"Do you remember the name of the obstetrician?" Sara asked Grissom as he handed her into the car again.

“I’m not sure.”

"That's okay. I've got it written down somewhere."

“I just want you to get checked out. I don’t want anything to happen to you, or the baby.” I couldn’t handle that.

"I will," Sara promised. "As soon as we get home, I'm going to make an appointment."

“No way! We are going now.”

At Least I remember the address. "Griss, you want to go right, not left," Sara said gently.

He nodded and signalled right. Geez, I sound like a nagging wife already.

“Where is it?”

"Coming up on your left side."

“Ok.” He pulled in and put the truck in park.

Sara fought down another wave of nausea as she got out of the truck.

“You ok?”

"Just a little nauseous." Sara took his hand. "It'll be fine."

“Let’s go.”

Standing just outside the clinic was Warrick. He was working a case.

"Sara? Griss?" They heard a familiar voice behind them. BUSTED!! Was the first thought that entered Sara's mind.

“Warrick” Grissom shot out of his mouth.

“You go on ahead, Griss. I'll catch up in a second," Sara said, stepping up to the plate to try to defuse the situation. This even though she knew she wouldn't for long.

“I’m not leaving you; we need to get you checked out, what about the baby.” Damn, I really blurted that out!

Warrick's eyes grew wider. Sara insisted a little softer, "I'll be there in a minute. Just want to talk to Warrick for a second."

Grissom walked into the clinic to register Sara.

Sara turned back to Warrick, bracing herself for the onslaught.

“Are you pregnant?” He asked.

Sara nodded.

“It’s Griss’s?”

"Yes."

“Congratulations.” He hesitated as he spoke. He pulled her into a hug.

"Thanks." She turned serious again. "Think you can keep this quiet?"

“Is something wrong with you?”

"I think it's just fatherly nervousness. Griss, this is all new to him.”

"Yeah, for me too," Sara admitted.

“I will let you tell them, it’s your news.”

"That's probably better. I...I'm afraid of political backlash."

“Honestly, what can they do now?”

Lots of things.... "I better go." She smiled. "We'll get together soon."

She quickly fainted there on the sidewalk. Warrick ran to her side and picked her up and carried her inside. Needless to say, Grissom wasn't exactly comforted at the sight of Warrick carrying an unconscious Sara.

He ran over. “What happened?”

"She fainted," Warrick explained as he gently put her down on a gurney a nurse was bringing.

Grissom leaned into her. “Sara, Sara honey, are you ok?”

Warrick backed away unnoticed. He knew that Grissom would take care of Sara. A nurse brought a glass of water as Sara's eyes began to flutter.

“Can someone tell me what is wrong with her?” Grissom barked.

Sara groaned softly as she came to. She took the water from the nurse's hand.

"Nurse could you bring Mr. Grissom and Miss Sidle down here?" a doctor called from an Echo lab.

Grissom was scared to death. He was scared he was going to lose her.

The sandy haired doctor introduced himself. "I'm Dr. Lovell. Dr. Braithewaite referred you to me."

Grissom nodded. “Help her, please.”

"Why don't you come in, Mr Grissom?" Dr Lovell invited.

He looked to Sara to see if it was all right for him to accompany him. Sara's hand reached out for his. He was comforted by her gesture and followed her into the room.

"So, Dr Braithewaite tells me you've got some pretty nasty morning sickness," Dr Lovell began as he and a technician set up the equipment for the Echo exam.

“Yes doc, it seems to be getting worse. I’m a bit worried.”

Dr Lovell smiled at Grissom. "I understand it’s worrisome but I can assure you that all of the symptoms Sara is experiencing are quite normal. And it's easily made tolerable with lots of rest and anti-nauseate pills.”

“She has the pills, why aren’t they working.”

"That’s why we're here." Dr Lovell explained as he handed a gown to Sara. "I'll be back in a moment."

Grissom held her hand, not wanting to ever let go. Sara drew the curtain. He looked up at her.

"Baby, you have to let go so I can change," Sara said gently.

Grissom didn't move. His grip on her hand grew a little tighter. “I don’t want to lose you, I’m worried.”

Sara put her arms around Grissom pulling him close to her. He was near tears. He loved her so much. "Everything's going to be fine." She reassured him softly.

I hope so. He forced a smile.

Sara lightly kissed his forehead. "I love you."

“ Umm. I love you too.”

"Now be a good boy and let me change, hm?" Sara said with a tone of teasing.

He let go of her. “I guess I have to.”

Sara gave him another smile as she changed into her gown. She wavered a little again with dizziness. She sighed, lying down. I want this morning sickness to be over. He shot her a worried glare that Sara didn't see. She had her eyes squeezed shut to ward off the vertigo.

Sara slowly opened her eyes when she heard Dr. Lovell coming back, meeting Grissom's worried face. Grissom held her hand. Sara had time for one softer kiss and a caress of Grissom's beard. He loved her gentle gestures.

"It's alright, baby," she whispered in his ear before she lay down again.

He choked back tears. He wanted to remain strong for her.

"So, all set I see," Dr Lovell said as he came back in.

Sara gasped when she felt the cold gel on her skin.

"You okay?" the technician asked her.

“What are you doing?” Grissom barked.

"It's okay, Grissom. Was just some of the gel they use," Sara soothed him.

“Does he have to touch you?” Grissom's answer came when he saw the wand. “What is he doing?” Grissom was getting agitated.

"It's alright, Mr. Grissom. Look on the screen," Dr Lovell said.

He looked up. He changed the screen so Grissom and Sara could see. He pointed at a small white dot on the bottom right. "There's your baby."

He let the tears flow. “That’s our baby?”

"Oh, excuse me. Babies," Dr Lovell corrected himself.

“Babies?” Grissom’s jaw dropped.

"Twins?" Sara gapped.

“Are there more?” He hesitantly asked.

"Just the two," Dr Lovell smiled. Then to Sara, "That would explain your symptoms. Twice the fun."

Grissom kissed Sara’s forehead. “Two babies.”

The technician turned a switch so they could hear the babies' heartbeats. That's when Sara began to cry. Grissom held her in a gentle embrace. Sara snuggled into Grissom's arms as she continued looking at the screen.

“Are we ready for two?” He whispered to her.

"We will be," she whispered back.

“I love you.”

My babies...our babies.... Grissom’s babies.

He kissed her cheek.

"Love you too, Griss." She kissed her hand and then rubbed her belly. "And I love you too," she said softly.

He smiled at her affection. “You are so cute.”

"That got a reaction," Dr Lovell commented. "They obviously know their mother's voice."

She is a natural. She is going to be good at this. I hope I am too.

Sara saw the look in Grissom’s eyes. Don’t worry, Griss. We'll work on the interaction for you too. Sara took Grissom's hand again. The technician removed the wand from her skin.

“I think we should get married.” He blurted out. “Way sooner than February or March.”

Sara squeezed Grissom's hand, whispering in his ear "We'll talk about it in the car, okay?"

Dr Lovell was also taken aback by the outburst, but he smiled and let it pass. "Everything looks fine for this stage, but if you have any concerns or questions, call me." Dr Lovell left the couple and Sara drew the curtain again to put her clothes back on.

“I’m sorry. I don’t know where that came from.”
