Ouch
*Dum dum*

“Well, she was lying,” Eames said, as she red over her partner’s shoulder. “Delmar didn’t just dislike Maggie’s book - she hated it! Did you read this part? ‘The characters are, without exception, lame, used, and flat. The plot is uni-linear, painfully predictable, and goes beyond the stretch of even the wildest imagination. The only respite from this drivel was when I was finally able to turn the last page and put the awful swill down.’”
“Ouch,” Goren winced. He looked up at Eames. “I read that one. It wasn’t her best, but it didn’t deserve such a bad review.”
Eames sat down next to him at the next computer and shook her head to flick her hair out of her face. “I didn’t even write the book and I’m insulted. Sanderson must have been furious when she read this.”
Goren sighed. Was Maggie the kind of person who would take someone’s life over a bad review? He doubted it, somehow. She was too laidback. But she knew a lot of other writers... maybe she could tell them more if they talked to her again. Sometimes witnesses knew things that they didn’t know they knew. “Let’s bring her in,” he said.
