PART 4
"Mr. Thornton." His voice was clipped, cold. "I don't think you have any idea of the predicament you have placed yourself in." Lex Luthor stood in front of the broken man, arms crossed over his body, feet wide apart. He stepped forward, leaning down over the man, and shook his head slowly. "You tried to take away someone very precious to me. That," he said as he smiled, lifting the left side of his mouth, "is unacceptable."
Cameron Thornton sat in a metal chair, shivering. Not from the lack of warmth in the room, however. The uncontrollable trembling amassed from the bitter chill freezing into his bones, flaring from the powerful man standing over him.
"Mr. Luthor," he croaked, trying to meet the silvery gaze without flinching. "We just wanted to get your attention."
Lex whirled around, throwing his hands into the air. "Well, Mr. Thornton," he spat out, nodding sharply, "you certainly have it." A pale eyebrow arched up, and Lex tilted his head, smirking. "Now, you have made a serious error in judgment. That much is apparent." Lex looked down, seemingly deep in thought, before his eyes flared up, staring into Cameron Thornton's terrified gaze. "You never should have touched him."
"I didn't realize-"
"Once was unforgivable, Mr. Thornton." Lex continued, as if the frightened man hadn't spoken. "The part that strikes me most here, is that it was Clark who forgave you the first time. Clark has such a big heart. He's so GOOD. He thought you should get a second chance...have an opportunity to start over. He tends to forget that not everyone is like him."
The chair was shaking; the man was shaking so hard, and he swallowed loudly. "Then, surely, your Clark wouldn't want you to do anything to me, now."
He had thought Lex's eyes were cold before.
It hadn't been anywhere close to the horrifying layer of ice that clouded those eyes now.
"You would speak his name? You would dare?" The words were so quiet, so eerily calm.
"I'm sorry." Cameron Thornton lowered his head, silent, humiliating tears sliding down his face. "I'm so sorry, Mr. Luthor."
Lex straightened, turning and walking towards the door. He stopped and threw a half-smile over his shoulder. "You will be."
------------------------------------------
The phone was in his hands. He was staring down at it, and he wanted, so badly, to make the call. Wanted that bastard dead for touching Clark. For hurting him.
Cameron Thornton knew how to hurt him. He KNEW.
He was dangerous. An unmistakable threat.
For that alone, the man should disappear from the face of the earth.
Because of that man, he nearly lost the last thing in the world that kept his soul human. The irony was not lost on him. Chuckling softly, he pressed a series of numbers on the phone. He lifted the tiny phone to his ear, speaking carefully into the mouthpiece as he stepped off of the elevator and into the silent penthouse.
"I want him there in the next twenty minutes...yes." Lex sighed into the phone. "Absolutely certain...make sure...whatever needs to be done."
He ended the call, and placed the phone down on the coffee table, sliding down onto the couch. His temples were throbbing, and he laid his head back against the smooth leather cushions.
"Hey."
Lex twisted around in place, his face softening as he saw Clark move cautiously into the room. Watching, he did not move a muscle as the tall, dark-haired man walked around the sofa to sit down close next to him. The weight dropping down onto the couch shifted him, and he moved his hips slightly. Pushed himself the tiniest space closer to the warmth being offered. Green, open eyes stripped his mind, quickening his breath, and he closed his eyes against the heavy assault on his chest. Not painful. Just a knowing, a sheer knowing, that made him want to weep.
"Clark." Gathering a calm he did not feel, he forced his eyes open to meet Clark's steady ones. "You should be in bed."
A cocked head and an amused smile drew a grin out of him, and he reached out, grabbing Clark's hand.
"What's going to happen to him?"
He squeezed tight on the fingers, not letting go. "He knows about you. Your reaction to the meteor rocks."
Clark's nod and answering squeeze humbled him. "I figured."
"Oh, Clark."
"It's okay, Lex." Clark maintained his firm hold, reaching out with his free hand to stroke a soft, unmarred finger down his face. "It's okay."
"I had him in the basement. I went down there, tonight, while you were sleeping in our bed." Unblinking, he held onto Clark's eyes. "I wanted to kill him."
"But, you didn't." Sweet, low voice. So sure.
"I wanted to. I still do." The words were whispered, soft and thin.
"Lex." Clark raised Lex's hand to his lips, sucking a warm kiss onto his fingers. Licked between them, and sighed onto the skin. "It's not about that. It's about our choices."
"What makes you think I made the right one?" The question was so hard to ask. The words were like shards of glass against his throat, his lips. He forced them out and repeated the question, wordlessly, with his eyes.
Clark pulled him in, closer, sucking the inside of his elbow...leaving bright, strawberry marks on the paper-thin skin there. Moved up his arm, across his shoulder, kissing and licking. Loving. Laying siege. Surrendering. Giving.
"I believe in you. I believe, more than anything, in how much you love me, Lex." He moved closer still, pausing before moving into Lex's mouth. Rubbed the tip of his nose against Lex's, with the sweetest smile playing upon his lips. "Come on, Lex. Even Vader left the 'dark side', in the end. Do you really find it so hard to believe in yourself?"
Lex's laugh exploded onto Clark's mouth, and Clark's smile brightened. Green eyes stayed locked on his as their mouths met, tongues sliding against one another.
Lex watched eyes the color of the purest sea roll back before thick, black lashes slid down. A needy hand reached up to find a grip in silken curls. Fingers slid easily through the hair, moving to grasp the nape of Clark's neck. He held him in place while he sucked a soft tongue into his mouth.
Gasping, he pulled back, drinking down a breath as he pushed against a firm chest. He increased the pressure, not letting up until Clark's back was laying across the cushions of the couch. Settling over him, he kept his weight on an elbow, not willing to chance hurting his lover.
Clark smiled. "You know I'm all right, now."
Leaning forward, Lex latched onto an outstretched throat. "Yes, of course."
The chuckle tickled his lips, and he bit gently at the skin across Clark's collarbone.
He moved down further, hands pulling back to grasp at the waistband of soft, worn boxers. Pulling them down, he followed the fabric with his lips. Kissed every exposed inch, and sucked harder at every choked breath that fell from Clark's mouth.
Sitting back, he slid the cloth down long legs and tossed them carelessly over his shoulder. He held the muscled legs in his hands, and rubbed his way down them, against the backs. Pushing them up and back, he massaged tiny circles into the backs of sensitive knees, and smiled at the breathless laugh.
He wanted to taste everything...every silken inch of Clark Kent, and his mouth left wet, sliding patches of skin across downy thighs. Lower, still, until his tongue was sliding across a dark cleft. Moved in, tender and sure towards the sensitive entrance. He lapped his tongue across it, closing his eyes at the aching moan that erupted from Clark. Felt, as much as saw, the bursts of light behind closed eyelids. Moved in tight, and drank Clark in.
Slid his tongue around and around, and pushed in softly. He felt the barest push back against him, and shifted his hands around and over to grip golden hips. Encouraged those trembling hips into a rocking glide as he slid his tongue in deeper, twisting and sucking. Pulling out to kiss, and then to push in farther.
"Lex! Please." Clark's voice called to him, and he raised up, mouth slick and panting. Lex's pale thumb moved across a hip to tease a flat belly. Skated up the side of a full, darkened cock and teased the tip, spreading a thick drop of fluid around the head. He followed the shining liquid with his mouth, widening his lips to surround the head, and slide down the shaft. Sucked hard as he pulled back up, swallowing the thick pulses that burst against the roof of his mouth.
Strong fingers curled around his shoulders, pulling at him, tugging him up. He fought them for only a moment before acquiescing, gliding up a perfect body to share his mouth with Clark.
"I need you, Lex." Clark whispered against his mouth. "Don't make me wait."
Lex grinned, sliding two fingers into Clark's open mouth. "You had only to ask, my love."
Clark's eyes twinkled up at him as he sucked on the fingers hard. Releasing them with a loud, wet noise, he raised thick eyebrows until they disappeared underneath a thick fringe of inky hair. "I have to ask, now?"
A slick finger moved down to circle the relaxed hole, and slid inside easily. Lex felt Clark shifting around him and groaned, working himself in and out of Clark's tight body. Adding his second finger, he crooked and twisted, smiling at the sharp hiss that flooded the air.
"Ask and ye shall receive, Clark." They laughed together, soft chuckles becoming moans as Clark arched and urged him deeper.
"Please, Lex. Now. Get deep in me, now."
Laughter faded as Lex lined himself up against Clark. He pumped himself hard, twice, and slicked himself with the gushes of pre-come that slid steadily down his length.
Pushed in, and let himself fall into the tight heat. It felt like home.
"Clark!" He moved back, slid back in, the most perfect dance. Pumped into Clark's body, and sobbed at the sweet, sincere welcome of it.
Faster, as Clark's legs tightened and shook. Their hands met, moving together over Clark's cock. Sliding in unison, firm and quick, and Lex shivered as he felt Clark's scream roll through his body. Hot, thickness spilled over their hands, and he pumped through the wrecked screams.
Raising dripping hands to his mouth, he slid his tongue over their fingers, sucking hard on Clark's thumb as he felt his own orgasm overtake him; he spilled into Clark, gasping and sucking around a thumb that was moving inside his mouth to stroke the inside of his cheek.
He pulled out gently, laying close to Clark's unmarred side. Slid soft kisses across the unmarked skin.
"You make me real, Clark." He said in a hushed, dry sob against Clark's skin.
"You make me happy, Lex."
-------------------------------------------------
The paper, the next day, at breakfast spoke of a man being held in police custody for breaking and entering the Luthorcorp towers. Luthorcorp was arranging for medical treatment for the man, who apparently had some deep-seated emotional issues.
Clark read the paper with a knowing smile, and passed Lex the business section.
"It's going to be a beautiful day, Lex."
Lex smiled, sliding his eyes up to meet Clark's. "It really is, isn't it?"
