And Jaian Reveals His Past
Rodney’s hand was on the small of his sister’s back as he led her around the floor to the sounds of a waltz. He held Rose close smelling her hair.
//So?// he asked, his mind questing towards his sister’s. He felt her lift a mental hand back to deliver a stinging mental slap, ab=nd then it disappeared. He was in his sister’s mind, swirling around in the deep greens and blues. //Rosalyn/Rodney// They were one for minutes, silently sharing information. Finally the bit that was still Rodney separated and became himself. They must’ve manipulated themselves off the floor and onto a bench, because they were sitting there as if they’d been looking out the window and talking.
“Rosalyn?” Rodney questioned, using his voice instead of his mind. He needed to become a single being, so using his mind was out of the question. “Why’d you open?”
“Needed you to know everything.” Rodney nodded. There were things that he and Rosalyn couldn’t put into words, feelings that were without words. “I’ve never felt so.” She paused, and Rodney knew the emotion she’d shared.
“Next time, warn me?” Rosalyn smiled at her brother’s request, her cheeks dimpling.
“Yeah.” Rodney smirked
Ronon’s eyes had followed the siblings around the dance floor, and when they’d started to drift off, he’d gotten up to go meet them, but was restrained by a light hand on his elbow.
“They’re talking.” Jaian said. “They’re talking like twins can. In their minds.” He tried not to think to hard about it, but was not allowed the luxury.
“How’d you know?” Ronon asked, and Jaian pointed out several ways.
“They’re moving too together to be of two minds.” Jaian smiled. “I used to be with a pair of connected twins.” He said in explanation. “They can become of one mind, if one of their minds has enough power. I’d guess that it’s Rose with the power.”
“Why?” Ronon shook his head, he knew why. “Rodney’s nervous, Rosalyn’s serene. Rose has that aura, of carefully contained power.”
“Care to dance?” Asked Jaian, with an outstretched hand. Ronon placed his in it.
“Jaian and Ronon are dancing.” Rosalyn was inmpressed that the American military had yet to freak, thinking of their well known animosity towards homosexuality .
Rodney nodded, and pressed his face into her hair. He had curled around her, using his body to over shadow hers’. “Maybe we should dance again?” Rodney asked, and his sister stood, extending a hand to him.
The started to tango to the waltz playing, and the dj got the hint. The music changed to a throbbing Spanish tango, and the room was able to appreciate Rodney and Rosalyn’s connection, and their training in the fine arts.
//They’re watching us.// mindspoke Rodney to his sister, and let his hand roam down her butt. Rose grinned, and moved a hand to his cheek.
