Nick sighed. "I... need to talk to him," he told himself as he walked back to the lab and walked in. He didn't see Greg, but his line of vision suddenly zoned in on blood that made a trail out of the lab. Nick worriedly followed the blood and walked into the bathroom, only to find Greg on the floor.

Nick yelled for help as lifted Greg into his arms. "It's okay Greg. I'm here. I'm sorry," he whispered, tears filling his eyes.

He walked out and it only took a moment and the ambulance was there and they took Greg to the hospital. He went with, when the nurse asked how he was related he said, "I'm his boyfriend." She looked at him oddly, but nodded and let him in.

He walked up to the bed and sat down on one of the chairs. "I'm sorry Greggo.." He cried softly, one hand reaching out and grasping Greg's.

*Beep... Beep... Beep... Beep*

When Greg woke up the first thing he noticed was a beeping, thinking it was some type of alarm clock he tried to shut it off. The only movement he could manage however was twitching his fingers; his whole body ached. That’s when he remembered what happened.

'Fuck, I must be in a hospital.'

He cracked open one eye and looked to the side to see a heart monitor, which was what was making the noise. He also noticed an IV hooked up to his arm and feeding blood into him.

"Cant even be emo properly" he chuckled to himself.

Nick looked up and gasped, "Greg, hey." He reached up to gently touch Greg's face, but pulled his hand back.

"S-since your awake, you probably want me gone now." He stood up and let out a deep breath. "Just so you know... I am glad you are okay now. I was so scared."

He sighed, his teary eyes staring straight into the lab tech's eyes.

"I fucked up," Greg croaked out, his throat dry.

"Forgot... was your first time," he sighed and closed his eyes, the pain medicine must have been what was in his other arm and the drip increased as his heart rate quickened.

He was starting to feel the affects of the drug and knew he was about to fall asleep but he couldn’t seem to keep his mouth shut. He wanted Nick to stay and hoped if he kept talking the man would have to.

"Haven’t cut myself since high school. Was so numb. Was dead inside. So I had to or my soul would float away..." he trailed off into sleep.

Nick worriedly walked back and sat down on the chair, giving in and reaching up and gently stroking Greg's hair back. "It's okay. I'll be here for you Greggo." He gave a sad smile.

'I hope he forgives me...I...already forgave him.'

"I love you, Greg," he whispered sadly, leaning up and kissing Greg's cheek gently.

~!~!~!~!~!~

Greg woke up about an hour later to a doctor poking at him.

"Hey! Almost dead guy trying to sleep here," he said, trying to swat at the doctor shining a light in his eyes.

"Mr. Sanders, its good to see that you’re awake. You lost a lot of blood but you got here just before it became critical."

"Woopie," Greg answered sarcastically.

"Now, its hospital procedure to have you analyzed by the hospital psychologist before we can even think about releasing you. You're boyfriend will have to wait out in the hall though."

"Boyfriend?" he asked before he looked around, his eyes landing on Nick.

Nick blushed brightly, "Ah... yeah." He smiled at the doctor, "Just… bring them in and I will go."
The doctor smiled and nodded, then walked out of the room.

Nick looked at Greg, "I told them that because they wanted to know how I was related otherwise they wouldn't have let me in. So... I gave them the closest thing I could think of."

He looked down, "Sorry to do that. I didn't mean to make you uncomfortable." He stood up, "Greg... I love you." He whispered, leaning down and kissing Greg softly on the lips, "Please forgive me..." He backed up and walked out of the room, just as the psychologist came walking in. He sat right outside the room, in one of the chairs.

~!~!~

The psychologist was getting fed up with Greg messing around. First he answered all of her questions with questions. Then he did it in a British accent, then Australian. It continued on with games like these for a couple of hours until she gave up and left the room in a huff.

"Have a good'ay, mate!" he yelled after her, breaking up into hysterical laughter.

Boy, did he love messing with people.

Nick walked in, and looked at Greg confused, "You know... I want you to get out of here this century. If you do that, they might send you to a mental hospital." He sat down on the chair by Greg's and gently held his hand.

"I want you better and out of here. I got old pizza that is calling your name." He teased... then he looked down sadly. "Or, I could take you to the new Italian restaurant they just opened a week ago..."

"Italian! How could I forget to do that one?" Greg yelled, referring to the accents he used to mess with the psychologist. Without really thinking he tried to snap his fingers, but winced as pain shot up his arm. He looked down at his bandaged arms and then around the room.

"You know, when someone's in the hospital you’re supposed to get them flowers and cards and balloons and teddy bears. I don’t see anything," he joked. "Of course I'm not too sure if that’s still the case if the person cut their own wrists."

Nick sucked in a sharp breath. "Shit," he whispered to himself.

"I am so sorry. I was so panicked that you weren't gonna make it I never had a chance to get you any. I never left your side." He gave Greg a cute, 'I'm very innocent, ‘forgive me' look.

'I can't believe I forgot to get him that. Stupid. Your supposed to be a gentleman.'

He stood up, "Just hold on..." He smiled, leaning over and giving Greg a kiss on the cheek, then quickly left the room.

When he got to the gift shop he instantly went to the stuffed animals and got Greg a baby puppy stuffed animal. Then he got a get-well card, and signed it.

Lastly, he got a dozen red roses, 5 yellow, 2 white, and 1 pink.

He headed back to Greg's room. He took in a deep nervous breath and walked into his (hopefully) lover’s room.

"Here you go." He said softly, walking over and setting them on the table by Greg.

Before Greg could say anything Nick had ran out of the room. He returned a few minutes later with his arms full. Greg was amazed by what Nick brought back.

"I was just kidding you know," he said as he reached over and grabbed the puppy, it was really cute. He hugged it to his chest and pulled Nick down so he was sitting on the bed with him.

"Thank you, cowboy." He leaned forward and kissed Nick lightly on the lips.

"What should I name him?" The blonde rested his head on the man’s shoulder while hugging the stuffed animal and looking down into its brown plastic eyes.

Nick smiled, reaching out and petting the stuffed puppy dog. "I don't know, maybe something like ...Evan, or, Cowboy, or Blueberry." He chuckled lightly, resting his head against Greg's.

"Greg? I really love you..." He bit his lip shyly, hoping Greg wouldn't throw his confession of love back in his face.

'I think I might die, I hope he still loves me back,’ Nick thought.

"I know..." Greg whispered.

He wanted to tell Nick that he loved him too, but he knew that if he admitted it and then something like that first night would happen again he would make sure he locked the bathroom door so no one could get in next time.

It will be awhile before he can trust himself around Nick. To be honest, he didn’t really know if he ever would, but he wanted to.

He hugged the stuffed animal he decided to call Evan to his chest tighter, ignoring the pain it caused in his wrists. His eyes shut and his face tilted down; he didn’t want to see Nick's reaction to him not saying 'I love you' back.

Nick gave a small nod, "I understand." He whispered, giving Greg another kiss on the cheek, then stood up. "Enjoy the flowers and everything." He bit his lip sadly.

"I want you to get better. When you do... you know where I live and where I work," he teased a little. Reaching over and caressing Greg's cheek.

"I am gonna go now." He started backing up towards the door.

Greg looked up at the Nick's retreating figure and panicked, the heart monitors beeping speeding up a bit.

"NO!" he sat up straighter and reached out one hand as far as he could, like a child reaching for a cookie that was just too high up. His other arm was clutching Evan to his chest like a lifeline.

He didn’t know what he would do if he was left alone and he was scared he would do something stupid again.

Nick looked away and closed his eyes. He had to get away, he felt uncomfortable right then. "Greg. I can sense you don't want me here. I know I took it too far, but... I just wanted to be alone for a bit the other night. I didn't mean to yell and push you. That was too much, but I blame my dad for that. He was the rough, 'You listen to me, boy, or I will hit you' kind of father. That's why I started working out and got muscles, so I could fight back against him."

He stepped closer to Greg and held his hand, "Why do you even want me?" He whispered, his brown eyes defeated and sad.

Before Greg could answer a Doctor bust into the room.

"I was paged because your heart monitor showed a sever increase in your heart rate. Is everything in here okay?" he asked, looking back from Greg to Nick.

"Yea" Greg answered in a bit of a shaky voice.

The doctor just nodded and went to check the machines. After looking them over he went to the IV that was still in Greg's arm and increased the dosage he was getting.

"We need you to relax Mr. Sanders so I am going to increase the medication. It should help you sleep."

With that the doctor left the room and Greg felt his mind cloud up a bit.

"Want you... ‘cause you're my cowboy," he went back to their conversation before they were interrupted.

A small grin appeared on Nick's face as he leaned over and hugged Greg tightly, but not so tight it would hurt the younger man.

He gently kissed Greg's soft pink lips, "Well this cowboy won't ever hurt you again. I promise," he whispered against the lips.

He broke the small kiss and smiled sweetly, "Get better Greggo. And don't worry. I will still be in the chair when you wake up." He chuckled, pressing another soft kiss to Greg's forehead.

"Sleep well, hun."

He turned around and sat down in the hospital chair, and watched Greg until he closed his eyes and started to fall asleep.
