Sara had agreed to go to the session and talk with the doctor about her feelings and such. He hoped she would at least sit through this session. He was apprehensive after the last one. She walked out of it. Sara had definite nerves in her stomach but she offered her hand to Grissom as the got out of the car. Sara seemed a whole lot calmer since Mara’s visit and the prospect of her return. Grissom was a bit apprehensive not because of Mara because this was all so fast and so new to him.

“Are you ready for this?” he asked as they approached the entry doors.

"I'll be fine, sweetheart," Sara reassured Grissom.

Out of the corner of her eye, Sara could see Grissom frowning as she took slow, deep breaths.

He was noticeable nervous. This was a big step. He feared the doc was going to tell them that this wasn’t going to work, bail ship before you drown. Sara tried to reassure him with the squeeze of her hand. He forced a smile as they approached the waiting room.

He's making me nervous. Sara sat down in the waiting room as Grissom checked in. Sara rubbed her belly unconsciously.

“It should only be a few minutes” he spoke softly.

Sara nodded and picked up a magazine from the coffee table in front of her.

Dr Duluth was before them “I’m ready for you two.”

Sara looked up and smiled. She put down her magazine, but didn't get up until Grissom did.

Grissom got up and offered her his hand. Sara wavered a little as she stood up. She explained to the doc. "Morning sickness."

“He told me you were suffering with that. It should eventually subside, mine did around 4 months, I think.”

Sara smiled, not certain what to say.

“Come on in my office, make yourself comfortable. Can I get you something to drink?”

"I'm fine, thanks," Sara said politely.

She passed Grissom a glass of water. Sara noticed Grissom's grip on her hand tighten a little. He's scared I'm going to bolt again. He glanced at Sara to see if she was ok. He was nervous.

She gave him a smile before turning back to Dr Duluth. Remember...you agreed to be truthful.

“So Sara, how are you feeling?”

"Still trying to get used to the morning sickness," Sara said with a small smile.

“How about your relationship with Grissom” The doctor asked.

"It’s fine. Truthfully a little scary, but its fine."

“Want to explain why it is scary?”

Sara didn't want to risk looking at Griss. Grissom squeezed her hand, trying to be supportive.

“It’s uh...it's kind of hard to explain... But he told you we knew each other at Harvard, right?"

“Yes, I know of the history.”

Sara bit her lip, wondering if she crossed the line of patient-doctor confidentiality. After a moment, she continued. Grissom smiled. His apprehensions were leaving. He was sure she wasn’t going to run. "I guess you could say it started out as a crush."

“I assumed that.” The doctor added.

"And as you probably know, with crushes comes the fantasies about being with the person."

“Yes that is typical”

"Mine are coming true and I honestly don’t' know what to think. Part of me is thrilled, but part of me is terrified."

“Would you like to talk about it?”

Go on, Sara. You'll feel better. She urged herself on. Sara glanced over at Grissom. "I mean don't get me wrong, Grissom has been very loving lately."

“Ok…. Do I sense a but?” Dr Duluth questioned.

"I've got a bad history with men." Sara stuttered out.

“Care to elaborate?” She tried to get her to open up.

"My father was a drunk and was abusive, two of my boyfriends were almost abusers, and one cheated on me." This was all rattled off in one breath.

“I see, and this worries you?”

Sara nodded.

“You feel you won’t be good in this relationship because of this?”

"I think I’ve got a lot of emotional baggage, yes."

“I think if Grissom can conquer his demons, so can you.”

Grissom wanted to hug her, show her he loved her, but he was apprehensive.

"Which is where the other part comes in," Sara continued softly. "Leaving him would be the worst mistake I ever made."

“So you are worried that you did it once, what is stopping you from doing it again?”

"Yes, I am." She softly admitted.

“I think things are different, that’s what is stopping you now.”

Grissom was silent in light of her admissions.

Sara waited for Dr Duluth to explain. “You are obviously in love and you are having a baby. That changes things.”

The baby! Sidle you are so selfish. Sara's eyes glistened with unshed tears of guilt. She rapidly blinked them away. Grissom pulled her in to an embrace. He didn’t care; he couldn’t stand to see her cry. Sara wrapped her arms around him, not only taking comfort, but also trying to reassure him that she was okay.

“If you need to stop, Sara, its ok” He spoke softly.

The doctor took in the display of affection in front of her.

"I'm fine," Sara told him just as softly. "But thanks."

“I don’t want you to hurt anymore.”

Sara sighed as she regained her composure. "I know."

Dr Duluth changed her focus to Grissom, “How does this make you feel?”

Sara slightly pulled away so Grissom could talk. Her hands went to her belly again. She was doing that a lot lately.

“I want to cry with her.” Grissom stated frankly.

"Why?" She asked.

“I hate her being in pain.”

"And what would you like to do about that?"

“Take it all away.”

Dr Duluth smiled at the progress Grissom had made. "Tell me about the baby. How do you feel about being a father?"

“Scared and excited at the same time.” He admitted.

"Want to explain that?"

“I’m scared I will be like my father, but excited that I will be better than he ever could have been.”

Dr Duluth looked over at Sara. “I think Sara thinks you'll be a great father. Take a look at her face.”

He looked to Sara. He smiled. He hoped she felt that way. Sara's face showed nothing but love.

“So doc, are we gonna make it?” Grissom asked with a hint of humour.

“It’s going to take some time for you to work it out, but honestly I'd say yes."

He smiled and looked to Sara. “Hear that, I think we are gonna be ok.”

Dr Duluth cautioned. “The only way it's going to work is if both of you are committed to the relationship. Remember there are three of you now."

He nodded. “I know.”

"I think that's where we'll end today," Dr Duluth stood up.

Grissom looked to Sara. Sara eased herself out of her chair, smiling at Dr Duluth.

Grissom offered her his hand.

"Take care now," Dr Duluth said in parting.

“You too.” Grissom said as he put his hand on the small of her back to lead her out. Sara had fallen into thought about what had happened in the session as she and Grissom got onto the elevator.

“What are you thinking about, my love?” He asked softly.

"That I want to make this work." Sara replied softly.

“Me too.” He leaned in and pecked her cheek

"I know I asked you before, but are you ready for me to move in with you? What about Mara? The wedding, all of it?” Sara asked as they got back to the parking lot.

“Yes. More than ready!” Sara nodded and smiled at Grissom as she got into the passenger seat. “Are you ready for this?”

"Yes."

“So where do you want to go next?”

“Do we have everything for the baby?”

"I wouldn't mind looking at a few cribs."

“Want to do that now, or would you rather just go home.”

"I’m up to going now...” she trailed off. "But if you're not, I can just drop you off at your place."

“No. I m fine, I was more worried about you being tired.”

"I think I'm good for a couple of hours. I can always sit down if I get tired."

“So when are we gonna move you in.” The question came out of nowhere, taking Sara momentarily off guard. “Or have you changed your mind” he was slightly hurt. “I mean we should find a place but I would prefer it if you would stay at the town house with me until we do, I mean I can’t stand another minute without you.”

"I still plan on moving in, I will stay with you until we get the new house, I’m just focused on the baby," Sara said a little sheepishly. She reached over for his hand.

“Whenever you want me to move in, I'll move in."

His heart started beating again. “Id like you there now. But that’s just me.” He admitted.

"Well, why don't we go shopping and then when we get home we'll start making arrangements for me to move?" Sara suggested.

“Sure. I didn’t mean to push you.” He mumbled.

Sara leaned over the seat to kiss his cheek. "You're not pushing. You're being sweet, and I love you for it." He smiled. It was little things like that that he really enjoyed. "So, Daddy, where do you wanna park?"

He laughed. “We can park in maternity parking.” He smiled again “if that would be easier for you.”

The other connotation of what Sara had said crossed her mind and she started giggling.

“What’s so funny?”

"Nothing," Sara said, still grinning. "Close is fine."

“What, I’m concerned, isn’t that allowed.”

"No. I uh... it just occurred to me that the “So, Daddy where do you wanna park? Can mean something else.”

He just got it. “Oh I see. I don’t think that would be appropriate in a parking lot.” He laughed

"I'm silly," Sara admitted. "What can I say?"

“Can I take a rain check,” He smiled. “Please.”

Sara laughed harder, a sweet, girlish giggle that Grissom had never heard before.

“Is that a yes?”

Sara kissed his cheek, whispering in his ear, "Any time you want."

He asked coyly, “Do we really need to shop? I think I just got a better offer.”

"Unless you want the baby to sleep between us, I would say it's necessary."

“That wouldn’t be good. Can we be quick? Let’s get going.”

Sara smiled slyly and started for the mall entrance. Sara started to feel a little dizzy as she got to the entrance. "I took my pill. I know I did." She muttered to no one in particular.

“Are you feeling ok?”

To her stomach, she muttered, "How about a little cooperation with Mommy, huh, slugger?"

Grissom laughed. “Do we need to get you checked out again?”

"Might be an idea," Sara admitted.

“Alright let’s head back to the car.”

"I guess baby shopping can wait," Sara relented.

“I guess. You are more important.”
