Chapter four
The Births
After they had finished eating Nicola asked to use the toilet “through that door take a right it’s through the first door you see”. The doctor said
Nicola got up and followed the directions until she found the right door, as she sat on the toilet, she felt a sharp pain. “ Aaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhh” and she collapsed on the floor in pain and after a second the pain went.
Nicola got up and tried to walk back to where the doctor was, then the pain came back, she was having the babies. “DOCTOR!!” She screamed and fell to the floor again and started crying.
Meanwhile.
As he watched her put Sapphy down she walked to the door and was gone to the toilet.
“And what are you looking at”? The Doctor said to Sapphy who sat on the floor looking at him. “Are you hungry too”? He asked her as he got up and went into one of the cupboard and pulled a tin of dog food and a little plate and was about to fork it out on the plate when he heard Nicola screaming for him, he put the tin, plate and fork down and ran out of the kitchen and he saw Nicola crying on the floor, he went over and lifted her up and carried her to the sick bay. “They’re coming aren’t they”? She said in tears. “Yes, just hang on honey”. He said putting her on one of the beds, then scanned her again. “Nicola, sweetie, I’m afraid that the number of babies has grown”. He told her, Nicola looked startled “How many”? She asked, he looked at her “8” he said as he went over to a cabinet and opened it and pulled out a big can of Gas and air and then putting a mouth piece onto the pipe, he gave it to Nicola, “you are going to have to give birth to them all and hopefully that’s it”. The Doctor told her. She started breathing it in and nodded.
Just then another burst of pain and her waters broke “aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhh” she screamed as soon as the pain stopped she looked at the Doctor “why me”? She cried, as he rolled up his sleeves. “Why me what”? He asked, “Why did he choose me, out of hundreds of million people, why did he choose me to carry his children”? She asked as another flood of pain came through. “I don’t know but once we find him, we’ll ask ok”. He said as he finished washing his hands. He walked over and checked her cervix “you’re 10cm you can start pushing”. The Doctor said. Nicola started pushing and the Doctor counted to 10. “Good girl, Nicky good”. At the next contraction she pushed again while the Doctor counted to 10 each time. “I can see the head stop pushing as I try to ease it out”. He said as he helped free its shoulders. “Ok push again”. He said and she did only harder this time “it’s a boy and it’s out”. He said, “What’s he look like”? She said panting “he’s fine, he’s human, I think” he said cutting the cord, then scanning him “he’s 50/50 He’s half Masharaper and half human, but he’s gorgeous”. He said handing him to her, “oh my boy, oh my beautiful baby boy”. She said crying, “What are you going to call him”? The Doctor asked her. Nicola studied her son for a minute “Adam Scott Clark” as she kissed his little forehead. The Doctor took the baby and put him in a little crib he made up while he was getting ready. “ Oh, oh aaahhh” Nicola said as another wave of pain ripped through her tummy. The Doctor came back and sat back down again.
A few minutes later, Nicola had a newborn baby daughter “Amy-Jo Clark” she said as the Doctor place her next to her brother.
After six hours a tired Nicola brought “Rose Anne Clark into the world.
