ch 38
“Lindsay, can I talk to you.” Amy asked.
“Sure, what’s up?”
“I’m worried.” Amy admitted.
“About Uncle Gil?”
“Yes, and Mom too.”
“Everything will be alright, I’m sure.”
“I hope so. I can’t do this again?”
“Again?”
“Yes. My dad died once already.”
“Uncle Gil?”
“No. My first dad.”
“Mine too.”
“What happened to yours?”
“Somebody killed my daddy.” Lindsay as she tried to swallow the memories.
“Cancer killed mine.”
“Oh, that must have been awful.”
“It was. It got worse when mom went crazy.”
“Your mom went crazy?”
“Yes, that’s how I ended up in foster care.”
“I still have my mom.”
“So Sara and Uncle Gil got you out of foster care?”
“Yes.”
“At least you have them.”
“I do, but I am worried about her too. I saw this before, when mom first got crazy.”
“Sara is not crazy.” Lindsay assured her.
“I tell you, my other mom wasn’t either, not always and then one day she snapped. She just went crazy babbling about things that made no sense.”
“After your dad died?”
“Yes. I am so worried about the both of them.”
“It will be fine I am sure.”
“I hope you are right.”
“Me too.”
“Everything will be alright.” Greg said approaching as he hung up his cell phone.
“Can we go home yet?”
“Yes, Lindsay that was your mom on the phone. Amy is staying over tonight.”
“Great.” Lindsay grinned.
“We need to take her home to get some things though.”
“We can watch movies.” Lindsay giggled; I have a few new ones.”
“Sure.” Amy tried to sound happy.
