What Flower Bloom in the Land of the Dead

Chapter Six: A sudden Embrace

As Persephone lay comfortable in the bed, she believed she was laying in a soft patch of green grass and flowers. Where around her, the lovely scent of roses filled the air. That bathed her skin with it's warmth. And then she heard her mother's voice." Persephone."

The girl sat up in the grass with a smile. And responded." Mother?" She looked over her, Demeter stood there. Smiling lightly. She knelt down to her daughter. And held her. As the girl cried softly with relief in her arms." I had a horrible nightmare mother." She started.

" Did you? Please, my daughter....tell me, what frightened your dreams?" Demeter asked. Caressing Persephone's face.

" I was alone...in a field, I thought nothing of it as I placed various flowers in my basket. And then there before my eyes. A new flower. One so beautiful...." She paused as the wind blew and she felt a bad vibe. Darkness began to cover the feild. Persephone looked down at the flowers, they were black and grey, she looked back up at her mother and continued,"...as I knelt down to pick it up, the earth trembled from under me. I figured I had angered Zues or something. But then the dark lord, Hades came from the bushes, as the ground opened up and four steads pulling a black chariot hovered before me...he grabbed me mother and I was alone without you in the underworld."

Demeter smiled." Oh, but Persephone...it was not a dream..."

Persephone's face turned to confusion, slowly she stood and backed up a bit." You...are...not...mother...." Her body quivered.

Suddenly Demeter's form shimmered away and Hades stood there in her place, he grabbed her by her waist and pulled her into him," You are forever mine,Persephone." He shoved her to the grass and pinned her arms over her head and ripped open her dress. Persephone's cheeks were wet with her tears.

" Please...no..." She whimpered.

But he paid no heed to her pleas. He exposed his rock hard Godhood and entered her roughly. Causing her so much pain.

Abruptly Persephone's eyes flew open and she threw herself up into the bed. Right into someone's warm embrace. She did not realize she held onto Hades for dear life. Hades was too stricken to move. He could only hold her. He had been sitting there for quite sometime, watching her.Carefully he let her go. Though he did not want to. The fact was she had relayed on him to catch her, and he did. Even though she had not realized it.

After several moments, Hades whispered," Persephone." Even though she heard him, she only pressed herself closer to him. For his embrace reminded her of her mother's but his she began to think was warmer...and she liked it. Hades' eyes widened for a second. Until gently he inched back from her. It was then, she realized who had been holding her. She glared and pushed him back from her. For a moment the two remained silent.

Persephone at last spoke," Why? Of all the other beautiful mortals, or Goddesses....why me?"

Hades sighed and decided to tell her," I saw you once and fell in love......

Flashback....

" I'm glad you could make it, Hades to this little gathering....the union of Aphrodite and Hephestus." Zues said to his older, wiser, but younger looking brother.

Hades smiled," I was invited Zues...but I accepted the Underworld for a reason...to get away from this...family." He said curtly and turned and walked off. He noticed there were Gods and Goddesses dancing. Hades rolled his eyes and saw his nephew Hephestus with his new wife Aphrodite.' he is a fool. She's just going to go to bed with another. All the others do it.' he thought to himself.' that may be why I haven't....' he paused in his thoughts and caught sight of a young Goddess with Demeter. Talking and laughing with her.

"Like what you see?" Ares voice came from behind him.

" What?"

" Persephone...Demeter's daughter....I saw you looking over at her."

" Thats Demeter's daughter?" He asked in disbelief. He never thought that the daughter of a goddess as nuts as Demeter would be so beautiful.

" Oh yeah. Thats her daughter. I suppose she is attractive, I mean...I'd do her. If Demeter wasn't always around her to protect her ever hour of every day." Ares said.

Hades glared and slammed his fist into Ares face." Go fuck with someone who cares,Ares." Hades snapped.

"Oh...I see how it is. You come here, with no pleasure in seeing the happiness of the rest of your family. And you see her...now you are denial."He mused" By the way...you really should watch what you say, Uncle. Its a bad infulence and Demeter would had to see her daughter with someone who had a mouth on them like you."

Annoyed now, Hades sighed and shoved him back," Do you ever shut up, Ares?" He asked, when he looked back at Persephone, she and Demeter had gone away.....

End Flashback.....

" After that day, I've watched you...play in the feilds. Bath even. I've watched you sleep. I've even made you think you were in a dream with someone you believe can give you great pleasure." He finished.

Persephone glared up at Hades and abuptly slapped him in the face," You bastard! how dare you!" She hissed," How dare you!"

At last Hades lost his patience and rouchly grabbed her by her wrist," Dare I? I what? Gaze upon my own picture of Utopia. To want another. To desire a Goddess I've not the right to see something, someone like me can not have?" He whispered.

" You..have me...now.." Persephone trembled.

" I do...but do I have your heart? Do you love me?" Hades asked softly.

" Never." Persephone snapped,spitting in his face. Hades slowly wipped the spit from his cheek and glared at her.
