Grissom awoke to the sun shining through the windows. It was a brand new day and he had brand new ideas.

He looked over to his still sleeping partner and kissed her on the nose.

Her eyes fluttered open.

“Morning.”

“Morning yourself. I could really get used to being awakened like this, you are way better than my alarm.”

“Is that so?”

“Yes it is.”

“Sara, It is only the beginning of October, do you think by Christmas we can buy a house and get married? Will that give us enough time?”

He expression was somewhat that of shock. “It will be rushed but I’m sure we can do it, why?”

“I was thinking combine our wedding into a surprise Christmas party in our new house, just invite the crew, Jim, Mara of course and my mom. Shit, Mom! I haven’t talked to her in a while, I really should call her and talk to her I am sure she would be more than willing to help out too.”

Sara leaned in and kissed him full on the mouth. “That sounds wonderful. I guess we should really start house hunting, egh?”

“Yup, right after I call mom.”

He jumped up out of bed and went to call his mother and tell her their new amazing news. While he was gone Sara picked up her cell phone and called Mara. After both conversations ended they had exactly two weeks to find a house big enough for themselves and their guests, by the first of November not only would Mara be in town but Veronica Grissom would be as well.

Grissom returned to the bedroom just as Sara was hanging up the phone.

“Who were you talking to?”

“Mara, she is ecstatic, she will be here the first of November.”

“Really? So will mom, you will finally get to meet her.”

Sara was full of apprehension, what if his mother didn’t like her, and what if… “Griss, what if your mother doesn’t like me?”

“Sara don’t talk so foolish. My mother is happy I finally found someone who could stand me; don’t worry about it. She will be happy I’m not gay. What else would a mother think of a fifty year old bachelor?”

“I’m sorry, I’m scared of the prospect of the whole thing.”

“It is ok, we will be fine. I guess we need to find a house.”

“I guess so, I think the Internet is in order, what do you think?”

“Sounds good.”

Grissom and Sara both sat perched in front of the laptop in the bed. They searched through the listings in the Clark County area. After much avail they found a prospect and placed a call about it. They had a five o’clock appointment to view it.

Sara got ready and waited for Grissom, she was getting nervous, she never thought she would ever be with Grissom let alone buying a house with Grissom, he emerged and they headed off to their appointment.

The house was amazing, brick exterior with large pillars in the front which housed a balcony for the master bedroom. She was already impressed and they had only seen the outside. The agent showed them around inside. The kitchen had a large amount of counter space and cupboards. The counter top was stainless steel as well the appliances and the island and the floor were of marble tile. There was a huge pantry off the kitchen and a sunroom; Sara imagined the amount of herbs and flowers she could grow in there. There was a small bathroom off of the kitchen as they walked through to the dining room. It had a built in china cabinet and hutch. It was stained a beautiful cherry color. The living room had a huge fireplace in the main part of the room and a window seat on the bay window. There was a small study on the same floor that could be used as an office.

The upstairs was amazing too. The master bedroom was huge; it too had a fireplace as well as a master bathroom with both a Jacuzzi and a stand up shower. There was a huge walk in closet with a side for him and a side for her and a place specifically for shoes. Sara was so excited. Walking down the hall there was another bathroom and four more bedrooms, five in total. There was also a library. Grissom was impressed, as was Sara.

“We will take it.” He stated before their tour was even over. “We will pay the asking price, no qualms at all.”

“Are you sure?” The agent asked.

He looked to Sara and he could see the look in her eyes. “Yes we are sure, call me when it is finalized.”
