The Huntress Reborn

CHAPTER SIX

Reese opened his right eye to look at the clock. He had only been asleep for one hour. Tilting his head ever so slightly, he saw Helena standing up instead of sleeping besides him. He had a very beautiful sight of her ass for a minute before she slipped a thong on. Rolling over he sat up and watched as she dressed herself into something she had not worn for a long time: her Huntress costume.

“What’s the occasion? You haven’t even touched your Huntress outfit since…I don’t know when.”

Helena sighed as she struggled to come up with an explanation for this sudden change in her. This was one topic that they had never talked about. Being forced to do so now was more than hard, it was awkward. “Reese, we’ve got talk.”

Reese sat up in the bed as Helena sat down beside him. She shook her head, rejecting a way of starting the conversation in her heard. “I don’t know where to begin,,,I mean…” Helena laughed at herself. “Damn, I feel so stupid right now. I can’t even speak clearly right now.”

“I’m here, Helena,” Reese replied. He knew exactly how she was feeling, but it would do her good to get it out into the open instead of him starting this conversation.

“I have to do this Reese. I thought I could quit forever, I really did. I really thought that I wanted to give this up to be with you.”

“Whoever said that you had to choose between me and being the Huntress?” Reese replied.

Helena looked at him in shock. “I thought…”

Reese smiled. “All I have ever wanted for you is to be happy. Don’t think I haven’t noticed for the past two years that there was a part of you who was not happy. Two years ago, you have gone through a tremendous change. You gave up your anger of the death of your mother. You laid it down for good. That is a life changing even you went through. For years before that, you have used that anger as your weapon to fight the evil in New Gotham. When you laid it down, you felt like that weapon was gone, and the Huntress was gone with it. Instead, what you really had was a new weapon to fight crime with. Your passion.”

Helena looked away from him for a second before staring him straight in his eyes. “What does this mean for us though?”

“Are you kidding me?” Reese laughed. “I think this is exactly what we needed to move forward in our relationship. You needed to find yourself, and I think you’re on the right track.”

Helena smiled, jumping to her feet. “I’m going to do it then.”

“What the plan?” Reese asked, standing up with Helena. He was in the buff as well, and Helena caught her self staring at his cock as he looked around for his underwear.

“I want to find out what may be causing the rise in hatred between the meta’s and the humans. Maybe I can get things started at least by bringing the ol’ Bat Cave to life since the Clock Tower is toast.”

“Sounds like a plan to me.” Reese cracked his stiff neck rolled his shoulders to freshen himself up. He slipped into his underwear and then reached over for his pants.

“You’re going to join me?”

“Hell yeah!”

Helena and Reese decided to go through Wayne Manor to get to the Bat Cave. The first thing Helena did was deactivate the alarm so not to cause a scene. Alfred had given her Barbara the code when they started using the Bat Cave for their base of operations right after the Clock Tower exploded.

“Aren’t you going to turn on the lights?” Reese asked, nearly tripping over god-knows-what in the manor.

“It has been a long time since I’ve done this, hasn’t it?” Helena laughed.

Reese nodded, acknowledging that it was a stupid question. Of course she was not about to turn on the lights. The Huntress prefers the cover of darkness. “Of course, what was I thinking?”

Reese followed closely behind Huntress, since she was slightly more familiar with her father’s mansion. She led him into the study where there was an tall nine foot grandfather clock. She approached it like approaching a door, and she pulled it open. It opened just like a door as well.

There was a dark, eerie entranceway behind the clock. The walls were all made of dark stone that had not seen the light of day. The entranceway contained a stairwell down into the darkness of the cave. They used the ragged and rough wall to guide their way down into the cave.

Strangely enough, as they got close to the depths of the Bat Cave, there was just small hint of bluish light to light their way. Was something left on? “Is someone suppose to be here?” Reese asked.

“No,” Helena replied. She was just as puzzled as Reese was. She would have to prepare herself for anything. The final step was nearing and everything would be revealed at that time, including exposing themselves to any possible intruder that had entered the Bat Cave.

Helena’s heart pounded in her chest, a feeling of intensity and danger: god, she missed that feeling! She made sure that she was the first to be exposed. She could dodge a sudden attack from a meta villain much easier than Reese could; after all, he was only human.

Helena’s first foot stepped off the last step, revealing her sight of the huge oval LCD screen. The sounds of agitated bats at the top of the caves were echoing over and over again, but Helena had learned to ignore the bats when they still used the batcave as their base of operation. The next step she took would reveal the seat where the intruder most like was sitting before the giant screen.

Helena made the final step to see two people at the mega computer station. One was standing behind the seat, the other sitting in it. The moment she took one step further into the cave, the chair spun around, and the man standing behind the seat turn to face Helena.

Helena raised her right eye in puzzlement. “Barbara? Richard?”
