Epilogue
The wedding was the most beautiful one Abby had ever seen, or maybe she only thought that because it was her own. She was waiting in one of the back rooms of the church for it to start. The room was rather large with a desk at one end and a mirror at the other. She stood looking in the mirror, her reflection was smiling back at her. She wore a long flowing white dress with a corset top that fastened tightly around her stomach to give her a nice hourglass figure. Her hair was up and twisted in a design that took two hours but she loved it. She knew Carter was in the other room and she wanted to sneak in and seem him but she knew it was bad luck for the bride to see the groom before the wedding. The past was behind both of them, and the events that had taken place were just a distant memory. When Carter got home that night with Abby he called Kem and broke it off with her. He was more then happy to spend the rest of his life with Abby and now that dream could come true.
Abby set her flowers down on the desk and went back to look in the mirror. She felt as though she was walking on air. From behind her the door opened and Susan walked in. She was dressed in a lavender colored bride’s maid dress. Abby had picked them out with help from her friends because she didn’t want them to think the dresses were ugly. She had been to many weddings where the girls hated their dresses and with the money at Carter’s disposal she was able to get some pretty decent attire. The dress she was wearing alone cost him three thousand dollars but it was all worth it.
“Are you ready for the ceremony?” Lewis asked her, she then took a seat and placed her flowers on her lap. Abby nodded and fixed her hair just a little bit before turning back to Susan. This was going to be the happiest day of her life, even more happy then the day when she got engaged, and she knew it. She took a seat across from Susan and brushed her gown out so it wouldn’t get wrinkled.
“I can’t believe this is finally happening.” She replied and then picked up her bouquet which was filled with roses, lilies, and baby’s breath , and then she smelled it gently. Susan smiled, she had been waiting a long time for this too. She seemed to want them to be together just as much as anyone and that’s why she was chosen to be the maid of honor. The other two bride’s maids were Sam and Neela, and they too looked absolutely radiant in their gowns. A few moments later Neela and Sam came into the room giggling like two school girls. “Hey what’s so funny?”
“Have you ever seen Romano in a tux?” Sam giggled, “He looks like a penguin.” The two of them laughed again and Abby laughed slightly as she pictured the man in his tuxedo. She knew she would get to see him soon enough but she didn’t want to leave the room till the start of the wedding. Neela and Sam sat down on a bench that was by the door and continued to talk amongst themselves. Spirits were definitely high and Abby was just waiting for the time to come where she could walk down the isle.
