The New Girl
A moment with Reid
Julie settled herself in a seat by the window. She realized she would probably be a little more comfortable in something else so she had changed into a pair of jeans and a black v-neck t shirt. She was reading over the case file when Reid slid in the seat next to her.
"How's your dad?"
Juliette set down the case file and looked at him.
"He's....good. Writing a new book. Spending a lot of time at the cabin. He says the solitude helps him write. I see him pretty often. He misses you guys. Just not the job. He put up a pretty big fight when I told him this is what I wanted to do but, eventually he remembered that I am just as stubborn as he is and let it go."
Reid smiled. Julie studied his face. There was something about him. He was so handsome in such an unconventional way.
"You've met Hotch before this, haven't you?"
Julie shifted in her seat and tried to avoid his eyes. Futile, really. He was a profiler. He could tell the answer to that question and more just by watching her.
"Yeah....a long time ago."
Reid pulled out a deck of cards and set them on the table.
"It's a long flight to Seattle. Wanna play?"
Julie smiled and turned towards him.
"Sure....but just to warn you. I am a better card player than my dad."
