ch 40

About two hours later, Grissom woke up to an empty bed. His heart stopped for a second as he recalled the past events...the nightmares. Then he heard soft singing. She's awake. You need to calm down Gil. He got up to go look for her. He found her sitting on a chair looking out the patio window at the lights of Las Vegas. She was stroking her stomach and singing a Billie Holliday song to the baby.

This was a precious sight to see Sara singing to the baby, it excited him and only made him love her more if that was possible.

Grissom revelled in the sight before him. He couldn't be happier than he was at that moment.

Sara continued to hum with a quietly contented smile on her face. He didn't want to interrupt her so he stood back and watched.

Completely oblivious to Grissom, Sara talked to the baby. "You like that one? Mara used to sing that one to me when I couldn't sleep."

I need to meet this Mara, she seems special to Sara. He stepped into Sara's view.

Sara looked up with a smile. "Hey."

"You have a beautiful voice." He said as he smiled at her.

Sara's cheeks took on a pinkish tinge. "The baby doesn't seem to mind it either."

"You guys bonding?" He joked.

"Mother-child bonding is just as important," Sara said in a tone of mock-seriousness.

"I'm not poking fun, Sara. I think it is cute." He said in his defence.

"You’re cute," Sara murmured as she gently pulled Grissom's face down to her level to kiss him.

"I thought I said you were cute." He blushed.

"How about we call it a draw and say we both are." Sara lightly kissed his earlobe.

"Umm, sounds good."

"Which also means the baby will be too. Genes you know."

He laughed. "I guess it will be a very attractive baby then, won't it."

"Especially if he has your eyes." Sara's voice softened a little.

"And your smile." He kissed her gently.

Sara slowly stood up and walked into Grissom's arms. "I love you Sara." He spoke as he pulled her into his chest.

"I know, baby. I love you too."

"I love you too." He bent down and placed a soft kiss on her belly.

Sara giggled softly. "That tickles."

He kissed it a few more times. "What about that?" Sara giggled again.

He picked her up into his arms and carried her back to the bedroom. "You know, baby.... we could still make love if we want to," Sara murmured as she rested against Grissom's chest.

"It won't hurt the baby; I don't want to hurt the baby." He placed her on the bed.

"It won't hurt the baby."

He leaned in to kiss her. "Intriguing."

"But true..."

"Umm." He nibbled on her earlobe.

Sara wrapped her arms around Grissom's neck then flipped him over. He giggled as she brushed herself against him. Sara softly kissed down Grissom's chest, shivering. He wriggled under her kisses, responding to her every move. Sara soothed him with her hands as she licked his navel.

He arched his hips. It set off all his senses. "Ummm." He purred.

"It's okay, baby. Let me..." Sara whispered.

He gave in to her request "Ok." He choked out.

Sara kissed her way back up to his mouth, kissing him gently. She whispered in his ear, "I love you more than anything...I'm never leaving you."

"Good" he breathed. "I don't want you to ever leave."

Sara nibbled down his neck as her hands went down to his legs. He couldn't sit still; she was driving him crazy. Sara slowly worked her lips down to his legs. Shivers went throughout his whole body. Sara kissed his inner thighs.

"Saaaaara" He screamed.

Sara slightly sat up. "Sssh..." She soothed him with her hands again.

He couldn't help it; she was driving him mad. "Can't"

"Can't what."

"Be quiet. You are driving me mad."

"I meant try to relax...." Sara murmured in his ear.

"Believe me when I tell you I am relaxed." He huffed

Sara grinned coyly at him before continuing her previous ministrations, lightly kissing his inner thighs. He shivered again and he reached for the sheets to offer him something to grip on. Sara quietly smiled when she saw he was ready. She silently disrobed and slowly lowered herself onto Grissom again, emitting a soft moan when she felt his skin. He arched his hips to meet her and began a rhythm. Sara buried her face in his warm neck, smelling his comforting musky smell as she started her rhythm. He thrusted harder and faster, was pounding his force as much as his heart was pounding. Sara's eyes squeezed shut as shivers ran through her body. He picked up his pace and flooded her walls with his warm fluid.

"Sara," he near growled. "Please open your eyes and look at me."

Sara sat up slightly and looked at him, brushing a strand of hair off his forehead. He captured her mouth and kissed her passionately. Sara moaned slightly as she tasted him again. He flipped her over so he was on top of her and quickly jumped off of her.

"Griss?"

"I forgot about the baby. Did I hurt him?"

Sara wrapped her arms around Grissom, pulling him towards her. "No, you didn't," she said gently.

"How could I forget? I'm going to be an awful father." He was near tears.

"Baby. Come here," Sara said, pulling him into her arms.

"Sara, I' m so scared. What if I screw up?"

"We'll get through it together, Grissom."

"It’s not just my life anymore."

"I know. It's ours...you, me, and the baby." She kissed him. "I know you're scared. I am too."

"You are?"

Sara nodded. He kissed her forehead. It was still salty from their lovemaking.

"Griss...would you object too much if I asked Mara to stay with us?"

"Why would I object?"

"She kissed him. "I know from past experience you like your space."

"We just will need a bigger house; this one is only two bedrooms."

"Maybe tomorrow we can look?"

"If that's what you want."

"What I want is to be with you."

"What ever makes you happy makes me happy.”

"And vice versa," Sara whispered in Grissom's ear as she snuggled against him.

"So is there anyone else you want to move in with us? What about her husband?" He joked.

"Just Mara. Cliff died a few years back."

"Ok so we don't need to buy a ten room mansion?"

"On our salary?" Sara raised an eyebrow.

"I told you not to worry. You have no idea." He jumped up and returned with a piece of paper and showed it to Sara. "There is enough money there to buy a ten room mansion if you want to."

Sara's eyes went wide. Her mouth dropped...then she started to cry.

"Sara, Honey, what's wrong?"

"Please tell me this isn't a dream," Sara whispered.

"It’s not a dream. Why would you think that?"

Sara tightly wrapped her arms around Grissom. "You're giving me everything I've ever wanted."

"Why wouldn't I?"

"Haven't had a lot of luck with that lately...." Sara whispered softly.

"You luck has changed now." He said coyly. "You can have anything you want."

"That’s the part that's going to take some getting used to," Sara admitted with a small smile. She kissed Grissom again.

"I love you."

"I love you too."

Sara's eyes began to drift shut again. "Maybe tomorrow I'll go shopping for baby clothes and baby stuff."

"Sure. If you want. How much money do you want?"

“Got...Thanks, baby." Sara's breath evened out and she fell asleep next to him on the pillow.

He pulled her into his chest. I love this part. Sara smiled sleepily and kissed his chest as she wrapped her arms around him and cuddled into him like a small kitten. He ran his fingers through her hair until he fell asleep with her.
