She walked towards him with whatever courage she had. Or stupidity.

THEA
Would you go out with me?

Malcolm got up.

MALCOLM
Sure. Where do you want to go?

THEA
No, I meant... Like on a- (more assured: ) A date.

MALCOLM (surprised)
Oh.

A while later...

THEA
He took a second to take it in. You know... all that.

LAUREL (interested)
So... What did he say?

THEA
He said, "Thea, I care...

Back to the past...

MALCOLM
...for you like a father, but I've never considered you that way.

THEA (agitated)
*put her finger up* Just one! Just the one date.

MALCOLM
Th-

THEA
Just come on one date. (slower: ) And then...
You can decide if you want to be with me or not.

MALCOLM (slightly enunciated)
Does it have to be a date?

THEA (agitated)
No!

With her "no" being a little louder than she intended, she spoke her next sentence as softly as she could.

THEA (still agitated)
It doesn't have to. We can just go to dinner. Or something else!

After the conversation, Thea had to throw up.

That's too much stress in one day. *vomited once again*
