Poison
Attack
Ivy loved working in the green house at night. She was above the noise and concrete that was Gotham. Sometimes after Oswald had fallen asleep she would slip out of bed and work until dawn. Her work on Venom was so incredibly important to her. It was still unstable but she knew she was close to a breakthrough. She filled the syringe with the toxic green liquid and gently injected it into her beloved creeping ivy. She waited a few seconds and then sprayed it with a pesticide. The plant shied away from the spray and then sent a vine hurtling through the air and through the glass of the spray bottle. A smile spread across Ivy's face. She clapped her hands together in delight.
"So this is what you do in your off time."
Ivy whirled around to see Fish Mooney leaning against the entrance to the green house.
"Ms. Mooney.....what a surprise."
Fish started to circle her, like a vulture.
"Is it? Really? Think real hard for me girl. You don't recall doing anything that might cause me to show up...unanounced?"
Ivy backed against her table, feeling the syringes filled with venom bump her fingers.
"No, Ms. Mooney I don't I'm sorry." Ivy tried not to sound scared.
"Oswald....ring any bells now?"
"What about him?"
Fish was close to her now.
"You know damn well what, girl. Oswald is my property...and you're stealing my property. I don't like thieves."
Ivy narrowed her eyes at Fish.
"Oswald is no one's property. He's a grown man and he can make his own decisions. He's not some slave you can claim ownership on. What's the matter Fish? Jealous?"
Fish pulled back and slapped Ivy across the face sending her tumbling to the floor. Ivy tried to crawl away but Fish's thugs quickly grabbed her and held her to the floor. She watched in terror and helplessness as Fish picked op a full syringe of Venom and knelt down to her.
"Funny that your creation should be the tool of your demise."
Fish slid the needle into Ivy's vein and pushed the plunger down. Ivy screamed as she felt the liquid coursing through her like liquid fire. Everything felt like she was being torn apart. She lay on the floor writhing and screaming while the thugs broke and smashed every thing in sight. Large beakers of Venom spilled on the floor around her, soaking into her skin. Fish watched the scene before her with a satisfied smile. She could see the veins beneath Ivy's skin turning a bright green. Ivy couldn't breathe. Her skin and eyes burned. Everything became hazy. The last thing she saw was Fish walking away. The last thing she felt were the vines of the ivy that not littered the floor sliding over her, almost protecting her. Then everything went black.
