Deadly Touch: CHAPTER 5

The bright green light radiated softly from the ornate glass jar. Rita held it up to her smiling face and peered inside.
“What a lovely sight. The Green Ranger’s powers belong to me once again. My female putties have done well, and soon I’ll have a matching set of jars filled with the other Rangers’ energies. It’s only a matter of time before I will be rid of them forever!” She cackled loudly.
“Yes,” Finster chimed in. “My-uh I mean your putties have the Power Rangers confused and on the defensive. Their special techniques and abilities have worked flawlessly so far, if I may say so.”
Rita handed him the jar. “Make sure this is put in a secure place. We don’t want this precious energy to escape.”
“Certainly, my queen,” Finster responded. “I have been wondering something though.”
“What is it? Make it quick.”
“Well, it’s just that this jar looks rather ordinary. How is it that it is capable of holding such a powerful substance?”

Jason felt a strong hand rudely grab his shoulder from behind. He immediately whirled around.
“Well if it isn’t one of the dweebs,” said a familiar voice. Jason was relieved to find that it was only Bulk and Skull- the school bullies. They acted tough, but he knew it was just that- an act. Skull laughed in his usual annoying high-pitched note. “Yeah, or did you just get lost?” he repeated Bulk’s words.
“Yeah, very funny,” said Jason as he started to walk away.
Bulk quickly stepped in front of him. “Where are you off to in such a hurry? I’ll bet your going to the library to read books or something stupid like that.”
“It’s none of your business. Now are you going to move or am I going to have to move your fat self out of the way?”
A wide grin suddenly spread across Bulk’s chubby face. “Heh, no, I don’t think you’re going to be going anywhere……..Red Ranger.”
“What did you just say?” asked Jason, completely caught off guard.
“Oh, I think you heard him,” replied Skull from behind. “We-know-who-you-really-arrrre,” he mocked in a creepy sing-song tune.
“The hell?!” Jason looked on with disbelief as Bulk’s overweight body slowly began to change and reshape itself. The rolls of fat that had been there literally seconds ago slimmed down to a curvy, sleek shape, finally revealing the creature beneath the façade.
Jason hurled Billy’s backpack over the bushes, hoping they would not discover the valuable item within. He ducked and rolled to his left, barely dodging a blow from the female Puttie, as he reached for his power morpher.
“Tyranno--“
The Puttie that had been masquerading as Skull pounced on his back, wrapping her strong legs around his arms and torso causing him to drop the morpher. She squeezed her thighs together, trapping him tightly in a vice like hold. While Jason continued, unsuccessfully, to break free of her leg lock the other Puttie wagged a taunting finger back and forth in his face.
