"Why are you sorry?" Sara asked, as she got dressed.
“I didn't mean to spring that on you...I mean...I'm not sure what I mean." He was completely confused.
"Can we please talk about this later?"
Sara felt a sting of hurt but she said," Sure." She closed the curtain around the examination table leaving Grissom on the outside.
"Sara, I assume I upset you. I'm not taking back my proposal if that is what you are scared of...it's just...just I think you deserve better than me blurting it out on a hospital room. Sweetie, can I try this again, maybe over dinner, or at least at home?" Now I'm overtalking...
"Whatever makes you comfortable," Sara's voice came through the curtain as she blinked back tears.
Stepping inside, he kissed her forehead. "It’s what you deserve."
Sara gave him a small smile as she carefully got off the bed.
"Ready to go?"
"Yup.' Sara fell silent as Grissom's fingers entwined with hers.
"Let’s go home and celebrate." He whispered in her ear as they walked out of the hospital.
Hopping into the truck he looked to Sara, "Is there anything you want or need before we go home?"
Just you. "I'm good. Thanks."
"All Right, home we go." Putting the truck in gear he headed home.
"You okay?" Sara asked Grissom as they pulled out of the parking lot.
"I'm better than ok, why do you ask?"
"You just seem quiet."
I'm thinking up an appropriate plan... "No everything is good."
"Okay." Sara turned back toward the window.
"Everything all right with you?"
"Everything's fine." She smiled. "Just a little tired."
“And so you should be. We have a lot of planning to do now."
"Yeah."
"Two will be twice as much fun as one." He chuckled.
"Cite your source," Sara said cheekily.
"I don't have a source." He smiled back. "I just figured..."
"Then how do you know two will be more fun?" Sara lightly teased.
"I guess I don't, we will just have to find out now won't we." He pulled into the driveway of the townhouse.
He went around and opened her door for her and offered her his hand. Sara took it wordlessly, starting to feel nauseous. She pushed back Grissom when she opened the door and ran to the bathroom. She barely made it to the toilet.
"Are you ok, Sweetie?" He rushed to her side. "I think maybe you should lie down for a while."
Sara carefully got to her feet. She rinsed her mouth out with water. "Could you maybe make me some tea?"
"With ginger?" He chimed.
"Please." Sara lugged her tired, aching body onto the bed.
He hurried off to the kitchen and returned with a steaming cup of ginger tea for Sara and some dry soda crackers. "Here you go, sweetie, anything else?"
"Why...no, that's fine. Thanks." Sara smiled at Grissom, pulling the blanket up over her legs as she held the steaming cup of tea between her hands.
"I'll just be in the other room if you need me." He didn't want to invade her space if she wasn't feeling well; he would wait for directive from her to stay.
"You should get some rest too."
He smiled. "Are you sure?" Those were the words he was waiting to hear, he wanted to be with her he just didn't want to smother her. Sara flipped back the covers. He crawled in besides her continuing to keep his space. He didn't want to make her feel worse or upset her.
Sara set down her cup and carefully put her arms around Grissom's chest. He smiled to himself. He loved the way she felt in his arms.
"Relax, Griss," Sara murmured in his ear, as she stroked his chest. "We're going to be okay."
I hope she is right... He sighed.
"Sleep, sweetie."
Two hours later, Sara was up again, throwing up. Instead of going back to bed however, she went into the kitchen and made some tea. She glanced down at the bridal magazine that someone had just stuck in her mailbox. Her fingers played with the pages.
"Whatcha reading?" He yawned coming into her view.
Sara glanced up. "I uh..I was just looking at this bridal magazine that someone stuck in our mailbox." She closed the cover “You hungry?"
"Oh why would they do that? I'm starved, what did you have in mind?"
Sara ignored the first part of his question. "Want waffles?"
So I take it you have been thinking about the wedding... "Waffles sound good." Should I mention it now, or wait...
Jump in for the kill..."So, when do you want to get married?"
Sara looked up, startled. "Sorry, what?"
"I said, when did you want to get married, do you want to keep with the original plan and do it in February or March or earlier? What is it you want; your wish is my command."
"I know...It’s just uh... you took me off guard. I have never known you to be so spontaneous." Sara took a deep breath.
"Sorry, but we do need to discuss it, don't we?" He hesitated.
"Yeah, we do." Sara sat down across the table from Grissom. She reached across the table, giving his hand a brief squeeze. "Do you have any thoughts?"
"I just want you to be my wife that is my only thought. What about you?"
"I'm trying really hard to resist the impulse to squeal like a little girl and jump across the table into your arms." Sara grinned.
"Why resist it." He taunted.
"Because a) I'm too big for that and b) the babies wouldn't appreciate that.”
“No you are not, come here, come sit in my lap." He tapped his thighs. "Come on."
Sara arched an eyebrow at him but complied.
"See, you are not too big and I don't see the children complaining."
“Daddy’s being a smart Alec, boys. Whaddya think about that?" Sara murmured as she rubbed her stomach with one hand.
"Boys?"
"Until we're sure otherwise, I'm calling them "Boys."
"Alright. I trust your judgement, but wouldn't you prefer a girl?"
"Don't want to sound cheesy or cliché, but as long as they’re healthy, it doesn't matter to me."
"I guess not, as long as they have five fingers and five toes I am happy as a clam."
“We need to make some room for these two; we need a big nursery for two babies. Any ideas?"
"We might need a bigger place, like you said."
"For sure now. We need at least three bedrooms, more if we can."
"Maybe that should be the first thing we look at...Other than planning a wedding and Mara coming, I mean." Sara looked up at Grissom with a teasing glint in her eye.
"You have a list??" He teased.
"I always have lists. You know that."
"So we will look at houses, tomorrow?"
"We can, sure." Sara reached for her teacup.
"And then what? We will need furniture, baby stuff, how big of a wedding were you planning? Did you want to marry before we finalize a house or after?" I'm overtalking again...
"Griss, baby, relax." Sara murmured, leaning over to kiss him lightly.
“There is so much to do and it is all new..."
"I know...it is overwhelming. Let's just start with house buying right now, okay?"
"Umm, ok. I'm still tired, after we eat will you come lay down with me?" I'm sure you could use the rest too.
"I'm getting tired myself," Sara admitted. She started to get off of Grissom's lap, but she got pulled down again.
"Want to skip breakfast? We can resume waffles later..."
"Sure." Sara nestled into Grissom's neck.
He picked her up and carried her to the bedroom once again and placed her on the opened bed. "I missed you earlier so I hoped I could persuade you to come back to bed." He grinned greedily.
"Well, I'm all yours, Doc," Sara murmured in Grissom's ear.
"Umm, that might no be good words for right now...” He trailed off. "I could be getting the wrong idea." He teased.
"Wouldn't bother me none." It wouldn't....that's the thing.
"Are you sure...I don't want you to be uncomfortable."
"Grissom, you could never make me uncomfortable."
"It just...I don't know, I guess it's different now."
“I don't look at it as being different...I look at it as the next stage in our relationship."
He smiled. "You always know the right words." He kissed her full on the mouth.
"Not always," Sara said softly.
"Would you just be quiet so I can kiss you, please?" He laughed.
Sara made a zipping motion across her lips as she smiled angelically.
"That's better." He murmured as he deepened his kiss. "You sure this is ok?" He asked as he placed his hand on her back.
She nodded.
He lifted her shirt up and kissed her belly lightly. "Hi boys, go back to sleep, mommy and I have something to attend to." He kissed his way back up to her lips.
A tear trickled down Sara's face as she stroked Grissom's hair. After discarding the shirt, he ran his hands over her curvier body.
“Just wait till I look like an elephant."
"You will still be sexy to me, don't worry." He purred.
He reached for the waist of her pants. "Are you sure this is ok?"
"Grissom, I'm going to kick your ass to the wall if you don't stop asking me that," Sara murmured as she kissed him again.
“I just want to make sure, I'm sorry." The pants joined the clothing on the floor. "You look some sexy in that camisole and panties." He growled.
Sara's lips turned up in a demure smile.
"Now let’s get you out of then, shall we." He grinned.
They joined the other clothes, now a naked Sara looked at the still clothed Grissom, puzzled by his appearance.
"A little one-sided, don't you think, Doc?"
He grinned. I was more concerned about you."
"Strip, Doc."
"Yes mam."
He did just that, with a little flair, enough of an act to make Sara laugh. "How did I do?"
"I think you missed your calling, Doc," Sara grinned, still laughing.
"Could I give Cath a run for her money?" He giggled as he joined her on the bed.
"Possibly."
“So if I need a second career are you telling me I could make it as a stripper?"
Sara stopped talking, wanting to savor Grissom's closeness to her. She relaxed on the bed, closing her eyes. She still smiled at Grissom's question though.
"You are so beautiful." He whispered to her.
Sara sighed in sheer contentment. He ran his hand down her body. She shivered under his touch. "What do you want, sweetie?"
“You...”
"Umm. Tell me when you are ready." He purred.
His kisses left wet marks down her torso. Sara bit on her lip as she shivered again.
"Ready?"
"Please...want you..." Sara hoarsely whispered as she shivered again. "Take me...."
He slowly but gently slid into her. He arched his pelvis as he did so. He began thrusting slowly at first and quickened the pace. Sara tightened her legs around him, whimpering. He pumped harder and harder as his climax threatened.
Grissom..." Sara panted. Her body moving with his.
"Sara.....so good."
"Yes! More...deeper...please..." She screamed in ecstasy as her body burst in pleasure.
He thrusted harder and deeper as he exploded within her. “Umm.”
"GOD!" Sara exclaimed as she climaxed the same time he did.
He smiled. "That was definitely amazing."
Sara ruffled Grissom's hair softly. She kissed the top of his head.
"I love you." He breathed out.
"I know, baby," Sara murmured soothingly. "I love you too."
“I didn't mean to spring that on you...I mean...I'm not sure what I mean." He was completely confused.
"Can we please talk about this later?"
