ch 37
Oh boy, here goes. "Yeah?"
"I want this all. I want you to move in with me. I want you with me forever, you and my children. We can buy a different house if you want. I want to get married and I also want to raise my children with you. I don't want to lose my chance and if I don't make a decision soon I know I will. I'm getting older. I didn't think I would ever have children and now, now I will have it all." Sara put her arms out for Grissom, trying to soothe him. "I want to be a good father. Better than mine was." Sara held him close to her, stroking his neck. "I don't want to disappoint you, Sara."
Sara's eyes filled with tears as she held Grissom to her. "You're not disappointing me, Griss. I just don't want you to feel like you're obligated to marry me right this second."
"I don't feel obligated. I want to. I have waited so long; I have been so stupid. I should have never left San Francisco. I could have had this much happiness years a go, I was a fool."
He wiped away her tears. "I don't want to rush you."
"You aren't rushing me. I refuse to turn my back on you." Sara's arms tightened around Grissom's neck. "How much longer do we have to wait? This is killing me." He spoke to her chest.
"Hopefully not long."
"Our lab is faster than this place." He said seriously
"Mm..." But I get to hold you longer...I might not get the chance to anymore.
"Maybe I should go see what is taking so long."
"Stay." Sara murmured.
He did as she requested. He pulled her up on his lap and held her from behind. "I'd rather hold you anyway."
The doctor decided to return just as Sara got comfortable. He held Sara tight as the doctor approached Sara made no move to get off the chair.
“Your test is positive. Congratulations."
Grissom was speechless.
Sara stammered, "Are you sure?"
Grissom turned Sara to look at him
"I'm positive." The doctor told both of them.
Many things spun through Grissom's head.
Sara smiled in thanks at the doctor as she continued;" I can give you the number of an OBGYN in Vegas if you like." Grissom, not knowing what else to do, kissed her hand.
The doctor smiled good-bye after giving Sara the number of her OBGYN friend and a prescription for anti-nausea.
"Sara, is Diclectin safe for the baby?" The baby, this is going to take some getting used to.
"Perfectly."
"I just don't want anything to hurt you or the baby."
‘That's why I want to get an OBGYN. We're both going to need to know what we're doing."
"I agree. It is all new to both of us."
Sara picked up her jacket from its place behind the chair. "Ready to go home? We just have to stop by the drugstore."
"We do? Why?" Sara held up the prescription for Diclectin. "Oh yeah. Sorry. I was figuring we didn't need anymore condoms." He laughed at his comment. Sara kissed his cheek.
"So we are going to really do this?"
"What? Be parents?"
"Yes."
"I never actually figured this day would come."
Me either
"Are we gonna tell work?"
