Paul approached the sheriff. He was with a group of people.
“Sheriff, how have you been?” Paul extended his hand. “I hear there was an accident with Gil Grissom, is he alright now?”
“Gil should make a full recovery once he gets to Miami.”
“Miami, egh. What are the arrangements to get him there?”
“We aren’t exactly sure. He has many limitations because of his condition.”
“Really? What is wrong with him?”
“He has something called Hantavirus. It is a respiratory virus makes you very susceptible to germs and the like.”
“I have a cure to this, Mr Atwater. I would love nothing more than to show my gratitude for the safe return of my son. Mr Grissom single handily saved him.”
“Oh right, I forgot about that. What do you suggest?”
“I suggest that I lend my private jet and pilot to the county to safely transport Mr Grissom and his family to Miami without any complications.”
“You would do that.”
“Certainly. My father is very wealthy and he really loves his Grandson. Pauly is his pride and joy, he would do anything for him and since Mr Grissom saved Pauly I am certain he would agree to this and much much more.”
“How are we going to formally announce this?”
“We need to get this going; Mr Grissom can’t be getting any better. I am sure you do not want the repercussions if something happens to Mr Grissom, do you?”
“Of course not.”
“Then get on this, I will handle the rest.”
“I am sure they will be grateful.”
The sheriff went into the library and called Sara.
“Grissom residence, Sara speaking.”
“Sara, its Rory Atwater.”
“What can I do for you?”
“It’s more what I can do for you.”
“What do you mean?”
“Get your husband and children packed up we have found him a safe way to Miami. I’m sorry it took so long; we had to iron out the details. He isn’t a cop so it wasn’t exactly easy. Contact his doctor and see what needs to be done before he can leave tomorrow.”
“Tomorrow?”
“I figure the sooner the better.”
“What? How?”
“Don’t worry about that just know that he will get there safely.”
“Thanks Rory.”
“No problem Sara, have a nice night.”
“I will now.”
“Hey Sara.”
“What?”
“Get your husband healthy. The lab needs him.”
Sara had heard that a few too many times, usually from Grissom. I wonder if Rory will send him a plant. Sara laughed.
