Chapter 5
Billy’s eyes opened wide, and he stared up at the head, obviously speechless.
“The word is ‘yes’, Billy!” Zack exclaimed, and the others looked at him, surprised. “What?” He asked. “These two obviously are into each other, and while I don’t get it, it doesn’t mean I’m not for ‘em.” He shrugged. “I tell you, you get more things done when you get two people who love each other, or at least have the hots for one another and does something about it, than you do if people are constantly fighting because that’s the only way they can get out their frustrations or think they can get the other to notice them.”
“Nice insight, Zack,” Tommy said, admiringly, and it was obvious it wasn’t something he’d thought about, and they all returned their attention back to the screen.
“I . . . I . . . I wouldn’t know what to say,” Billy blushed to the roots of his hair and ran a hand through it. “I mean, I’m hardly the best looking guy on the planet, not even in the Rangers . . .”
“You’re kidding me!” Aisha exclaimed. “He doesn’t think he’s good looking?”
“You do?” Adam asked, and she nodded.
“Well, yeah. Those eyes of his could melt you in one look. So green . . . I certainly would have gone for him in a minute . . .” she suddenly chuckled. “Huh. Well, his liking the other gender certainly explains why he never caught onto my flirting. Drat,” she giggled and glanced at Adam. “The good ones’re either gay . . .” She glanced at Tommy, Jason, Rocky, and Zack. “Taken or . . .” She looked over at Adam again. “Or oblivious.”
No one had a chance to speak as Billy continued. “I mean, Jason, Rocky, and Tommy got the looks hands down. And Adam combines his good looks with the ‘cute, vulnerable’ thing so unconsciously, that girls, and others, just about swoon, and as for Zack, well, he has enough confidence in himself that he doesn’t need his looks, though he’s got them in multiples,” Billy shrugged. “Me, what do I have? My hair never comes out right, it’s too puffy, and it can’t seem to make up its mind what color it wants to be. Without my glasses or contacts, I’m legally blind . . .” the others glanced at one another, and Kim sighed.
“I knew he couldn’t see from when we changed bodies, but it never occurred to me he was legally blind.”
“No wonder he was so insistent on having extra glasses and/or contacts everywhere we went,” Tommy said softly.
“He would have been in real trouble without them, even as a Ranger. The battlesuits can only do so much.”
“And as for my eyes,” Billy continued. “They can’t decide if they want to be green or blue, and they change with my mood. Okay, so I’m physically fit, but that’s only because of you making me a Power Ranger, and Jason first, then Tommy and Rocky, insisting on teaching me martial arts in order to not only survive highschool, but also to survive being a Ranger.”
“Billy,” Zordon said. “You have grown up far too much with people insisting the only good thing to you was your brain. You have confessed to wanting a giant floating head because you are an admirer of my brain, and by the same token, I am confessing to the beauty of your body, and believe me, don’t you think for a moment that a 10,000 year old man lusting after the body of a seventeen year old male is a bit . . . disturbing to say the least?”
“Well,” Billy said as he laid himself flat on the floor and stretched lazily. “It depends on who the seventeen year old male is . . .” his grin was lascivious, and Kimberly covered her eyes as she flailed for the pause button.
