All Alone.. Isn't He?
Here's a link for a picture for the next person to show up in the story, so you'll know what she looks like.

I'm of course referring to the last picture ;)
Chapter Five : All Alone... Isn't He?
Jan nodded and followed Clark into the house. He would take out his stuff that he had left in the car a little later. He briefly thought of another girl he had been friends with, along with Clark and the others at Smallville High. He had loved her, but she hadn't returned his feelings. He wondered how she was doing... because Jan Oramu couldn't allow himself to have his mind flooded with thoughts about Kara and her nude body. It just wasn't right to have feelings for someone else's girlfriend... even though if she was Clark's cousin and if Clark loved her more than a cousin loves a family member. *Maybe Chloe would like a story like that... fresh gossip for her Daily Planet.* Jan thought, totally in the dark about Lex Luthor now owning the Daily Planet.
Kara looked at herself in the mirror in the attic, before she got the courage to go downstairs and enter the house, where her lover and Jan were. Could she contain herself from apologizing to Jan and thereby reveal she had been listening in? So she just simply graced the two men with her presence.
As Clark took some spaghetti from the refridgerator and put it in the microwave to heat it up, Kara got out plates and cutlery and set the table. Occasionally their eyes would lock, Kara's telling Clark's that she knew about what had just been discussed between his friend and him. Clark's to show that he knew and that it had been his fault to approve that. He had no clue that the news Jan had to tell was that serious.
Jan got up, filled his glass with some water and had just wanted to take a sip when Clark asked the question. "How's Karone doing?" Had Jan been totally startled by the question, he'd probably have broken the glass into a million pieces and caused his hand to be severely injured, or he probably would have let the glass fall to the ground in a million pieces. Instead, he almost choked on the water.
"Haven't talked to her in awhile." was Jan's only reply. Memories flashed before him. **I like you, Jan, but not as a boyfriend. You'll find someone who loves you too one day. Don't give up hope...** He shut his eyes and held his free hand before his eyes as he set the glass down, Karone's face and words echoing in his mind.
Kara's body screamed to comfort him, but she just couldn't do it. Neither could Clark, even though his body hadn't screamed out to. He was Jan's friend, and it didn't need a bodily reaction to comfort him. "I'm sure she'll be fine, Jan."
A red Convertible was driving toward the farm. Inside, Karone sat listening to some music. It had been a song from her childhood, as memories flashed before her. **I like you, Jan, but not as a boyfriend. You'll find someone who loves you too one day. Don't give up hope...** How could she have been so stupid? All her ex boyfriend's had been more focused on getting her high on drugs and drunk. Tears fell from her cheeks. How could she have treated a childhood friend like that? Clark would know what to do. Karone softly smiled. She hadn't talked to either Jan Oramu or Clark Kent in years.
As she parked her car, her heart skipped a beat. Her first spoken thought wasn't about Jan, but about his car. "He's STILL driving that thing?" She asked to no one in particular. Then her spoken thought changed. "Jan's here too..." Karone said, getting out of the car and heading up towards the front door of the house.
All this was being watched by a man sitting in a Silver Porsche. Lex Luthor sat in the car, looking around at all the new arrivals. He had been worried about Kara suddenly disappearing from the Mansion when they had just agreed on the treatment to get her memory back. He had been included in Clark's little friendship circle way back when they had still been friends, so he remembered both arrivals. "Hmm... first we had buddy Jan Oramu return, and now Karone. Are they looking for a Smallville High Reunion or something?" Lex spoke aloud, while rubbing his chin. "Interesting." Lex then started up the car and sped back to his Mansion. He'd find out about Kara another time. He figured that she would be at Clark's and that theory hadn't been proved just yet.
There was a ping and Clark opened the microwave. "Spaghetti's ready!" He said with a smile, as he remembered that he hadn't said one thing after Jan's revelation. What could one say to one who wanted to join his parents in the afterlife? Clark didn't know.... and then there was the ring of the doorbell. Kara wanted to open the door, but instead Clark supersped to the door. "I'll get it!" he said and opened the door, his face turning into a smile.
*Man, what a great night for old friends to suddenly show up, huh?* He thought as he saw Karone. She hadn't changed one bit, same old blonde hair. "Hey Karone. Come on in!" He said as he hugged her. "Clark, it's so good to see you again! How have you been?" Karone said, returning the hug.
Kara had eavesdropped and had left Jan at the dinner table after she had put the spaghetti on the table. "Be right back, Jan." Kara said and went to the front door. She knew it was a friend thing, hugging people who they hadn't seen in a very long time, but it had been different with Jan. He was male, and this girl who was now hugging her lover, sent sparks of jealousy through her body. "Oh well, you know me, I've..." Clark started to say, but Kara intercepted. "met my cousin." Kara spoke up and smiled at Karone, trying to hide the jealousy.
Her hands broke the hug, and Karone looked at Kara. "Really? I didn't even know you had a cousin, Clark!" Karone said as she looked at Kara. "Hi, I'm Karone, a friend of your cousin." Karone said smiling. Things clicked into place in Kara's mind. This was the Karone Clark had asked Jan about just a couple of minutes earlier. She was glad Jan had someone new to talk to. "My name's Kara. I'm from Minnesota." She said as extended a hand to shake Karone's. "It's nice to meet you."
All the while Jan stared longingly at the spaghetti, it was his favorite kind of food, and didn't move up when he heard Karone's voice in the hall. She didn't love him. He thought he had banned that memory from his mind, but it hadn't. It had always been there.
"Where's Jan? I've seen his car on the driveway." Karone spoke up. "Uhm... he's here, but something bad happened to him." which made Karone's eyes change from being happy to being scared. "What happened to him? Is he alright?" Clark looked at Karone, seeing her fear in her eyes. "He's alright, his parents died a month ago, and he's been a wreck, he's even... thinking about joining them." Karone put a hand on her mouth. "No, please tell me he didn't!" Karone said and dashed toward the kitchen where she saw someone's back. Nobody else was in the house so she figured it must be Jan. She walked toward him and put her arms around him. "Jan!? Jan, it's me, Karone!" She cried, tears falling from her cheeks, shaking him for fear of having arrived too late and that he had gone on with the original plan of joining his parents.
His hands wrapped around Karone as she buried her face against his chest. "Karone... I'm still here. Don't worry. Don't cry." Jan said as he lifted her face by her chin, and tried to dab away the tears. She was still as beautiful as he remembered. Clark and Kara had joined them, watching how Jan comforted Karone and couldn't help but feel happy for them. The previous longing that Kara had felt for Jan's body, vanished completely from her mind. "I've been so stupid..." Karone whispered against him, as their lips touched, initiated by Karone's lips moving to Jan's.
