All I Ask of You chap 7

All I Ask of You pt 7

Note: Character thoughts are enclosed in *

Sara woke to unfamiliar warmth behind her and a weight across her waist. Opening her eyes she saw that she wasn’t in her room, and the memories of the previous night came flooding back to her. Grissom’s beard tickled her as he nuzzled her neck and pulled her tight against him. She turned her head and he met her lips with a kiss that re-ignited their passion. She turned in his arms and pulled him to her, cradling his body between her thighs. They broke apart and she smiled at him. “Now that’s my idea of a wake up call.”

Grissom smirked at her. “Oh really? See my idea of a wake up call goes something like this.” His hand wandered down to her hip as he began kissing her neck, making her shudder beneath him. She moaned his name as his lips found the hollow of her throat as he slipped his fingers inside of her. His mouth worked back up along her jaw while he worked his fingers below. Sara shifted under him and she felt his hardness brush against her. He moaned at the contact and felt his desire reach new heights. He pulled and looked into her deep brown eyes, smiling when he saw her love for him there. She reached down and positioned the tip of him at her entrance. Grissom stroked her face and searched her eyes for any uncertainty. Finding none he shifted his hips and slid into her wet warmth.

Sara gasped at the feel of him and looked up into his ocean blue eyes. Every muscle in her body seemed to melt as he caressed her face and planted gentle kisses over her face and neck. No one had ever been this tender and loving with her. He took her hand in his and placed her palm over his heart as he began to gently rock within her, his eyes locked with hers when the words he held in check for so long started pouring out of him.

“I love you Sara. Can you feel my heart pounding? This is what you do to me every day, with just a smile.”

Sara pulled him to her and kissed him before he could misinterpret her tears. The change in position moved him deeper within her, making her moan into his mouth and shift her hips to meet him. Grissom groaned into her neck and began to lose control. He thrust into her fully until she was writhing against him, her free hand clutching his ass to pull him to her. She felt her climax coiling within her as he nipped and sucked on her neck. He filled her so completely she just needed a little more to find the ecstasy she craved. She squeezed his hand and his ass while she urged him to move faster. Grissom kissed her and then complied sending her over the edge screaming his name. He followed her moments later and rolled her with him as he collapsed so his weight was not on her but he didn’t have to let her go.

Slowly their breathing and heartbeats began returning to normal as they came down from bliss. Sara slid out of Grissom’s arms and padded to the bathroom to clean up, wincing as she walked. It had been a long time since her last lover, and none of them had ever been as endowed as Grissom. *None of them had ever been as good either.* The thought alone sent a flush of color to her cheeks, but what brought the smile to her face was the realization that for the first time, her lover in the next room was the man she loved more than anything. She finished up and went back to Grissom’s room to curl up beside him. What surprised her more than anything was that he was awake and waiting for her when she returned. He took her into his arms and settled back into bed with her head on his chest like they were made for each other. Content in his arms she glanced at the clock beside the bed.

“What time does the park open?”

Grissom smiled and kissed her hair. “Not until 10. We have time yet.” Sara shifted in bed and winced as she did. The momentary tension caught his attention. “Honey, are you alright? Did I hurt you?”

Sara turned looked up and saw concern and fear marring the blue eyes she loved. “No I’m fine.” His eyes were not convinced. “Ok so I’m a little sore, but I’m fine. I’m not hurt. It’s just been a while. Will you stop with the guilt already? You didn’t do anything wrong.”

Grissom stroked her face lovingly. “Yes I did. I lost control and hurt you. That is never acceptable..” Her hand covered his mouth stopping any further argument. “Grissom listen to me. I am not hurt. To be hurt I would have to be in pain. I’m not. I’m a little sore. There is a big difference. You didn’t do anything wrong. Hell Griss if you had been any more right, I think I’d have passed out. Besides I seem to recall encouraging you, so I wasn’t in any pain then. And I’m not now.”

He kissed her hand as he removed it from his mouth. “As long as you’re sure you’re alright.”

“I’m fine. But we do need to talk.” Grissom eyed her curiously and she explained. “Well you said I could ask you anything and you’d answer me. And in light of our current developments, I have a few things I’d like to know.”

Grissom shifted the pillows behind him to a more comfortable position and resettled with his arm around Sara. “Ok what do you want to know?”

“For starters, why in the world doesn’t anyone use your first name? For as long as I’ve known you, everyone has called you Grissom.”

Grissom laughed. “Well honestly it’s because I can’t stand my first name.”

“You don’t like Gil?”

“Gil isn’t bad, but it’s not my name.”

Sara grinned at him. “Ok so it’s Gilbert?”

“Nope not even close.”

Grissom saw her puzzled expression and knew he had her intrigued. “I was named after my grandfather, Virgil Edwin Grissom. Naturally the name alone could have gotten me picked on in school, but being a science geek along with it was just too much. That’s why I was a ghost in school. I faded into the woodwork and people didn’t notice me much. There was a cheerleader who noticed me for a while, but only because she needed help passing chemistry. She got everyone started calling me Grissom.”

Santa Monica High School, 1972

Virgil Grissom put his books in his locker and got his bag to go home. The year was almost over which made him smile. This was his last year in high school thanks to his mother letting him take the accelerated courses. Finally he would be free of the petty games in the high school halls. He enjoyed working at the morgue with Dr. Gerard and couldn’t wait to start taking classes at UCLA. He closed the locker and turned to find the current bane of his existence standing just across the hall from him. Ken Stevenson was everything Grissom wasn’t. Ken was a senior, a star running back on the football team, and popular. He also made it his sole mission to make Grissom’s life a living hell after he found himself teamed up with the younger man in biology, and Grissom refused to let the jock skate through class without putting in any effort. He hoped he could just walk by without Ken and his cronies following and harassing him, but today would not be that day.

“Well if it isn’t Virgil the virgin. So what’s the plan for today? You going looking for more road kill? Or is today when you go to the morgue to finally see a naked woman?”

He kept walking and ignored them, even though everyone in the hall was now watching. Finally a locker ahead of him closed and he saw a friendly face. Stacy Thomas was an unusual person. She was beautiful, popular, the homecoming queen, the head cheerleader, and most of all she was smart. She was the only person in the so-called popular crowd who gave Grissom the time of day. Of course she also wanted him to tutor her in chemistry, which he was more than glad to do. She had a passion for science that nearly matched his own, but she kept it from overwhelming the rest of her life. She knew Ken and his crew harassed Grissom constantly and knew that no one did anything about it. But when she heard Ken start making comments on Grissom’s mother she knew the younger man wouldn’t keep his temper in check for long.

“Hey Grissom!” she yelled down the hall. “We still on for tonight?”

You could have heard a pin drop in the hall when the homecoming queen hurried past the star running back and his friends to catch up with the resident science geek. Ken grabbed her arm as he passed. “What is wrong with you Stacy? He’s not like us.”

“Wrong Ken. He’s not like you, and trust me that’s a good thing.”

One of the cronies spoke up. “Ken let her go. If she wants to hang with the weirdo, let her. It won’t take long before she come back looking for a real man.”

Stacy pulled her arm free and walked over to Grissom smiling. “That’s ok boys. I already got one.” Grissom was momentarily stunned when she pulled him over and kissed him right on the mouth and her tongue got involved. He pulled back and looked at her smiling.

“So you want me to come over tonight?”

Stacy gave him a suggestive grin and made sure Ken caught it. “No I’ll come over to your place. Your mom isn’t nosey like mine.”

Ken pushed past in a huff. “Fine. Go hang with Virgil the virgin. See if I care.”

Stacy had enough and yelled back at him. “Don’t call him that. You’re more of a virgin than he is. At least he can get something done before he’s finished, unlike you. Yeah that’s right, Melissa told me all about it Mister ten second wonder.” She looked over at Ken’s cronies and smiled. “All your girlfriends have had something to say about all of you, so keep that in mind before you start messing with Grissom again.”

Stacy walked out with her arm around him until they got to the corner for Grissom to turn for home. He put a hand on her arm to stop her from walking away. “Stacy you didn’t have to do that.”

“Yes I did. Ken and his buddies have gotten out of hand harassing people. When he started on your mother, well I knew that would be the one thing to set you off. You’ll be graduating with us this year and then you’re off to UCLA. If you get into a fight, they could hold you back from doing that.”

“But you know what they think now, don’t you?”

“Um yeah. By tomorrow the whole school is going to think you’re screwing the homecoming queen.”

He looked at her and pushed her hair away from her face. “I can’t stand that. Tomorrow I’ll set them straight.”

Stacy took his face in her hands. “You will not. Let them think whatever they want. They don’t know me as well as they think. I already have a reputation for sleeping around, so it’s not hurting anything. Honestly there is only one guy I’ve ever slept with. The rest have been all talk. If everyone thinks you’re with me, they’ll back off. Trust me on this Grissom.”

“Grissom, huh?”

She smiled. “Well it suits you.”

The next day school was better than it had ever been. Everyone left him alone in the halls. Stacy kept up the act whenever he was around smiling and touching him when she could. He had finally conceded she had a point and that a little role-playing wouldn’t hurt anyone. By lunch he was getting used to being called Grissom, and that’s when Ken’s buddies decided to pounce.

“So Grissom what is it with you and Stacy?”

Grissom didn’t even look up from his book. “Chemistry.”

“Chemistry? What the hell are you talking about?”

“She needed help with chemistry. She asked. I helped her.”

“And the rest?”

Grissom let a smirk break across his face. “She was very appreciative.”

That was the last he heard of it for the rest of the school year. The name Grissom stuck and became second nature to him. The only other nickname that came into play was when Dr. Gerard picked him up from school with the coroner in one of the coroner vans. That was the first he heard “Gruesome Grissom”, and it certainly wasn’t the last.

**************

“So what happened to Stacy?”

Grissom smiled at the question that came from the bedroom while he poured coffee. “We kept in touch while we both went to UCLA. Occasionally we hung out, and I helped her in some of her science courses when she needed it. The one night she came by the coroner’s office when I was there to get some help with microbiology. She met one of the assistant coroners and they started dating. They ended up married. She’s a psychiatrist and she works with children.”

Sara emerged from the bedroom in jeans and a tank top, ready for the park. Grissom wrapped his arm around her waist as he kissed her and handed her a cup of fresh coffee. “You sure you’re up for this?”

Sara grinned. “To see you having fun? Oh yeah. Now are you going to tell me what the attraction of roller coasters is, or is it just that the release of epinephrine and adrenaline while riding a roller coaster can produce a stimulatory effect and it enhances ejaculation?”

Grissom laughed. “Do you remember everything I say?”

“No. Just the memorable things. You know if we hadn’t had such a large amount of evidence to process that night, I’d have asked you to cite your source.”

“It’s a simple thing really, Sara. The link between a rush of adrenaline and sexual enhancement are well documented. Which is why after a brush with death people tend to crave sex. Just basic biology Sara.”

“Is that your final answer?”

Grissom laughed. “It’s the truth. Of course if you’d like to conduct a little experiment, that could be arranged.”

An hour later Grissom walked back into Kennywood Park for the first time in six years, this time with his arm around the woman he loved. “Grissom this is getting to be a little annoying. Ever since we set foot in this town you haven’t let me pay for anything. Not one thing.”

“Yes you have. You bought the drinks and candy on the way back from horseback riding.”

“And you’ve paid for dinner several times, drinks, Phantom tickets, not to mention that whole Pretty Woman treatment you sent me on. And now the park. It hardly seems fair.”

“All’s fair in love and war.”

Sara groaned. “That’s not the point. Ok mister I’ll-answer-anything-you-ask, how are you doing all this? I know what a CSI level three makes and what supervisors make. There is no way you could be doing this on what they’re paying you.”

He shrugged. “I’ve been working since I was 15 and saved a good bit. Once I had a full scholarship to UCLA, I invested well. LA County paid for a lot of my grad work since I worked for them, and I played a lot of poker. I financed my first body farm playing, and then I did it just to have a nest egg stuck back so I could take off and do research whenever I wanted to. Then I had an idea to establish a really large body farm and bought the property to do it. I never did it and wound up selling the property a few years later.”

“So you can splurge like this comfortably is what you’re telling me?”

Grissom stopped walking and looked her in the eye. “Sara I could splurge like this and a lot more. Plus tell Ecklie and the sheriff to go to hell, walk out, and do nothing but research for the rest of my life. I don’t have to work.”

“You are joking, aren’t you?” His response was a raised eyebrow. “Ok so you’re not joking. That’s why you don’t hold back and tell Ecklie what you think.”

“Exactly. I can afford to piss him off because I don’t need to work. That and I know how much he loves making the lab look good. There aren’t many labs outside of the feds who have an on-staff entomologist. Now are we going to ride today or just stand here talking?”

Sara looked up at the black steel tubes in front of her and paled. “Ah Griss can we start with something else?”

Grissom looked at her curiously. “Sara, are you alright? You’re not afraid of it are you?”

Sara shook her head. “Not exactly. I’ve just never been on a roller coaster before. My family didn’t exactly do the family outing thing and the families I was with in foster care never took us to parks like this.”

Grissom guided her to the other side of the park to the Jackrabbit, the smallest coaster there. It was an older wooden coaster that wasn’t very fast, but the double dip drop got her blood pumping. When the ride was over they were both grinning like kids and Sara was hooked. Next they rode The Racer.

“See the thing about this one is the reverse curve. If you get on riding on the left, when you get off you’re on the right.” They were settled behind the lap bar and the train pulled away from the platform. As they went up the lift hill Grissom took the opportunity to move closer to Sara and she felt his hand start creeping up her thigh. He leaned over and whispered in her ear “Here’s your experiment.”

She shifted in her seat as the train topped the hill and started down the other side, and that shift put Grissom’s hand directly between her thighs rubbing her through her jeans. Each turn in the track jostled his hand a little more forcefully against her center and by the final dip she was biting her lip to keep from screaming when her orgasm hit. When they pulled back to the platform Grissom was sitting quite innocently beside a flushed and breathless Sara with a smirk. “See? I told you roller coasters were rather exciting.”

They spent the rest of the day walking the park and riding the other coasters. When they returned to the hotel, Sara’s heart soared when she realized that Grissom had scarcely let go of her hand all day. Grissom knew she was exhausted as they got ready for bed, and his heart skipped a beat when she didn’t hesitate to go to his room and climb into bed with him after her shower. In four days they would be back in Vegas, but they would deal with that later. For now he curled up on his side with Sara in his arms and his mind wandered as he drifted off to sleep.

*You never know what you need until you find it. And the next thing I find it might be the thing that changes everything.

What will you do when you find it?

Sleep ... the most perfect sleep.*
