Chapter Four

The lighting was low and almost everything was black light. People were glowing in all spectrums of neon colors as they danced to the rhythm of the techno. All of the drinks had different color glow sticks in them and they were being served by the dozens.

The two of them danced for some time when Kal noticed that Ronan’s fangs were starting to show more and more by the flashing of the lights. He led him over to a table where the two of them took a seat. Ronan ran his long pale fingers over and across Kal’s ring. It was made of white gold and had a beautiful red stone in it.

The memory of Leif putting a ring with the same properties only more beautiful on his finger came back to him. The smells and all the heartbeats were starting to affect him.

Kal took his hand in his and asked if he was all right. Ronan looked up at him with a deep emotion in his eye that took his breath away. Ronan pulled his hand slowly away and slipped under the table like a shadow for Kal to suddenly whimper.

Ronan slowly unbuttoned Kal’s pants and unzipped them. Kal moaned as Ronan nuzzled his cheek against his hardening cock. Ronan pulled his pants slightly down and Kal jumped when he felt that fiery hot tongue lick his shaft.

Ronan licked his dripping tip like it was a lollypop only he tasted sweeter than any candy. Kal grabbed him by the hair and fought not to cry out as Ronan took all of him in his mouth.

Kal hissed as sweat broke out on his forehead, “Please.”

Ronan smiled to himself as he reached out with his magic making Kal choke back a cry as he came. Kal felt like every nerve in his body was being tickled and it felt great. He felt it from the top of his head down to the very tips of his toes.

His head fell back leaving a dent in the wall and his hands had bent the metal table down from where he had moved his hands to keep from hurting Ronan. He felt like he was never going to stop shooting and that tongue was driving him mad.

Ronan swallowed every drop and licked him clean. He carefully pulled Kal’s pants back up and fastened them. Kal took him by the hands and pulled him up into his arms. Ronan smiled to himself because Kal had just saved some humans life. He could live off of seamen just as well as blood. He nibbled on his ear when Kal whispered, “When can I do that to you?”

Ronan pulled back slightly to look at him, “My body does not work like yours.”

Kal looked at him with confusion in his eyes, “What do you mean?”

“I’ll try and explain it later,” he said laughing at his confused face as he pulled the big strong alien to his wobbling legs, “Dance with me.”

Jenna was watching the Son of Darkness dancing in the arms of another man and he would like nothing more that to string this interloping meddler up by his intestines and watch him dance. He pulled his head back through the curtain and smiled as the new song began to play. He was going to bring Ronan home. He would not fail his Queen.

Kal was suddenly brought out of his happy moment when he saw someone he once knew looking at him with deep hurt in their eyes. Why wouldn’t they just leave him alone? Hadn’t he suffered enough? How did she find him? Did Chloe do this?

He leaned down and whispered in Ronan’s ear that he would be right back and Ronan nodded. He watched Kal walk off disappearing into the dancing throng as he stood there in the shadows with the lights ever so often shining on him.

Ronan took a step back for a strong pair of arms to wrap around his narrow waist. He stiffened when a familiar voice hissed in his ear, “Been a long time, eh love?”

“Jenna,” Ronan whispered as crazed dancers moved all around the two of them.

“I’ve come to take you home,” he whispered soothingly as he moved Ronan’s hair to the side to sniff his neck. Ronan shuddered when Jenna licked him and tried to get away but Jenna’s grip was solid, “Let me go!”

“What’s the matter,” Jenna asked in mock concern, “What’s one dance between friends?”

“We were never friends,” Ronan hissed as he fought him, “Release me!”

“Can’t you make me,” Jenna mocked cruelly, “Or have you been gone from home for too long?”

Ronan almost cried out when Jenna suddenly teased his neck with a fang which made him chuckle huskily. Where was Kal? Ronan began to look around for him but Jenna chuckled, “Looking for your love toy,” he asked and then nibbled on Ronan’s exposed neck, “I made him see an old pain.”

Ronan whimpered when he suddenly saw Leif standing before him with half his face scorched black and a hole through his chest. His hands were held out to Ronan begging him to help him as blood oozed from his pores.

“Stop it,” Ronan cried and the image vanished, “Damn you!”

Jenna laughed as he fed, “Oh, such sweet pain.”

Ronan knew that no one could help him for they were blind as to what was going on right in front of their mortal eyes. Jenna pulled Ronan after him out into the streets over to an alley where he pushed Ronan up against a wall and started licking his cheek. Ronan managed to knee him in the stomach causing Jenna to stumble back a few steps smiling madly at him, “That wasn’t very nice.”

“Fuck you,” Ronan yelled, “Kal!”

Jenna laughed coldly, “He can’t hear you sweet thing,” he said advancing on him slowly, “He’s too busy chasing shadows.”

Ronan ran to the left and tripped Jenna when he lunged and ran out into the street. Jenna just laid there in the dark as his words followed Ronan loud and clear as if he was right next to him, “You can run beautiful but you can never hide.”

Ronan ran around the corner back to the club only to be smacked up against a dumpster with Jenna growling in his face like a pissed off tiger, “You are weak Ronan!”

Ronan’s eyes bled to blue fire and he head butted Jenna making him fall back on his ass with a grunt, “You little bitch!”

“Fuck you,” Ronan said snapping his fangs at him, “Just leave me alone!”

Jenna had him by the throat lifting him off the ground, “And risk your mother’s wrath,” he asked, “I think not.”

Ronan kicked him the groin and he dropped him to the ground and fell back against the wall hissing, “I’ll fucking kill you!”

“Then what would you tell Mommy Dearest,” Ronan asked as he looked around for an escape.

“That you gave yourself to the sun,” Jenna hissed over his pain, “Because you could not stand living without your precious Leif.”

Ronan suddenly found himself falling flat on his back on top of the dumpster from where he had been struck across the face. He was really starting to get pissed.

Jenna was on top of him holding him down by his throat, “I could bind you up and leave you for the light of the sun to embrace you with its burning wings.”

Ronan laughed, “You promise?”

Jenna cocked his head to the side and Ronan suddenly rammed his sharp talons through his exposed stomach. A demonic scream clawed its way out of Jenna’s throat as he fell off the dumpster backwards crying in agony.

Ronan stood up and licked the blood from his pale fingers to see that Jenna was no where to be seen. He jumped down off the dumpster and walked around the corner right smack into Kal’s chest.

Ronan cried out and was about to punch him when Kal cried, “It’s me!”

Ronan blinked and instantly wrapped his arms around Kal’s waist who asked, “Why did you leave?”

Ronan shook his head, “I needed some air.”

“Really,” Kal asked not really believing him.

“Yes,” Ronan told him, “All the different smells were making me a little crazy.”

“Right,” Kal said smacking his forehead, “I take you to an all you can drink buffet.”

Ronan smiled trying to distract himself from the fact that he was almost taken back to his mother. He took Kal by the hand, “Are you hungry?”

Kal smiled as his eyes glowed with red fire, “I am craving a cheeseburger now that you mention it.”

Ronan smiled warmly and pulled Kal after him, “Where can we get one?”

Kal stopped him in his tracks and Ronan looked back at him puzzled, “What?”

“You’re kidding,” Kal asked with a cocked eyebrow in amusement, “Right?”

Ronan smiled, “If you say so.”

Kal rolled his eyes and took the lead as he pulled Ronan after him playfully, “Let me introduce you to Ronald McDonald.”

“Who is that,” Ronan asked playing with Kal because it was fun, “Will I like him?”

Kal was laughing so hard it took him several tries to insert the key to his apartment properly only for the door to open without him doing anything. He quickly sobered and Ronan quickly went on the defensive thinking it was Jenna again.

Kal put an arm out to shield Ronan as he went in. He looked around with his x-ray vision to see three sets of skeletons. One was seated in his chair and the other two were on either side of him with guns in hand.

Ronan could smell them as well as see them as if it were daylight even though he had never once seen daylight. Kal suddenly shot fire from his eyes blasting the guns from their hands as Ronan turned on the lights. The two men were rubbing their hands and Kal snorted in wicked amusement, “The clowns from the bank?”

The man sitting in the chair chuckled as Kal looked at him with glowing red eyes, “Who the hell are you?”

The seated man crossed his legs and leaned back in the chair flashing his pearly whites at the two of them, “Morgan Edge.”

“That’s nice,” Kal told him, “Here’s the door,” and he ripped it off the hinges and hurled it at them.
