Sara checked on her still sleeping husband and kissed him lightly on the cheek. She padded to the nursery and kissed the baby returning to the living room she called Catherine.
“Hey Cath, its Sara, sorry to call so late but I need you to bring Amy home early in the morning, please.”
“Why?”
“They found a way to get Gil to Miami.”
“Oh that’s wonderful.” Catherine smiled to herself; she knew Sam would come through for her.
“I can bring her home now if you want.”
“Is she still up?”
“Yes, her and Lindsay are watching the last of the movie.”
“Great Cath, please bring her home.”
“I’ll be right over. I’ll let you tell her the news.”
“Thanks Cath.”
“No problem.”
It wasn’t fifteen minutes and Catherine was at the door with Amy and Lindsay.
“You didn’t break any speed limits did you?” Sara joked.
“No. How’s Gil?”
“No change. That reminds me I need to call the doctor, will you excuse me please.”
“Sure thing.”
Sara retreated to the office and called Doctor Whiteman.
“This is Mrs Grissom. We are taking Gil to Miami tomorrow, what do we need in order to go?”
“I would suggest a MD go with you, more as a precautionary.”
“Any MD?”
“Sure.”
“Alright, anything else?”
“No, he will need his medications and the oxygen. The oxygen should dwindle out when he gets to Miami.”
“Ok thanks Doctor.”
“No problem. I will call a colleague of mine in Miami and set him up an appointment.”
“Thanks Again.”
Sara hung up the phone and called Doc Robbins.
“Doc, its Sara.”
“IS something wrong with Gil Sara?” He had left no too long ago.
“No, I have a question for you though.”
“What’s that?”
“How well do you like Miami?”
“Fine, why?”
“We need a doctor to fly with us tomorrow. They found a way to get Gil to Miami, would you mind?”
“NO, not at all. The wife and I were discussing going to see our daughter in Atlanta, which would be perfect, Atlanta is not far from Miami.”
“Great Doc, thanks.”
“No problem Sara, I’ll see you tomorrow.”
Sara returned to the living room. “Everything is all set.”
“Oh good.” Cath replied.
“What’s going on now mom? What’s wrong with dad?” Amy asked in a panic.
“Nothing sweetie, they found a way to send dad to Miami, we leave tomorrow.”
“Really?” Tears were welling up in the little girl’s eyes.
“Really.”
“SO dad is going to be ok?”
“Yes.”
“Great.” She hugged her mother and Sara cried with her. Catherine and Lindsay slipped out and left them in their moment.
