‘Ha!’ House laughed bitterly, his frown returning to its familiar place.
‘What’s funny about that?’
‘This simple question: why on earth would you? The guy that all women secretly dream about? The brilliant, friendly oncologist? The perfect family man? Why would you waste your time on…’

Before House could make any more weird faces, Wilson pulled him closer and kissed him on his mouth. House blinked. Wilson tried everything to make him feel comfortable.

‘It’s okay.’
‘James…’
‘Hush.’

After a minute he closed his eyes and put his arms around his neck. When their tongues met, they both twitched and they felt they were both trembling. But they found their ways perfectly as if they’d done this a thousand times before.

First they kissed, then they kissed again, and again, while their hands shyly moved and found each other’s shoulders, cheeks, hair, backs. Just like two normal people would do when they were in love.

It was so strange to open his eyes and see who was kissing him. It could have been anyone, except House. He could never be this tender, this soft.

Whenever he checked the clock on the wall, it was later than he had expected. And whenever he did, House took all his attention away.

Without a word the night passed. It was half past one when they went to bed quietly, after they had spent hours and hours just looking at each other, it seemed. Then they both pretended they were asleep, eventually falling asleep, lying silently next to each other and sharing their body warmth. Wilson could see every detail of Greg’s face before his eyes, even when he closed them. The colour of his eyes. The feeling of his cheeks, unshaved, against his palms. He felt the texture of his clothes brushing his when he changed his sleeping position.
