Chapter Four
Mako... Daniel wished he knew what that was. He'd done a net search for it, but nothing came up that was more significant than lists of Asian names.
"Mako..." Sephiroth whispered, his eyes alight with hope.
Daniel moved closer and slid onto the bed beside Sephiroth.
Immediately, the prone man reached up to caress his face.
"My... Mako." The man grinned and hooked his arms around Daniel's neck pulling him down for a kiss.
Well, Daniel could think of worse reasons to be woken up at ungodly hours of the night. So, he gave in, keeping Sephiroth occupied until the wee hours of the morn. Eventually, the man fell asleep and Daniel called for Janet who immediately took the opportunity to run a couple more tests.
"Can you wait outside?" she asked.
An hour later, she came out to him, bearing an offering of coffee.
"Well, I have some good news, and some bad news," Janet began. "The
good news, is that he's over his original mako addiction... The bad news... is that he has replaced with a new addiction. Oh, and he's taken to calling you mako."
"... That's... not good, right?" Daniel asked, clearing his throat and pushing his glasses back up his nose.
"It's an improvement, but in, well, moral and legal terms? No, it's not good."
"That's what I thought."
A voice floated out the door. "Ohhhh, maaaakoooo.... Here, mako, here boy... mmmm, mako."
"Mako..." Sephiroth whispered, his eyes alight with hope.
