The afternoon approached to the two sleeping lovers. They were awakened from their lovely slumber by the doorbell.
Grissom threw some clothes on and went to answer the door.
Sara followed right behind him.
“Who is it?”
“Delivery truck, it’s the nursery furniture.”
“Oh right, forgot about that.”
“Its ok so did I.”
“We need to sit down and plan what we are doing with the nursery; we haven’t even discussed it or the rest of the rooms. Mara and your mom come next week and they won’t take kindly to sleeping on the floor.”
He chuckled lightly. “I don’t suppose. I guess we need to go out and do some shopping.”
“I think you are right, but we need to decide what we are doing first, how about we grab a bite to eat, the babies are hungry and discuss this?”
“Sounds good, what do you want?”
“Omelette with pickles.”
“Pickles?”
“Blame the offspring.” She giggled.
“I will see what I can do, sweetie.” He kissed her softly.
“Alright, so we have the furniture for the babies. We got two cribs, two dressers, and two change tables. That covers the basics. What else do we need?”
“Well we should probably get a second rocking chair or perhaps matching ones and put the other one in mom’s room or Mara’s.”
“Ok, sounds good so far, what else?”
“Theme? What are we going with?”
“Why bugs of course.” Sara smiled.
Grissom shot a proud look at her. “What kind of bugs?”
“Ones appropriate for children. I was thinking butterflies, dragonflies, maybe characters from Antz or A Bug’s Life.”
“You are serious?”
“Why wouldn’t I be? I want this to reflect you as well.”
“Thank you.”
“You are welcome.”
She began to jot things down on the paper.
Bedding, look for A Bug’s Life or Antz.
Butterflies and Dragonflies.
Rocking Chairs.
“What about the other rooms? We have my bed in one but we have two others that are empty. We will need to fill them before next week.”
“We might as well do it while we are out. Jot down what we will need.”
Sara followed his orders.
Two beds
Two dressers
Bedding
Curtains
She passed him the paper. “Did I leave anything out?”
“Nope, looks good. How about we get cleaned up and head out?”
“Sounds good.”

Sara stood aimlessly in the bedroom section of Ikea. It was phenomenal how many different things they had. She was stuck as to what to pick out for Mara. She settled on a simple set with a matching dresser and night tables. Grissom picked out a similar set for his mother.
Setting that aside, they headed to the baby section and purchased two matching rocking chairs to match the wood they had already purchased.
“Deliver that tomorrow afternoon, please.” Grissom stated as he paid for his purchases.
They left there and headed to Bed Bath and Beyond. Sara found a simple bed set for the bed for Mara and a few special things she was sure she would enjoy.
Grissom found one for his mom as well as a few other things that peaked his interest.
The biggest task was the baby’s stuff. Lucky for them they had a vast array of themes, one of them being bugs. Grissom was like a kid in a candy store.
They got matching crib and comforter sets in dragonflies. They got a curtain to match as well as big stickers for the wall. They purchased two mobiles with bugs. Grissom returned carrying two stuffed bugs. He decided they too were a must have.
Happy with their purchases they headed home.
AS soon as they were in the door Sara went about trying to set up the nursery, she was so excited. Setting up the nursery made it seem more real. In such a short time they would be parents with two children. She hummed along as she took the things out of the boxes.
Grissom joined her and attempted to put the furniture together. After two painful hours and no headway he decided to consult with Sara.
“Sara, I’m not getting anywhere here. I am a scientist, give me an experiment and I am happy, I am just not mechanically inclined. I need to call Brass, I hope you don’t mind.”
“I’m sure he will keep our secret, besides you have been fighting with this long enough, go call him before this sets you crazy.”
He kissed her forehead as he walked to the phone.
“He will be here in fifteen minutes; he didn’t ask questions I figured we could explain it to him when he gets here.”
Sara went about placing the stickers on the wall. The cartoon bugs smiled back at her as she placed them scrupulously on the bare walls and hung the curtain.
There, it is starting to look like a room. She stood back and pictured how the room would look with the babies in it. She gently caressed her belly as she daydreamed.
Grissom was in one rocking chair rocking the baby to sleep, Sara was pacing the floor with the other, they were so happy.
The doorbell roused her out of her daydream. She went to greet Brass with Grissom. He would certainly want some answers.
Brass was standing in the living room when Sara emerged from the nursery.
“Well I’ll be damned.” He said as he looked at Sara. “It’s about time.”
Sara approached Jim to give him a hug. “You think?”
“Sara Sidle if I didn’t know better I would have to say you are pregnant.”
Sara smiled, she forgot she was wearing a form fitting T-shirt and shorts; she was less conscious of her attire at home.
“Jim Brass, to think they stopped you from being an investigator, you are some perceptive.” Sara joked.
“Alright, why am I here?”
“Well, Griss is having trouble putting the cribs together.”
“Cribs? As in more than one?”
“Yes. Two. We are having twins.”
“You dirty dog.” He patted Grissom on the shoulder. “When did all this happen?”
“A little before the vacation we both took, we took it together. We found out she was pregnant in Colorado. We decided to move in together but my townhouse was lacking so we bought a new house.”
“Wow, you two hid it well.”
“We are trained investigators after all.”
“Yes, so who else knows?”
“Just Warrick, so please keep this to yourself.”
“Sure no problem, now where are these cribs and stuff?”
“In the nursery.”
He walked through the door. “Bugs, why am I not surprised.”
“It was Sara’s idea.” Grissom interjected.
“It is still your influence.”
Grissom smiled.
After only an hour Brass had all the furniture together. “See it takes a real man.” He jested.
“So Mr. real man, what are you doing tomorrow?”
“Why?”
“We have some beds that need to be put together.”
“Call me.” He left.
Sara and Grissom went to check out the nursery.
There were cribs on side as well as a dresser and a change table. The comforter sets adorned the cribs and the mobile hung over the cribs. The Rocking chairs were in opposite corners of the room.
“It’s perfect.” Sara said as she hugged Grissom. “What time is it?”
“It’s only after five, why?”
“I’m tired I want to take a nap before work care to join me?”
“You couldn’t keep me away.”
Grissom threw some clothes on and went to answer the door.
