A week passed by .

Lex kept his men searching endlessly without the slightest clue were Vesta was.

The morning sun beam into the window .

The annoying sound of the alarm clock woke Clark out of a blissful dream.

Martha already had breakfast on the table , and Vesta was eating on a bagel with strawberry favored cream cheese.

“ Good morning Clark”.

“ Good morning Vesta” .

He fixed himself a glass of juice ,and sit down next to her.

Martha made herself a steamy cup of coffee.

Vesta looked over at Martha ,“I’m full”.

“ Okay honey”.

The morning passed by quickly.

Clark was outside working on his truck.

He see a car pulling into the drive .

It was Lionel.

Martha was inside talking to Chloe .

Lionel walked up to Clark .

“ Clark this is Dr.Xavier Stanford"

"He heads the Metropolis Genealogical Research Center”.

Clark cleaned his hand off.

“ Nice to meet you sir”.

Lionel was carrying a brief case with a lock on it.

“ Clark Dr. Stanford has found some vital information on Vesta .

Clark walked in after the two gentlemen.

Martha got up two greet them .

“ Hello Lionel , just have a sit at the table”.

“ Would you gentlemen like sometime to drink”?

“ Yes please”, they both said .

Martha gave them both a glass of tea.

“ Xavier will you please wait outside” .

“ Yes Sir”.

“ Clark every thing you want to know about Vesta is in this briefcase”, said Lionel.

Lionel handed it to Clark ,and gave him the code to open it.

Clark looked over the paper work ,and became dazed.

“ Clark what is it?” , asked Chloe , and Martha .

“ Lionel how is that possible?”

“ Clark when you were human” .

“ Vesta was conceived”.

“ Lionel, Lana would have told me”.

Chloe put her hand on top of his .

Clark kept on looking through the paper work .

“ Clark Lana had no idea she was pregnant”.

“ She was admitted to the Smallville hospital on June tenth 2005”, due to severe stomach cramps” .

Dr Holbrook gave her something to make her sleep.

When he did an ultrasound he was surprised to see Vesta”.

“ Clark the picture is in the briefcase” .

“Vesta had to be taken by cesarean”.

Clark looked at the Picture.

Vesta was laying sideways.


“ Lionel why would Lana not tell me?”


Lana had a hormonal imbalance ,so she was still having a cycle”.

“ How many weeks was she?” , asked Chloe .

“ She was only 22 weeks”.

“ Normally the survival rate for a premature baby ,that small is very slim, because she was born in Smallville green meteor rock was used to keep her alive”.

Clark was trying hard to take in all the information Lionel was giving him.

“ Lionel ,so how did Lex get his hands on Vesta?”

“ He had Dr. Holbrook lie to her about the birth”.

“ Then he had Dr. Holbrook raise her, so he could run tests on her”.

“ Tests?” question Clark .

“ According to a reliable source” .

“ Lex Corp was doing tests on Vesta’s brain” .

“ If you haven’t noticed her mental ability succeeds the normal five year old”.

Chloe looked at Lionel.

“ What about a genetic connection, between Clark ,and Vesta”?

“ Chloe when Clark was human the hospital kept some of his blood after he was shot".

“ I had a sample of Clark's blood tested with Vesta".

"They matched”.

“ Dr Stanford did the test more than once to make sure”.

“ So, you see all the puzzle pieces fit”.

Clark was in shock , so Lex kept Vesta away from her family to be his on personal lab rat?”

Lionel lower his head, "yes Clark".

Martha could see that Clark was about to become unglued .

“ Lionel I think we need some time to let this news sink in”.

Clark got up ,and walked to his bedroom , and peaked in on Vesta.

Chloe touched his Shoulder.

“ I’m here if you need to talk”.

He sit on the bed just looking at Vesta listening to every beat of her heart.

He wondered how he was going to tell her the truth.
