CHAPTER 6
Shift was nearing an end. Sara peeked in the doorway of Grissom’s office to say goodbye before she went home. It was something she did every day.
“Hey Griss. I just wanted to say goodbye.”
“Oh, want to come in and shut the door?”
“Sure, what’s up?”
He got up form his desk and stood in front of her. He placed his hand on her cheek and his lips to hers.
“I just wanted to do that again.”
What has gotten into Grissom?
“Oh.”
“I’m sorry.”
“No, don’t be. Really don’t be. You just caught me off guard.”
“Oh, sorry.”
“Stop apologizing.”
“Alright I will. Can I make you some breakfast?”
“Where?”
“Either your place or mine, what do you say?”
Sara’s heart nearly skipped a beat. She nodded.
“Sure. Sounds good. You won’t feed me bugs will you?”
“Not unless you want me to.”
“No thanks.” She giggled at the thought of sharing another meal with Grissom, at least this time they would be alone.
He pecked her cheek quickly. “Go home and grab a few things and meet me at my townhouse in lets say half an hour?”
“Sounds good.” She kissed him quickly and then left his office.
What just happened? Am I dreaming? I have to be dreaming. I don’t want to wake up if this is a dream. It is too great. What do I need to take with me? Do I take a change of clothes or would that be too presumptuous? Maybe I’ll take them but leave them in the car. Yes that sounds like a great idea.
Grissom grabbed his things and headed home.
When Sara arrived her was in ‘chef mode’. He had pancake batter prepared, fruit syrup for over them and other things cooked already.
“I remembered you were a vegetarian.”
That is so sweet.” She kissed him lightly. “What are we having?”
“I figured crepes with fruit. Is that alright?”
“Yes, it is great. I didn’t know you could cook.”
“There is a lot you don’t know about me Miss Sidle.”
Sara giggled. She could hardly wait to find out more.
