The phone rang and Sara dashed towards it. Their bid was in on the house and they were just awaiting the phone call that it was accepted. Grissom was so sure they were going to get the house he had put his townhouse up the same day. They had a few offers so the prospects seemed great. The offers were adequate so when they got the other house they were sure to accept one of them and be free for that worry too.
“Grissom! Grissom!” Sara yelled throughout the house. “We got it, we got the house.”
He came running and Sara jumped into his arms and squealed. “It’s ours.” She kissed him long and hard. “The house is ours.”
“Great, now we just need to move.” He grinned. “And sell this place. Let me call the realtor and tell them we will accept the last offer.”
“I’ll call the movers; they can pack us up and move us in only a few short days. We are running short on time.”
He kissed her quickly. “Sounds good, whatever it takes to move all my stuff plus what is left at your apartment. Make the arrangements as soon as possible.”
They both returned at nearly the same time. “While I was on the phone with Rose finalizing our appointment to buy the house I sold this one, we finalize both of them tomorrow.”
“I guess tomorrow is going to be busy then because we get packed up tomorrow too.”
“Wow, we will be settled by the end of the week. I guess you can stay here and bark orders, I will go pick up the paper work and bring it here so you can sign it.”
“But Griss, it is your house.”
“Maybe on paper, but the new one will be ours, you need to be on it.”
Sara smiled; she never thought she would ever co-own a house with Grissom. She was like a little kid with a new toy.
The next morning the movers showed up promptly at eight am. Sara was just getting to bed. Damn it, I guess I will have to sleep later. This is way more important.
She rubbed her now swollen belly. The babies were starting to make their appearance. They were almost into November and Sara was just over four months. Being pregnant for twins she was growing rounder and faster than one would normally. She was beginning to have questions raised, she told them at work that the doctor put her on a bulk up program so that she would gain weight because she was dangerously underweight. It worked for now, but she wouldn’t be able to hide it for much longer, thankfully they were sharing their secrets at the Christmas party and then she wouldn’t have to hide it anymore.
Sara resisted the urge to bellow from the rooftops that she was the luckiest woman alive and that she was pregnant not with one, but two babies and that Grissom was the father.
They would know soon enough…
The packers were very meticulous with their packing. They packed up a single room and loaded it neatly into the truck. They carefully packed up Grissom’s bugs and specimens and his experiments. Sara was scared of most of what was in his office. He had half done experiments and exotic bugs, they scared her to death. They finished packing up the house and they headed to her apartment. Before she left she wrote out a note for Grissom and left it on the front door.
Grissom,
We have headed to my apartment we will meet you at the new house.
PS
These movers are wonderful.
Love Sara.
She pinned it to the door before jumping in her truck and leading them to her apartment.
She was happy she was getting out before the end of the month, it was one less month of rent she would owe and she could put it towards something else. They had all the baby furniture bought and it was scheduled to be delivered the following week so they could set up the nursery.
Her house was packed up in no time and they headed for the new house. She was relieved to find Grissom’s truck already there as well as the realtor’s car.
Sara walked in the house and she was greeted by Grissom and Rose.
“Sign here please and make it official.” Grissom said pointing to the line below his name. She did as he requested and smiled as she did so. Finally she was the proud co-owner of a home.
Grissom stood behind Sara as the movers moved their stuff into their home and unpacked it. His hands were on her belly. He touched it as often as he could without being obvious. Sara placed her hands over his and revelled in his caresses. They brought the sofa in and Sara sat down before she fell down.
He pulled her into his arms on the couch. “Sara I took the liberty of scheduling us both off tonight, I figured after this we would be beat and need to sleep.”
She turned to face Grissom. “That was sweet of you, baby, and thanks. I was just getting into bed when the movers showed up.”
“I figured as much.”
“You are so thoughtful.” She kissed his neck; it was as close to him that she could get.
“I try; it is a new side of me. Do you like it?”
“Umm very much, I will show you later how much.”
“Promise?”
“Oh yeah.”
“You were right you know, these movers are amazing, very meticulous.”
“I know I thought so too.”
“I plan on giving them a substantial tip and a good review with their supervisor.”
“How sweet of you.”
“I know, it’s my new side again.”
“Where is my Gil Grissom and what have you done with him?”
“He is here; he just has different priorities than he once had.”
“I’m so lucky.”
“No, Sara, I’m the lucky one.”
“Grissom! Grissom!” Sara yelled throughout the house. “We got it, we got the house.”
