuola" he answered. "Alright, we'll be right there." He hung up. "That was the lab, they've got finger prints from Stacy's purse."



Ching Ching:
Medical Examiners Office



"Whoever did this is either extremely stupid or extremely careless. There are two perfect sets of prints on this purse. One set is Stacy's, but the other set is some one else's. Also, the rape kit came back. She was raped and there were some fluids left inside her that we can compare to any samples you get, once you have a suspect." They nodded.



"And the baby?" Munch asked.



"Part of the amniotic sac was still in tacked inside her stomach but for the most part, it looks like your perp sliced it completely out. I also found these bruises on her back and stomach. Some are from the attack but most of them are a few weeks old." Fin nodded.



"If you find anything else-"



"I'll call you" Melinda finished.



Ching Ching:
SVU Interrogation Room



"Look, how many times do I have to tell you? I never hurt Riley, I never hurt Stacy and I sure as hell don't know what happened to Stacy after that party. We fought. She went home. I went home. Next thing I know, you guys are telling me she's dead."



"You know, Jake, you could clear this up really quick by giving us a sample of your DNA." Olivia said leaning in.



"He's not giving you anything. Come on, Jake, not another word. They can't keep you here." She said as the door swung open to reveal a very nicely put together defense attorney. "Unless you plan to arrest my client, we're done here." She finished before she walked out with Jake in tow. They looked at each and walked out of the interrogation room a few moments later.

"I hope you guys got more than we did." Elliot exclaimed as he saw Munch and Fin walk into the precinct.

"Nobody knew about that baby but one of the bussers at the Outback, Briana, did say that Stacy was close to Jakes sister, Jackee. Maybe she can give us something to go on." Fin stated.

"We've got find that murder weapon, is what we need." Olivia sighed as Casey Novak stepped out of Captain Cragens office.

"What do you've got?" she asked holding her briefcase causally in front of her.

"Perfect set of prints on Stacy's purse, fluids from the rape kit and a prior complaint against Jake filed by Riley Hamilton. That enough for a warrant?" Elliot asked hopefully.

"It's a long shot, but I'll see what I can do."

Ching Ching:
Jake Rodgersons Apartment

He pounded on the door before it swung open.

"What do you want now?" Jake asked, annoyed.

"We have a warrant to search your apartment." Olivia replied as she and Elliot made their way past Jake. Elliot started in the kitchen, not really sure of exactly what he was looking for but anything would do to get this prick locked up. He looked on the counter at the the knife set that was next to the sink. Squinting slightly he titled his head and let the corner of his mouth curve up into a half smile.

"Liv. In here." She stepped into the kitchen. He pointed towards the knife set.

"There's a knife missing." she said as Jake came up slowly from behind her. She turned to face him. "Where's the missing knife?" He brushed past her and looked at the set.

"I don't know" Jake said.

"Where's your sister, Jake?" Elliot asked camly.

"I don't know."

"Wrong answer" Olivia chimmed.

"Look I haven't seen her since Monday morning alright. She came over for a while and then left. I haven't heard from her since." Jake answered.

"Where does she live?" Olivia pushed. Jake didn't answer.

"She asked you a question" Elliot snapped.

"About 5 or 6 blocks from here. Corner building on the fourth floor. Apartment 6C." Jake answered.

"Alright, let's go." Olivia said grabbing Jakes arm and leading him out to the car.
