ch 59
Grissom rushed to the phone and called Mara and his mom to let them know of Sara’s condition.
He was relieved to say the least. He didn’t lose her or the babies.
How did they survive?
He went to find the doctor.
“Doc, how did the babies make it?”
“Her due date was miscalculated.”
“What do you mean?”
“She was actually just over seven months not five months. Premature births are common in multiple births. They are healthy but small.”
“Can I see them?”
“They are in neonatal but you can see your wife.”
“I will settle for that.”
Grissom walked in the room to find Sara sleeping. He pulled the chair up to the bed and took her hand and kissed it.
“Sara, I’m so proud of you. I was so scared I was going to lose you.”
“Griss.”
“Yes, sweetie, I’m here.”
“How are the babies?”
“Fine, in neonatal, but fine.”
“I’m sorry.”
“For what?”
“This.”
“Sara, don’t be foolish. You are alive the babies are alive, I couldn’t be happier.”
“Grissom, what are we going to name them?”
“I don’t know. I wasn’t expecting this.”
“I know me either.”
His cell phone rang. “Grissom.”
“Cath, Sara and the boys are fine. I can’t talk I’m in the hospital. Thanks; come get some money if you want to. I’m sure Sara would appreciate that.”
“What was that about?”
“Cath is gonna come and get some money and pick you up the necessities for when you go home. Diapers and that sort of stuff.”
“Oh right. These guys were early.”
“Yes they were. Have you seen them?”
“No, you?”
“No.”
“They need to be assessed first.”
“Aaron and William. What do you think of that? They are both strong names.”
“I like them. Strong names for strong boys. What about middle names?”
“Aaron David and William Andrew, how does that sound?”
“Great.”
“At least they have names now.”
“Yes they do.”
