"So, what's his deal?"
"Who's deal?"
"Sheldon's."
That nearly made Penny drop her latte. They were at the mall, window shopping and drinking Starbucks. They had stopped at Forever 21, and Magenta was eyeing a green and blue top. "That's kind of cute. Should I get it?"
"Why do you want to know Sheldon's deal Mags?"
"Promise not to tell?"
"Cross my heart."
"I think he's cute."
"Oh my God."
This time, she did drop her latte. This was possibly the strangest thing she had ever heard in her life. And ever since she had moved across from the guys, she had heard many strange things. But this topped everything. Someone found Sheldon Cooper attractive enough to voice it. She stared at Magenta for a couple minutes, blinking.
"What? Don't tell me he's gay."
"I don't know."
"How does that work?"
"He's never shown any interest in anyone. Man or woman."
Magenta was now the same color as her name had lost all interest in the top. She had only agreed to this girl's day so she could maybe clear her head. The first issue for her Halloween project was due in two and half weeks. She could do 23 pages in that amount of time, if she started today. It was time to crack the proverbial whip.
It had been a couple weeks since she had moved into the building. Penny had been a good friend, taking her under her wing. They hung out a lot, which meant she saw the guys more than she would have if she was just another neighbor. Being the single people stuck with the couple, most of her interactions were with Sheldon. And he was funny, in an accidental sort of way. Plus he was one of the few guys who was taller than her.
"This is going to be tricky," Penny said.
"Way to give a girl hope," Magenta muttered sarcastically.
"This will require all my skills."

That evening, Magenta was sitting on top of the washing machine with her sketchbook balanced on her knees and a pencil in her hand. She had to at least give the girl a face. She had a name: Faye. Like Fay Wray. Then it hit her and she began to draw. A slight blond, with bangs that fell into her eyes. She wore a white dress and ripped fishnets. Her shoes were clear high heels that were spotted with blood. Before the drawing, she wrote a quick bio: Faye Warren, 23. An abused child, she had been thrown out when her father tired of her. She met Michael when he came to kill her parents the same night she had decided to come home and do the same. They were soul mates. But her fate was up in the air: live or die?
In his own apartment, Sheldon clicked ACCEPT. He was now friends with Magenta Horror-Howard on Facebook. He decided to look over her profile. She was single, born on November 17th, and was a lifelong resident of Pasadena. At the very bottom of her wall was a small item: Magenta Horror-Howard and Saul DeMarco have ended their relationship.
He had to do his laundry, so he went down to the laundry room. He spotted Magenta on a washer, her head bent over a sketchpad.
"Hello."
She jumped and tumbled from the washing machine. Her body pitched forward and a purely altruistic response, he extended his own arms forward, to catch her. They hit the floor together, her breasts pressed to his chest and his arms were around her back.
"You scared the shit out of me," she snapped.
"Bazinga," he said.
"Um, you guys okay?"
That was Leonard. The short man was confused, to say the least.
"Who's deal?"
"Sheldon's."
