This should be interesting.

Author's notes: A bit of a slow start but I promise it will get better!

She was nervous, he could tell she was nervous. She was gripping the supports of the seat as if it would save her life. Her amber eyes darted around the cabin of the 747. Methos sat back contently reaching over and petting her arm for reassurance. She looked at him when he did like she was surprised he was there, even though they had now been together for two weeks. He hadn't taught her much by way of fighting. He'd taught her about demons. It had taken the entire two weeks to get him to agree to this. He had no idea what he was actually in for though, not a clue. He wasn't going to believe him, not at first. That's why he didn't want to explain to his friend that he wanted him to teach the Vampire Slayer how to fight because well...he would have just hung up on him. Mac was a very down to earth guy, for being 400 years old. Mac would be there when they finally touched down.

"You'll be fine, Commercial airlines rarely crash," Methos attempted to reassure her, but when a more panicked look crossed her face he couldn't help but mess with her.

"Rarely?" her eyes widened a bit.

"Not very often," he shrugged.

"How often is not very often?" her voice grew a bit more high pitched.

"Only every once in a while," he smiled now.

"Are you fucking with me?" she realized.

He only laughed and she grabbed his hand and squeezed and suddenly he was no longer laughing. She glared at him, one that told him she could easily break it. He really hoped she didn't. It would heal quickly and he'd have some explaining to do. He knew eventually he'd have to tell her what he was, he'd hide it as long as he could however.

"No, No I would never do that I would really appreciate it if you didn't break my hand," Methos told her.

She glared at him and squeezed just a little tighter before letting him go. That only lasted a minute though as soon as the plane started moving she grabbed his hand again. This time in fear, he patted the back of her hand with his free hand.

"Relax," he smiled now, hoping she didn't break his hand on accident.

This was going to be a long flight. He himself was tense, the stress of the last few weeks was getting to him. He hated being thrown into a situation a knew little about, but at the same time if it were anybody else besides him, he was afraid that the girl wouldn't have ever been found or would get killed. Methos had more resources to use than most other watchers. He needed a vacation, maybe a relaxing beach vacation, a nice immortal to behead...to get laid. All of those thing would be a welcomed change to this world that his is now immersed in and knows little about. Well, he could probably rather easily get laid. He considered the girl next to him, with her head now buried in his shoulder. The girl was frustrating, often walking around in nothing but underwear. He found it rather awkward to explain to her why she probably shouldn't do that so he didn't bother. He had his free hand in her hair gently stroking it to comfort the girl. It would be easy enough to talk her back into on of the bathrooms, he could be rather persuasive. He sighed he knew he wouldn't it wouldn't be right. Then again it would really be wrong would it?

As the plane leveled out she loosened her grip on him and a flight attendant came by.

"Is this your first flight hun?" she asked politely.

"Obviously if I would have known it was this horrifying I wouldn't be on here now," she told her weakly.

The woman smiled and offered her some peanuts. She took them but didn't eat them.

"If you ate something you may feel better," he said, of course what he was really thinking was that he had a great for her to relax. She nibbled at the food for a bit before actually eating it. It distracted her for a bit. Methos laid his head back against the head rest allowing his eyes to fall closed. He was in peace for a good ten minutes before the plane started to rumble and she grabbed his leg in shock.

"What the hell is that?" she asked panicked.

"Turbulence," he said without opening his eyes, but his leg muscle tensed a bit, when she didn't let go, so he finally opened his eyes. She didn't look convinced, and he was a bit annoyed at this point. It wasn't really her fault, but still. He looked to her then at her hand before removing it gently from his thigh with a light smirk. With a look of comprehension and a bit of embarrassment she pulled her hand away rather quickly making him laugh. He settled back into his seat closing his eyes once more with interesting thoughts filling his head. She was quiet the rest of the flight. Of course until it landed.

"Never again," she told him in a stern voice as the made their way through the terminal.

Methos chuckled a bit steering her with a hand on the small of his back. He picked up their luggage with a bit of a heave, then frowned as she took both the bags from him with little effort.

"Show off," he smirked.

"Oh quit being a woman," she shot back sticking out her tongue.

"I wasn't the one near tears over a simple flight," Methos shot back earning him a dirty look.

He felt a familiar tingle in his head, one that quickly turned into a buzzing. He looked around hoping to see a familiar face.

"Are you okay? Adam?" Tori stopped mid-stride.

She watched him carefully as his eye searched for something, they seemed to find it as a smile finally broke out on his face.

"Duncan it's good too see you," he said greeting a tall slightly tanned stranger with long dark hair, "Duncan this is Victoria Creed, Victoria this is Duncan McLeod."

Duncan smiled thinly she could tell he wasn't very happy with Adam. He smiled more warmly at her, "Let me take one of those for you."

"I've got them," she said said with a half smile, but Duncan was already taking it from her.

"McLeod is rather stubborn you'll find," Adam told her.

"Adam you have a lot of explaining to do," he said tersely but kept a pleasant smile. Tori didn't realize that until just then that Adam didn't tell Duncan just what was going on. She gave Adam a side glance but didn't say anything.

"I am well aware of that," Adam nodded still smiling.

He could tell Duncan was not happy to discover that the girl he wanted him to train wasn't an immortal. Duncan was going to be so pissed, but the boy scout wouldn't be able to resist helping the girl. That was how Duncan was wired and that was why he wanted them to meet face to face before he explained the situation. Duncan was a ladies man and would help one at all costs, but it was easy to say no over the phone.

"Take us to a hotel, and I'll explain what's going on while we unpack," Methos told him. Duncan nodded tossing the bags in the trunk of his shiny black convertible. He opened the door for Tori to sit in the front, there by forcing Methos in the back seat.

"So Victoria where are you from?" he asked her as they drove.

She looked at him, then out the front window not really looking at him when he spoke to her. Methos could sense the difference in her demeanor right away. She was as uncomfortable around Duncan as she was around Methos when they first met.

"LA," she answered shortly, he accent was almost British sounding, but not quite maybe Irish or Scottish.

"LA, that must be..." he started but she cut him off abruptly.

"Dirty, violent, brutal, cold and full of corrupt cops," she told him. She hated how glamorous everyone thought LA was. Even on TV they made it seem so great, but it wasn't.

"She was homeless," Adam explained from the backseat.

"Sorry to hear that," Duncan said quickly casting a glance in the rear-view mirror.

She shrugged now, Duncan noticed the girl had slowly moved as far away from him as she could without getting out of the car. He got the impression she was a bit skittish. If she had been homeless it explained it. He looked once more back at Methos trying to fathom why the old immortal would want him to train a mortal homeless girl he took in. It didn't make sense but he knew the old immortal wasn't telling him a lot of things. They pulled up at a hotel near his Dojo. He opened the door for the girl and once again she grabbed both bags from the trunk, with ease, an ease that was odd for someone her size. She wasn't really small, but still. Duncan sighed heavily this time not bothering take them from her as Methos went inside to rent rooms.
